Tried new handset still won’t transmit , I have replaced it with a new set and it works great
Are the cords and mic replaceable as mine is rotting away on the gme tx3100

Bit of a mystery this one, sounds electrical interference. Not had similar problems in my D Max, sometimes all sorts of problems associated with second battery wiring. Just bought a GME 4500s, brilliant. Regards Peter aka THe Bear
Thank you for your help Peter will take to electrian to see if can find source of interference. Alex

Hi guys I purchased the GME TX 3100 The other day and it was working fine. Two days later I go to transmit and I get this message saying hi D2. Any ideas? All connections are plugged in properly
Sorry I am unable to help, so go back to where you purchased it from and ask them. If it is a fault of the unit they should repair it under the warranty.
it could be a 24 volt system socket you need a step down relay to 12 volts
ive got the TX3100 unit but does not recive or transmit a signal with a 6.6dbi gme antenna but the same antenna works fine on my gme TX440 was thinking of getting a new antenna for it but the 2.1 dbi
If it is still under warranty, take it to a GME Dealer and get them to check it.
Is it possible to change the back light colour? Could you put in a different bulb or something?
not as far as I know. My backlight has just failed, only works now and again.Time for an update I feel. Has been a great, clear radio over the time I have had it. Peter aka THe Bear
What is the transmitting and receive range for the tx3100 with 6.6dbi antennae .Cheers
Gidday Baz, as with all UHF radios, range is purely line of sight. With a hill between two radios, transmit and receive distance is limited but in open country might be 10 kms. Hope this helps. Peter aka THe Bear
Thanks Bear I thought it would around that mark appreciate the reply
Hi Baz, Further to the answers that have been given, they are what is termed as transmitting on "Simplex" which is on the same channel direct to each other. THe Bear mentioned a hill. In specific locations around Australia there are "Repeaters" that are strategically placed on very high locations which allow for a transmission of "Duplex" where 2 channels are used, One channel is used to transmit to a Repeater and the repeater re transmits it out on the offset 30 Channel above the one being used. Eg. 1-31, 2-32, 3-33 and so on. Within the CB Radio Spectrum there is provision for 8 Repeaters which are on Channels 1 to 8 and 31 to 38. These channels should not be used for Simplex Radio Transmissions. I suggest that you search on the internet - CB Radio Repeaters Operation in Australia and you should be able to find a list of Repeaters that are located in each State and more about CB Radios and how it all works.
Thanks for the info ill follow it up much appreciated
I bought a extension speaker and plugged into only hole i coulsee but it kills the sound at unit and no sound at ext speaker . What am i doing wrong?

Guys my tx3100 powers up and functions appear ok but...... there are no audible beeps, no receiving transmissions, and not sure if it’s transmitting. Transmission line does come on the display though when mike button is depressed.
Any ideas?
as long as transmit line comes up should be ok. See if other operators are copying you. Check squelch is not up too high. Regards THe Bear
I was programming my 4500 when all of a sudden my channel numbers are gone
Gidday, I bought my 3100 from Bobs Tyres Hervey Bay(also 4x4 accessory dealer). He gave me the 'phone No. of the local GME distributer, I called him and arranged for him to program my CB. All I know is that he did with a program on his laptop computer and he put all the Police and emergency channels for this area in. Hope this helps
I have not done any programming so I cannot help you.
I have a tx3100 it can be heard on other units but I can’t hear anyone?
Gday when turning on my tx4400 with or without the mic plugged in the signal strength goes straight to 9 and stays there. Any ideas?
Troy, no ideas why this happens, mine does not have a signal strength indicator. One problem that has started with mine is that the LED light on the channel selector is failing. The Bear
Are they 12 24 volt?

JIm, they are 12 volt. Regards Peter
Dear Sir,
I have a GME TX 44000 tranciever plus a GME AE4705G uhf antenna installed in Landrover Defender, which has served me well since 2010.
I wish to upgrade this 40 channel with a new 80 channel unit. What are my options with a new 80 channel unit from GME?
Can I purchase the radio and mic only? If so, where can I purchase one in Sydney and what would the postage cost be if I purchased the unit on line. Can I purchase it directly from GME?
Cheers,
Fred Mayer

Look up UHF radios for sale Sydney on the web. There should be quite a few dealers in Sydney and surrounds. As far as swapping the radio over and using existing electrical wiring, You will have to check with the dealer your buying from as the plugs might be different depending on the age of your radio. Your antenna, coax cable and plug for that will be ok.
