Sounds like you have a severe brake issue, you need to get the car to a mechanic ASAP. (Do NOT Drive it, get it towed.)

I have a 2011 x240 gwm will turn over will not start engine light flashes quickly can you help

Does it have Fuel? Does it have Spark? Does the camshaft rotate when the engine is being turned over? Do you have a OBDII scanner? If you have an OBDII Scanner, what codes (if any) are shown? Check for fuel by performing two tests, 1 turn the ignition ON (but do not start the engine). Do you hear the fuel pump running for a couple of seconds or so? If yes, test 2 is to check for fuel flow after the filter, to check that, turn the ignition off, get under the car under the passenger side and remove the fuel line from the engine side of the filter, then turn the ignition on, you should get a stream of fuel being pumped out of the filter. If that is the case, then you have fuel to the engine. If not, then you probably have a blocked filter. If you have fuel flow and pressure, stage 2 will be to test for spark. Lift the bonnet and remove number 4 spark plug (The front one, GWM's are setup backwards from normal). Get an assistant to crank the engine whilst you observe the lead for sparking. (Do not touch the lead whilst the engine is cranking, the voltages are lethal) If you have spark, proceed to stage 3. If you don't have spark, there are a couple of possible causes, one is a faulty coil pack, but they rarely fail. The second issue is the Crank Angle Sensor, it is located on the drivers side of the bell housing, it is the primary cause of no spark in these engines, particularly once they get 150 - 200,000 Km on them. To replace it, you can get the part from your local parts store or eBay, the cost is usually around $50-$80 or so. (Try to get a genuine Delphi branded part, they seem to last much longer than aftermarket units.) If you do have a good, reliable spark then the next step is to check if the cam belt has not broken or has stripped teeth. The easiest way to do that it to undo the oil filler cap and watch the camshaft for movement as an assistant turns the engine over. If the camshaft is not turning, then you will need to consider your options, either a new cam belt kit and some cylinder head / valve work is going to be needed or a replacement engine will be required. Either way, it's a big job and is something best left to a qualified / licenced workshop.

How much fuel is in the tank? If it's around a 1/4 tank and your driveway is steep[ish] then there's not enough fuel at the pump to supply the engine. Try rolling the car to somewhere that is level and turn the ignition on and off a few times to re-prime the fuel system before you attempt a restart. If that doesn't work, it's probable that the crank angle sensor has failed. The CAS is on the drivers side of the bellhousing and it's connector is on the passenger side of the bellhousing, just above the starter motor. The cost of a CAS is between $30 and $90 on eBay.

Swapping the the globe will tell you what maybe wrong or earth wires can be an issue. Auto electricians will help

It's probably just a blown globe, the lower tail lights are globes, the upper section is LED's. To get at the globes, you must remove the tail light and to do that, open the tailgate and there are two x 10mm head bolts that hold the tail light in place, remove those and pull the tail light assembly out toward the rear of the car (There is an unseen clip that helps hold it in place). Once the tail light assembly is free, you can replace the globes as per usual. to refit the light, make sure that the wires feed back into their rubber bush and once the tail light is in place give it a gentle shove forward to engage the clip, then refit the 2 x 10mm bolts. Job done.

Ok, to fix the upper LED not working, replace the blown FRONT park light globe on the car. GWM use the front globes as ballast for the LED's and when a front globe dies, you lose the tail lights.

Yes, the tank must be removed, the fuel gauge sender is integral with the fuel pump.

There are 4 in the 2011 and later cars, all internal. 1 at each A Pillar and 1 at each corner at the rear.

It will probably be a broken cable between the inside handle and the locking mechanism. Replacements can be found on eBay or on AliExpress.

Have a second-hand Great Wall X240 2011. It came with a key but no remote. I have the programming sequence for a remote but the vehicle won't allow me to go into programming mode. I have to assume there's a faulty wire, connection, relay or some other electrical fault causing this. I've checked all fuses & they're ok. Has anyone had this problem & solved it?

To go into programming mode, you need to have an original remote type key in the ignition. Even then, there are no guarantees that you'll be able to get the car into 'programming mode'. To be honest, the best bet is to spend some extra cash and go to a locksmith who works with cars, you may need to ask around a bit, not everyone has a key programmer that can do Great Wall things. (Try your local Mister Minit, that's who I got to make and program my extra keys.)

Mine were done in Cairns, but there's any amount of locksmiths out there that can do it for you. Failing that, there's the dealers but they'll charge an arm and a leg. (But if you have a friendly dealer, they may know of a local locksmith that will do the keys for you)

Right indicator is Green with a Violet trace, Left Indicator is Green with a Red trace. Ground is Black. Stop lights are Red with a Black trace. Be aware that there is nowhere in the rear of the car where all those wires come together. You can get everything BUT the right indicator from behind the passenger side taillight. Get the right indicator signal from behind the drivers side tail light.

Great Wall V240 - 2010 All the gauges on the dash instrument cluster will all "turn off" for about 5 - 10 seconds at least once a day, however, the panel light stays on (if the car lights are on) when this happens. Any ideas? Is the dash cluster about to fail completely? What does the job involve, to replace the dash cluster panel.?

It's not hard to replace just have to take the plastic trim off around the cluster then a few screws then unplug cluster

I've seen other posts talking about the cluster needing to be programmed to my vehicle,... if I bought a working 2nd hand one, would anything on it work without any programming being done, or would the job have to be undertaken by an auto electrician defeating the object of me trying to do the replacement myself?

None of the V or X series need to have a new dash cluster "Programmed" to fit the car, simply pull the old unit out, wack a new one in and drive away. :)

You need to find the adjustment pulley it's only small one loosen it off an it will release The tension it's in the middle of the to big pulley wheels
