Is this safe and comfortable for a 9 month old?

InfaSecure
InfaSecure   DM

Hi Bokmakierie! The Rally is suitable for use from 6 months, however we recommend you try your child in the seat first to ensure that their shoulders reach the shoulder height marker. Alternatively, you might like to look at our range of 0-4 years and 0-8 years convertible carseats. If you need any further assistance, feel free to contact our customer care team on 1300 92 4632.

Thanks!

Is the rally suitable for a 2 year old to sleep in? If we were to go on a family holiday we would drive in his nap times would his head be lollying about?

Kristen Beagley
Kristen Beagley

I wouldn't recommend for naptime - there's no neck support as such and quite wide at the top so it doesn't catch his head as such. My son was way past napping in the car (or anywhere lol) when we bought it.

Sorry, was bought for occasional grandchild use, and she hasn’t slept in it.

Hi I'm a little confused does this car seat do up to 4 yrs or 8 yrs?

Hi, the seat should fit up to 8 years. My 5 year old daughter fits just fine.

I have a rally seat for my son (18 months old) and I am looking to take it on a flight to Singapore. Is it approved for air travel and if it is, how do I prove this to Qantas?

linden.rowe.1
linden.rowe.1

Hi, rally's aren't an approved seat for air travel. Seats that are have a green sticker with an airline on it stating that is safe to use in an aircraft. The other aspect to think about is our seats may not meet Singapore's standards and therefore illegal to use while over there.

Has anyone use the rally for a 6-month-old are the comfy in it can they still sleep?

I would highly recommend not using any 6 month to 8 year old convertible boosters for a 6 month old. Convertible boosters are able to be used from 6 months, but I wouldn't before 1yo. This is because the seat is huge, they are small and so much extra space that they can move in an accident. I would recommend continuing rearfacing- this is the safest for kids under 2yo and my 18 month old is still rearfacing- or at the least, forwardfacing in a 0-4 seat. Check out 'Child restraints. Is my child restrained correctly?' on Facebook. Hope this helps :)

What is the maximum height that this booster an accomodate. My 7yo is 129cm and I want to keep him in a booster or car seat until he reaches the 145cm he needs to be to sit safely in an adult lap-sash. Am I best to look at the Rallye or should I be looking at the evolve origin or th genesis deluxe? I also have a very tall 4 year old who is about 120cm tall so I need to plan for him also.

The Evolve and genesis have much higher height markers and will last a lot longer as a harnessed seat. The Rally also has good markers, but does swap to a booster at about 45cm seated height (of your child). Definitely go for the evolve or genesis given that your 4 year old can use the seat afterwards.

Does this recline for sleeping child? Easy to adjust, change cover etc

Mumtobub
Mumtobub

It has a recline on it but its not much.. the seats in my van recline in a way that I use a tightly rolled towel under the front and secure the seat tightly against that (as recommended by the fitter who originally fitted it for me).. the cover is easy to remove when the seat is out. It washes well. Im still very happy with it. My son has just started using it as a booster so the towel is removed and its on the recline option that comes with the seat. He sleeps comfortably in it. :)

Hello - what age range is this seat suitable for? My son is 3 1/2. I'm looking at getting a 4-8 year range seat. He really loved this one at BIG W. Thank you :-)

Hi Cathy. Restraints with height markers don't really go by age as the child must reach the marker to use it. At 3.5years it's very likely your son will fit. Although the law says a 4yo may be in a booster, they may also be in a full 6pt harness which the rally will definitely allow until your son is mature enough and big enough to handle a booster with adult seatbelt. My youngest son is 8.5 years old and is still safely harnessed in the Rally, he is a little on the small side tho. I would expect the average child would last until approximately 6-7 in the full inbuilt harness. You can then either choose to use the rally as a booster (when they reach the second from top marker) or move to a dedicated booster such as a Safe n Sound Hiliner. A child should never sit in an adult seat with seat belt until the pass the 5 Step Test - this is 100% a safety measure, as a child who is too small for an adult seat and belt runs the risk of severe injury or worse in the event of an accident.

Thanks so much for your reply. I definitely want to leave him in a harness as long as possible rather than go straight to a seatbelt. I think the Rally will be the one for us. Thanks for helping me to decide :-)

Does the rally kid have the anti submarining and other safety features that the racing kid has?

tismet36
tismet36

Inherently they are the same restraint. The Rally is exclusive to BigW. So to answer you question, yes! The rally has the same designed arm rests to provide anti submarine features when used with the adult seatbelt in booster mode.

Is there any convertible to booster seat that you would recommend for a 6month old from the infasecure range?

KRR
KRR

How far does it recline? Although it says from 6 months. What weight do you recommend ?

tismet36
tismet36

Hi. I would definitely NOT recommend this restraint for a 6month old. Although it does state that, it is what the standards say the manufacturer must say. I would recommend a 0-4 type restraint such as the Infa-Secure Neon to be outgrown before using a convertible booster such as the Rally. Although some younger children will "fit" the Rally an ideal age and weight would be 3-4 years and 14kg+. It is paramount that no child who does not meet the minimum use marker is to use this restraint. There is no maximum weight for the new 2010 standard restraints - it is height based only.

How do you secure it into the car I know it has the point at the back but does a seat belt go through it or anything like on the baby seats?

InfaSecure
InfaSecure   DM

Hi Emily! Yes, the seatbelt is threaded under the arm rests, through a little channel in the seat base, and out the other side. Hope that helps!
