Does the blue piece have to be flush with the white piece? I can get that without ice but not with.

The blue piece acts like a plunger. You have to press quite firmly down on it to get the ice through the shaver - once the ice is all shaved the blue piece will be flush with the main part. Hope this helps.

Hi rosie4170 - As mentioned by MelPar38, you do have to press down quite firmly to shave the ice. Please call our customer service team on 1300 139 798 to talk you through it if you're still not having any luck. Thank you, the Kambrook team.

It does not work it only shaves a little bit and stops. How does it work?

You have to push down on the block of ice with the top part. It does require a little bit of strength.
