I brought this wrong tin, my daughter is 3mths and i brought the karikare formula from 6mths. Can i still use it for her?
Hi Vanessa, Sorry to hear about this. The higher levels of protein and minerals in the stage 2 formula make it potentially unsafe for babies younger than 6 months. Please give us a ring on our toll-free number 1800 258268 and one of our dietitians/nutritionists will be happy to assist you.
Thanks - {Karinourish}
Keep it for later if unopened or most stores will take back if unopened
Hello, is there anywhere I can buy a few more tins as I know it's been discontinued.
Priceline or online
Dear Sir/Madam,
Our son is nearly 3 years old. From the time when he was a baby, he has been using Karicare stage 2 and still taking stage 2 even he was 2 years till now (3 years old) for all these years because he likes its taste (he doesn't like stage 3 or 4).
My questions are:
1. Whether stage 2 is inadequate for 3 years old, if yes, then 'Why'?.
2. What ingredients are essential for 3 years old which are missing in 'Stage 2' or less in quantity needed for that age?
3. What ingredients (essential for 2-3 years old) are missing in Stage 2 but can be found in 'Stage 4'? How lack of this
ingredients effect to development/growth of toddler?
Your answer is appreciated.
Regards,
Eddie Kawamura

Hi your questions have come thru to me for some reason. Im just a mum that reviewed a karicare formula i found good. You should ask karicare direct these questions via email or their helpline phoneline as they have professional advisers working there.
To me at three years he should be transitioned to fresh full cream milk from the fridge unless there is a medical issue that warrants not to.
I did this slowly by mixing the two changing by one scoop measurement every five days
ie if formula is 1 scoop per 30ml ( u need to check this they are all different ratios) i would leave out one scoop and 30ml water and add 30ml of fresh milk on make up
Gradually they got used to the different taste
Hi Eddie. We have emailed you. - Karicare Careline.
Hi! I am a mother of twins, babies are 11 weeks old. I had no enough breast milk to feed them. So from the start my babies on bottle feeding. Hospital recommended Nan pro gold but my babies are still unsettled. Winds. Farting always and really return smelly farts. Need to do lots of burping. They don't sleep long due to stuck of burps. Vomiting the milk after feed. They poo every second day explosive dark green poo. Tried gripe water. Seems not working. Babies pediatrician told it's not good to change formula, so worried to switch for another. Also I want to feed babies with formula which is similar to breast milk. Contains LCP's. Please help!
Hi! I feel your pain, it's very difficult with just one unsettled baby let alone two, all doctors say not to switch but they aren't the ones having to live the nightmare, no formula is like breastmilk it's all artificial not sure what is LCP sorry. I suppose you just get to a point where you go I have to give something else a try because this isn't working. I would say give one type of formula at least a few weeks if possible to see if they are going to get used to it. My daughter wasn't going to settle on any of the milks with casein in them and first daughter was exactly the same they were a bit milk sensitive but were fine by around the 8 month mark to go onto standard formula.
Just a thought is anyone lactose intolerant in your family because poo explosions can be lactose intolerance or overload. The comfort milk is lactose reduced but not free so if it doesn't help, you could try a lactose free one.
Best wishes!
We were told 'less is more'... we used Karicare comfort for a little while due to constipation and other issues, but those types of formula shouldn't be used as permanent solution. We were very happy with NAN comfort. The NAN pro gold and other formulas labelled with the word 'gold' contain Omega 3 and 6 chemically extracted from fish oil and a type of algae and that can sometimes upset bubs tummy as can be hard for some babies to process. Nan comfort doesn't have Omega 3 or 6 (there is no proven benefit from these add-ons anyway), has a probiotic (l. Reuteri) which is found in breast milk, is whey dominant and very gentle on tummy. Our little ones thrived on that! Try and give them a week to 10 days, that's how long it takes for them to settle on something new :) Good luck!!
Hi Nish,

Can this be giving for every feed?
My daughter lived on it from 8 weeks to about 8 months when she was able then to transition gradually to a standard 60/40 whey/casein formula.
If your concerned call the Karicare assistance line I found them a great help
I can't find this anywhere on the central coast, my son gets terribly constipated and this formula worked great. I'm on my 3rd different brand since not finding karicare comfort they all give him constipation. Help please?
Hello there! We had constipation issues at some stage and NAN Comfort I fixed the problem with both my daughters :) It's a very gentle formula for the tummy and it worked a treat. IF that doesn't work, try a non-gold formula, just a plain basic one. The nurses were telling me that gold formulas sometimes cause tummy trouble including constipation. Good luck!
Yes Coles has decided not to stock this anymore, Priceline or chemist warehouse if you have them, I'm having trouble getting at the moment due to low supply at karicare. I had to order online from cincotta chemist or its either pharmacy direct or chemist direct which are karicares main online reseller. Karicare tells me a shipment is due towards end of oct which we are nearly there, I have started slowly changing my baby to belamys organic stage 1 as she is now 8-9mths it's going ok but we r only doing 1 scoop change every three days, so we are up to 240mls a day of it with the rest comfort milk good luck constipation is dreadful, I use Coloxyl drops when she misses a day of no 2 xx
Thank you both so much! I tried bellamys organic that blocked him up also and just this week discovered the nan comfort, oh my goodness, it's working! Reminds me a lot of the karicare one in texture, colour and smell. Cheaper too. And available at Coles. Thank you both so much I sincerely appreciate your help. It's tough working out formulas!
My 3mth old is in Aptamil gold HA, he poos every day or second day and when he does its a massive explosion. He has no trouble sleeping at night but has started waking every morning with tummy pains, he does a big fart and goes back to sleep. Im finding hes getting more and more irritable and more and more pains when he needs to fart, any suggestions?
Hi you did not say how long he's been on the HA one for, I can't advise what you should do but I can tell you of my experience with the HA I found it was very high in lactose and my baby suffered from multiple water poos a day from lactose overload, she was much better on the comfort one as it is still whey but reduced lactose, she did have runny poos but not water it was more solid but it took a few weeks to change totally - once a day for a while but she was not in discomfort settled well and although she was a bad day catnapper slept brilliantly at night so I just lived with the poonarmis it did sort itself out after a while and is now great she is on solids which I started slowly at 16 weeks and have found it was the best thing for her to start early with safe foods. She is still on the comfort milk at 7 mths however I am planning a trial onto standard formula from 8mths. if your worried go and check with your go or pediatrican. Best of luck it does get better
Just another thought maybe try some more burping to see if it makes any difference get the wind out before it creates lower problems, I used to have to burp every 30mls and try numerous positions to get it as soon as she did one I would give bottle back ASAP so she eventually got to know what I wanted from her and the whole process got much quicker. It's amazing how windy such a little thing can get, also check teat flow you mentioned he's three months now is your bottle system teats go up a level at that age? mine did - if its too hard/slow for him now he's bigger he could be sucking in more air than he should. anyway just a few thoughts you may have already covered yourself but might not of thought of xxx
Thanks for your reply! Hes on a slow teat cos he chokes on the nxt size up :(
Ive ended up trying Karicare plus, he seems to be tolerating it okay so far, he even poo'd without a whole deal of trouble. Will keep it going for a week or so :)
Please can someone help me.... my baby is not going #2's regular, is Karicare+ Comfort the recommended formula for this?? And also can this be a formula that they have every feed?
