Thats the installers fault , not the product. I would get incontact with karndean themselves and explain what's happened, and hopefully they can rectify it.

Hi Karen, Thanks for your question! There should be no issues with the design strips being installed as an integrated part or design of the flooring system, However, the design and or feature strips being installed must be installed to the same installation guides as our installation documentation.

The strips like the flooring must be acclimatised as per installation guides & installed to a wet film of adhesive & rolled.

Hi John, Thanks for your question! We have 30 designs in our Korlok and Van Gogh rigid core formats. Rigid core is the name of our hybrid planks that click together with our 5G Locking Mechanism, which means quicker installation and doesn't require glue or adhesive. All of our products have great acoustic qualities to reduce noise transfer between rooms, are highly durable and 100% waterproof - unlike laminate.

We have had polyflor vinyl down for 10 years and loved it but the installer did a really bad job. We are looking at hybrid as well but cant find any reviews. Im concerned over the bad vinyl reviews here :(

Yes, same here....I was about to get the vinyl planks but after having read this I'm really concerned that the product won't hold up and the Kardean customer service won't do anything to fix it. Makes me very nervous. Did you decide to go with a Hybrid? What product? I've been looking at the Titan Hybrid.

Hi there, I’m not sure about the specific Karndean board you are thinking of laying but be assured that my Karndean vinyal planks have faded near windows and doors (as has numerous others which you can read about in the Reviews section). Also the top finish varies with wear and under rugs etc. Good luck and regards, PJ

We purchased Karndeen flooring for our new house we built.

We purchased our Karndean flooring as part of our house build - over 218m2 worth... although we have only had our flooring a short time, so if our opinion of our floor changes with time I will be updating our review. Our review should have been verified, I emailed a copy of our contract page when I submitted the review, this flooring cost us over $25k! I don’t understand why our review wasn’t verified.

Hi there, Thanks for your question. Generally speaking, LooseLay can be laid directly to yellow tongue if it is considered flat, level and firm. When in doubt or if the condition of the subfloor does not meet the requirements, an underlay such as Masonite will be required. Our recommendation is that you engage a professional installer who will be able to asses your subfloor and provide you with guidance for installation. Thanks again, Karndean Designflooring

The level of subfloor preparation required is really dependent on which of our product ranges you are wanting to lay and the condition of your pre existing flooring to begin with. For example, in many instances our Korlok products can be laid directly over pre existing surfaces with minimal preparation however, our Gluedown ranges often require more preparation or even the removal of pre existing flooring before installation to be laid successfully. The Designer Collection LLP133 Dalton

Our installation guidelines recommend laying flooring grade plywood or masonite over the top of your pre existing timber floorboards prior to installing your product over the top. We’ve installed spotted gum , disappointing, looks very plastic when viewed longitudinaly, hire a maid if you like it looking clean; view a floor that has been completed in the product you intend using, I’d give it a 7 out of 10, and given the option wouldn’t install it again.

Thanks Garry, spotted gum was our other choice. Sorry to hear it’s not as good as we had hoped. Will definitely follow up on getting in touch with someone who has recently had it put in, will ask the installer for a few contact numbers.

Hi, I have received a number of samples which was a great way of seeing more of the product. I did notice a lot of variation in colour with larger samples which made me a bit apprehensive about the overall effect. Will just wait and see how it goes and hoping it works out for the best. This is of course a reproduction of the natural varying tones seen in this type of wood.
