Hi, sorry I am unable to help with this question as we purchased the King Koil firm Bellagio II. We did try other mattresses in King Koil range, but we felt they were too soft for us. I don't even recall seeing the Platinum Posture Lisbon and an Intimate Providence at Harvey Norman. In my research I did find out that bed manufacturers seem to have a different name for the same bed at different bed retailers. Cheers Kevin

Thanks so much for your reply. It’s my first time on here and I thought I was talking to a rep haha. It’s such a minefield but narrowing it down slowly. How do you find the Bellagio 2 firm out of interest? It wasn’t something we were considering as we wanted a softer feel but there’s a really heavy discount on a floor stock model so now that’s been thrown into the mix.

Out of interest, I think the Lisbon has superseded the Bellagio 2 so basically the same mattress

You are best contacting A H Beard. The Australian owned company that makes them here. But best going and try them out. After 10 years, they will probably have different frame work and metal coils. So yeah, go and try out the latest ones. Lay on it for at least 10 minutes. Personally, I don't like mega soft where you sink into the pillow top. We just went with the medium firmness. Still soft and not too firm. Just right.

You sleep on a firm mattress, but in a plush mattress. More of the mattress is in contact with the sleeper, which will result in greater warmth. Hi Greg, Thank you for reaching out, and glad to hear you are considering one of our products. The Bellagio is a great choice with over 1,000 coils (690 primary + 345 active coils) for pressure relief and all over support. It features Gel infused memory foam as well as our Aerocomfort technology.

We have found purchasing a mattress to be very subjective, based on sleep style, and comfort preference. Some important things to consider when in-store are:

- Always test with your sleep partner present. - Lay on the mattress in your preferred position, be that stomach, back, side or a combination. - Spend as much time as possible testing. Not just 5 minutes. - As comfort is subjective, focus on the comfort of the mattress as well as the support, this can take 15-30 minutes. - Remember the mattress you try in-store is the future state of the mattress you are buying. So there will be some time needed to break in the foams to that level of comfort. - A plush feeling mattress is designed to contour and settle to your body faster than other comfort feels.

Hi Meryl Thank you for your enquiry. The Platinum Posture Dolce has been replaced by the Platinum Posture Bellagio. When going into store make sure you have 30 to 45 minutes to try the mattresses. Plush mattresses are designed to settle quickly as part of their performance profile whereas other feels will settle far slower. some tips when choosing a mattress instore: Step 1 Lay on the mattress in your preferred position. a. Side b. Back c. Stomach Think of a mattress from the foot of the bed in 3rd's Lay in each 3rds of the mattress. Third 1 and 3(left most and right most sides) provide you with the feel of what the mattress/bed in the future. The centre 3rd will give you what the mattress/bed will feel like when you bring it home. You will more than likely feel that the centre 3rd is firmer. Take your time. Comfort feel is very subjective. You have just selected the correct support for you. Once you have established which mattress and pillow provide proper alignment, then you're ready for step 2. Step 2 Time to select comfort. With spinal alignment in mind. Try different mattresses. Comfort is a subjective choice what feels amazing to someone will feel not so amazing to another. Keep trying mattresses until you have correct spinal alignment. Testing mattresses/bed for 20 to 40min. If this is not considered appropriately, customers complain of the following issues: a. Sore back b. Broken sleep post mattress settling in phase c. Constant tossing and turning. d. A complaint of general discomfort(nothing to do with the mattress more about selection) Step 3 Once you have the correct spinal alignment(sales assistance can help here) and have selected the mattress comfort, consider the following heat dissipation materials in the mattress. Remember, comfort is what gets you to sleep, and support is what keeps you asleep. What happens if I chose the wrong mattress comfort? We make most of our mattress/beds to be respecified for a fee. Just the mattress on its own is 35cm thick. If you add their base, including attaching the feet which they recommend doing, total height from the floor to the top of the mattress is 75cm. It's quite high. But you get use to it. Otherwise, just buy your own low lying base if that is too high. I'm 178cm tall, you kind of need to hop up onto the bed a bit. Looking back, I should have got a separate lower height base rather than the King Coil brand base.

Hi Colin52 That is the upper limit for a single person on a mattress. You may need to consider a super firm option unzoned. You can typically find these at all the major retailers. Hi Colin52 Thank you for your comments. I tend to agree with the comments around sleep apnea and mattresses on their own really have no impact on sleep apnea. There are so many other variables, mattresses by far are the least relevant to that condition. Choosing a mattress can be challenging. So, choosing a mattress/bed is crucial, and at every life stage, a different support system and comfort level may be required. It is not the one size fits all as some mattress suppliers may have you believe. Mistakes people make when selecting a mattress. a. Choosing comfort as the primary criteria over support. b. Choosing the "Ahhh this is amazing" in a few minutes c. Not considering sleep position (back, stomach, side) d. Not considering the other users of the sleep surface. e. Hi Thanks for getting in touch. Im grateful. Im sorry I dont know how to DM or where to go to do that. I went back into H Norman today to see if I had lost the plot and if the bed was the same feel as mine and why I wanted it. It was not the same as mine - it was soooo comfy. The salesman I bought the bed from was there tho and he was great. He explained they can take a month to break in but agreed something sounded odd so gave me the email of HN after sales bed person. I will write to them as he suggested as he said someone would come out and check it for me. I am hoping that will happen. I wouldn't go near Harvey Norman if I was buying anything. Warranties don't seem to apply ever. Get your beds from bed stores.

I have been told that as I cannot find the receipt for it, I cannot claim under warranty, pretty poor form considering I have had it since new, I remember unloading it from it’s plastic protective sleeve, and apart from the damage it’s in as new condition. What’s the point in a 10 year warranty when you won’t stand by it. You created it, it’s not like I am trying claim for a competitors mattress. And the range wasn’t even around 10 years ago. I can even give you the date I purchased August 2013 barely half way into the warranty period. Absolutely woeful experience.

Still Yet to hear back, what’s the purpose of a customer care team that doesn’t actually care. Luckily everyone else can see this chain of events. To be clear, I have been contacted once over 2 months ago and told my mattress would not be looked at as I don’t have a receipt. Since then I have contacted customer service 3 times on their request, and not heard a thing back. I noticed the amount of negative reviews online and come to the conclusion that you don’t honour your warranty, and your products are of poor quality. I’ll throw it in the bin and never purchase anything from your company again and ensure anyone that mentions the word mattress to me hears of your ineptitude as a company. Thanks for wasting my time.

I would classify it as a medium feel. I work in the bedding department of my store. It has got the main layer of pocketcoil springs, then a layer of mini coils on top to mold to your body contours better. It has got a latex layer in the comfort foams, along with other premium foams.

It has now been about 6 months or so since I bought the bed, and it has been awesome! I sleep excellently every night and never wake up with any aches or pains, and it hasn't dipped or formed divets.

If you can get in on a good deal, I would say go for it, because the models replacing this one don't come cheaply!
