Kingsdown Sleep to Live 800 Questions & Answers
VerifiedHow much is this mattress
Where do I purchase a sleep to live series 200 mattress in Australia
I have a series 800 with a blue and green side.. which side is supposed to be firmer? I’m on the green side and it’s too soft and has developed a pit
Why is this product discontinued? I recently purchased one and i hate it.
The Sleep to Live 800 was discontinued in September 2011 - when the name changed to a Series 8. The range in store at the moment is a My Side Series 8.
What a out he sleep to live 600 series was that also discontinued because the quality is terrible and the bd sags.
We just recently purchased a kingsdown sleep to live 2 weeks ago and was delivered 2 days ago. My side is green and his is red. My side is not as soft as the one i layed on in the store that was green. I have been tossing and turning to get comfortable because it feels hard. Is it gonna soften up? Not liking this bed as of now and was super excited to get it.
Speaking from my personal experience with the sleep to live bed, if you are still within the timeframe to return the bed, I would strongly recommend doing so ASAP. My bed was 2 different sides...Steel blue and Skye blue. It will definitely get softer, but it will also loose its support and you will hurt everywhere! When I called about my warranty, they told me that the store never should have sold me one with two different sides due to the way the bed is made. However, they refused to replace it because it didn't have a dip in it that was a total of 1.5 inches. Even though they said I shouldn't have been sold a bed like that, AND the noticeable difference in the actual mattress itself. The top is obviously out of shape and the sides have ZERO support, and it was impossible to lay on the bed without lying at an angle...and two people laying it would cause both people to sink in towards the middle of the bed, on top of each other...and not when you want someone on top of you!
Extremely disappointed in the bed and the lack of customer service or concern. Especially for the price they charge for the beds!!!
The mattress you have purchased is built to order, the foams and springs are still firm and will settle and soften over the next few weeks. We generally say that it takes 6-8 weeks for the mattress to soften and for you to adjust to your new sleep surface. Please ensure you are using a minimum 50cm depth sheet and mattress protector. Tight linen will make the mattress feel firmer. Depending on which Snooze store your mattress was purchased from , the floor stock in most stores are now 12 months old and will feel softer then your new mattress. With regard to the reply from JVL - we don't stock the mattress they are referring to as their example.
@ Kingsdown Official - "With regard to the reply from JVL - we don't stock the mattress they are referring to as their example." Are you saying my kingsdown sleep to live bed has been discontinued, or are you saying my bed was not made by you and was not built to order, or something else? I'm not sure what you meant by your statement.
We were sold a sleep to live mattress approx 6 years ago. We are retired and wanted a very good last mattress as we suffer from bad backs. We want to the snooze store and they sold it to us for $3,800, we have never before paid so much for a mattress. Since then we have not had a good nights sleep, we are lying in deep gullies and get up the next day so stiff and sore and hunched over. We would like to know how long is the warranty on the mattress and do we have any claim at all?
Your mattress has a 10 year manufacturing warranty. Please contact the Snooze store you purchased the mattress from ands they will be able to assist you lodging a warranty claim.
Contact them:) mine is the same age and they replaced mine for a new one x
They replaced mine at one year.. It has a ten year warranty but it has to measure to their specs for them to warranty it at all..
good evening,i have just bought a second hand Kingsdown body system 2 king ensemble...do you have any info regarding this mattress and can you use both sides?...have just read the reviews and i do feel the hump in the middle but thought turning the mattress over it may be eliminated..and what does make the mattress hot?..any info would be appreciated as i was not aware of the brand prior to the purchase..thanks Margaret Hadley
Thank you for your questions. We are happy to assist with answering these. For us to properly advise you on the product you have purchased, we would need to know the exact model, this can identify this by it's manufaturing date on the law tag which if still attached, should be located at the head sleeping end of ther mattress. If it is no longer attached, you can contact us via email at info.aus@kingsdown.com and attach a photo of the product. We made that particular mattress for some years and over that time the product evolved, so it is important we give you the correct information specific to your product.
In relation to your question using both sides, it would depend if the product was double sided or single sided as more modern mattresses are today, meaning it had 2 sleep surfaces and could be flipped, or single sided, meaning you can only use 1 sleep surface. We had both types of models using that name between 2004 - 2008. Again, once we can identify the model, we can advise you accordingly.
Premium conforming mattresses, such as ours can exhibit a body signature or body impression over time, this is usually normal for a mattress of this type. Body signatures are the impressions where you usually sleep. The raise in the centre of the mattress is normally where the product is least used and therefore can be described as you have. As the product is second hand, it is hard to know how the product was used and how the previous owners used the sleep surface. You may be able to wear the product more evenly if it is a flipable mattress or if you can use the centre of the mattress for sleeping or resting.
Our company originates from the USA and was founded in 1904 where we still operate. We have been operating in Australia since 2003 and currently our products are sold exclusively through Snooze. Here is our website if you wish to obtain further information about our company and brand.

Thank you again for your questions, please feel free to contact us on the email above if you require any further information.
To answer your question.... the bed cannot be flipped over or rotated. The system is designed to provide support at your back, hips etc where you are the heaviest. this prevents you being able to flip or rotate it.
wHAT MAKES IT SO HOT? Its the foam or latex it is built out of.
The hump in the mattress will not go away.... why?
because if you have 2 people in the bed all of the time, i very much doubt that one of you will opt to sleep on the couch while the other spends the next 6 months sleeping on the hump, trying to even it out.
Does KINGSDOWN make a 600 "Sleep To Live " mattress with the same comfort level on the left and right side?
im not sure if they make a 600.... they can make the sides have the same comfort level
The Kingsdown 600 Sleep to Live is no longer available no Australia. The My Side range is the equivalent and yer we can manufacture a mattress with the same comfort and support on both sides. The mattresses are sold exclusively through Snooze.
I bought my mattress 4 years ago due to my husband and i both having bad backs. It has been the most uncomfortable mattress ive ever slept on. Due to the hump that has developed in the centre of the mattress, it has made the sides of the mattress slope witg no support, i have actually fallen out of bed during the night. I cant believe i paid so much for a mattress, that is a piece of crap. Given what i've read in previous comments is it even going to be worth contacting the store i bought it from. I dont want my mattress repaired or replaced with another the same, id rather a refund or store credit to purchase a different brand. A better brand
Depending on the store you bought it from... we got it from Snooze. They refused to give store credit so I made them replace the mattress and once I got a brand new mattress, I sold it on Gumteree as a brand new mattress at a fraction of the cost to pay for my replacement mattress. I have to say, the $500 'no frills' king size mattress that I bought as a replacement has been great!! no soreness, body impressions etc.
my advice si to push for a new one... sell it and not be out of pocket too much when buying a replacement.
Ask the store for a Loan mattress until your complaint is resolved. You will find that they will send you a basic mattress and you will have a great nights sleep
Yes it is a expensive piece of crap but do contact them as they have fixed the hump in the middle. We are on our third mattress still would never buy another good luck.
hard getting over the hump isn't it
As recommended by "Sleep to live" systems, I bought series 4 red/blue for about $ 2000 on 29/06/2014 from Snooze at Dandenong south, VIC.
On delivery day, I found that mattress "springs" are making noise and are softer than expected. I checked the base and carried out all examinations to ensure that noise is coming from mattress. later, I submitted my warranty claim, have been following up since and have been advised that mattress can be repaired but no replacement!!
Did I pay 2 grands to have a repaired noisy mattress ????
Interestingly, It did not happen even a week after deliver, the product was faulty from the first day....Since last night, I noticed mattress is not comfortable anymore and back pain is started!
Low quality product, full of supervises, poor warranty
Can anyone from Kingsdown find this claim and have the mattress replaced for us with a functioning mattress??
Dear Mehdi, thank you for your question. Your mattress is being bought back to the factory to be assessed for noise from the springs. If we find that there is a fault that cannot be repaired we will be more than happy to replace your mattress. As a spring noise, (if this is the fault) is not a major structural issue, we are able to repair the mattress to new without replacing. Once the mattress has been assessed at the factory we will contact you to discuss the outcome.
