Koala Mattress (2016-2020) Double Questions & Answers
VerifiedMy son bought a Koala mattress approximately 12 months ago and loves it. Recently he decided to take leave from work and travel around Australia. I decided that his room needed a good clean. When I removed his mattress from the base, I discovered that the under part of the mattress was soaking wet and that a slight mould problem had started to occur on the base. His room is ventilated by an open window. Why would this happen?
I’m guessing he experiences night sweats? I have a reasonably well ventilated room and have not experienced this with my Koala mattress. Koala’s customer service is top notch so I’m sure they’ll help you, if they can.

Is there a mattress protector that pairs well with a Koala Double Bed Mattress?
G'day Andrew, A breathable, waterproof mattress protector is a great option to protect your mattress. Look for a protector with a natural fibre content to ensure that it is breathable and keeps you cool. Tencel is a great option because it absorbs moisture efficiently and provides an unfavourable environment for bacterial growth for added protection.
Sweet dreams, The Koala Dream Team.
Can we machine wash the mattress cover?
Hi Vera,
We recommend that you spot clean your Koala cover for smaller spills. If you need to clean the whole mattress cover you can wash this on a warm wash, no higher than 40 degrees.
Sweet dreams, Koala Dream team
Thank you so much for the reply, I have spot cleaned the stain and will wait for the wet area to dry thanks again
