My kuvings b6000 juicer doesn't push the solid waste out properly but the juice gets strained properly what to do in this case?

Caroline
Caroline · Whole Slow Cold Press B6000

The shoot cracked near the base about 2” away from, to the right, the close printed word.. got a new shoot and turned it on to start juicing heard a tap noise and saw a crack in the new one in the approximately same spot.. the shoot and attached cup with strainer does move slightly when turned on.. any ideas why another one cracked?

Hi. I cut the beet in 4 parts and when putting the first piece it got stuck in such a way that the lid would not open no matter what we tried. Has anyone had this happen? Tried calling for help but customer service only works Mon-Fri 9-5. Very annoying to not have a way to open the machine in some other way

Adrian
Adrian

The reverse mode normally does the trick. Also the harder the beetroot, the more trouble for the machine. Tips include soaking in water first for atleast a few hours. Buying ones that are softer (I just squeeze them in the shop and buy the softest), or if they are all hard leave them on a window sill for 3-4 days and they should soften.

If you MUST juice them when they are rock hard, cut them up so they get mashed into juice a little easier.

Also, the more you load in, the more the thing gets clogged up. You can see how slow the pulp ejects from the bowl, so don't add produce too quickly or the SLOW juicer gets overloaded.

Hope this helps!

I am considering purchasing a Kuvings juicer. Is the juice extracted pulp-free? Thanks

Deb

Hi Nic, no there is always pulp in juice. I also find it a pain to clean. I wouldn't recommend.

Would this machine or other model be suitable for making soy milk?

I didnt have any crack and is easy to remove the lids

Have you call them as they give you 5 years on parts

Definitely contact them re warranty and parts. My guess is that you "may" have inadvertently assembled it incorrectly? Before operation I always quickly double check everything is aligned to the red dot and all is snug including the silicone plug. Cheers

Yes I've assembled it correctly and doing everything right, I can no longer use it now which broke a 14 day juice fast

I have been plagued with problems so far we have had three bowls break and two lids break Even after we modified how we prepare the food and delivery rate. Their website states that juicing grapes is easy, we have yet to experience this, even after soaking our seedless grapes and pureeing them in a food processor we still had problems with the exit chute becoming clogged. The only solution I found was after seeing the new improved C7000, was to cut the silicone plug at the chute off so that their is no impediment to pulp escaping. this has no effect on amount of juice retained.

Shortly after though the pulp from celery, apples and other vegetables did cause the bowl and top to crack again in the same fashion as previous

Now I am taking Kuvings to VCAT for failing to honour their ten year parts warranty

How good is the Kuvings C7000 at juicing leafy greens such as spinach and kale? My old kuvings was just OK in this regard as it produced a lot of froth ,particularly with spinach

Hollyleaf
Hollyleaf

Richard, It does juice them and we do it for this every morning. However, the stalks need to be removed and whole carrots interspersed with the greens help to move it all through the juicer. It does produce froth but I like that!

I can't remember if our is the Kuvings B6000 or C7000. We bought the latest model in March 2016.

I bought the B6000, so I can't really speak specifically about the C7000, however my observation is that machines of this type of design (vertical augur) do not process green leafy vegetables nearly as well has the horizontal augur designs, but the tradeoff is the mess and clean up of the horizontal type machines (and there is a fair bit of prep required there too). Personally, the B6000 works very well for me because I am juicing apples, pears, pineapple, kiwis, tomatoes, watermelon, citrus and similar 90% of the time. The other 10% I can put up with preparing the greens appropriately and making sure they are as fresh as they can be. If I was mainly doing fibrous greens I would choose a different design of machine, and if it was a 50/50 proposition I would contemplate having both kinds.

Patrick! Thankyou for your comments it is much appreciated. I have been juicing or the past two and a half years on a regular basis averaging three juicing sessions per week .It takes me a good 2 hours 'each juicing' and about 40 minutes of this time is spent cleaning up which does include miscellaneous dishes etc

So the cleaning up is significant. I was swaying towards a more dedicated greens juicer such as a horizontal auger but as you have suggested the proportion of greens versus 'others 'does need to be considered. I am now thinking more along the lines of the current Kuvings vertical augers. I must say that the post purchase service provided by this company has been excellent

Thanks again for taking the time to assist

Richard

I recently bought C7000 after a lot of research and so far so good, not much froth, gives enough juice out of greens as well, hasnt stopped while juicing. I havent used b6000 as heard a lot of negative reviews. Regarding cleaning I agree the green brush doesnt clean that well and you have to still clean with the other brush provided. In US it comes with a strainer as well but not in australia. ( Aus model doesnt have the funnel or strainer)

Kuvings has three juicers to choose from depending on the volume of juices you make per day. B6000, C7000 and CS600. One B6000 is good for cafes who juice 30 juices per day. As your business grows you may wish to upgrade to the C7000 or the CS600. There is a substantial price difference but for a good reason. More and more juice bars, cafes and restaurants are converting to cold press juicing, once they understand the difference in taste, the higher yield result and when their customers are requesting cold press juice. I would recommend the C7000 model for professional use as the juice is fine with less pulp and the yield is higher. If you need to run your juicer more than 1 continuous juicing and plan on bottling the juice then I recommend the CS600, as the CS600 will juice 40 litres per hour continuous for 8 hours. A lot of cafes and juice bars are bottling the juice as cold press juice will last for 3 days in the fridge if stored in a glass sealed bottle. If you have further questions please call Kuvings on 02 97980586 to help you more.

No do not bother with the B6000 i firmly believe that with the amount of resign evident in the C7000 that we were all guinea pigs to test the faults and shortcomings of this B6000 paper weight You will not enjoy the amount of time spent cleaning the B6000 either

Has anyone attempted making nut milks using this juicer?

kmitchell_Vic
kmitchell_Vic

Sorry I haven't, I used my Thermomix for making nut milk. I think I would be reluctant because there are plastic parts to this juicer, so if I ever wanted to make a juice for someone with a nut allergy I would be worried about cross contamination, whereas with the Thermie, its stainless steel so I don't have to worry about that risk.

Nez
Nez

I would recommend against it, nuts would damage the parts.

What is the difference from this b6000 to the 3000 model?

Meli

I spoke to a Kuvings rep who said it's just the exterior design - the base is a different shape. Apparently all internal and working parts are identical between the two models.

Hi..I am wanting to buy a new juicer as the one I own does not juice Kale, Spinach or celery very well..I am wondering how well the Kuving whole juicer performs when juicing theses vegetables?..Thank you for your time..

Dedbny
Dedbny

Hi Sharon, We havent tried those vegetables. I know most juicers have issues with them as the celery is very stringy. You need to use fresh celery. Id look at some YouTube reviews or sea whether some users have tried celery or Kale. Sorry I cant help. We have only used whole fruits and it works really great. No issues. Maybe I can try it later today. When were you thinking of getting one.

Nez
Nez

Hi Sharon - I'm more than happy with my kuvings for Kale / spinach (pretty much all leafy greens) but just not celery as it gets caught up due to its stringy texture (more annoying than beneficial!). I wholeheartedly recommend the kuvings & think you will be pleased with your purchase if you buy it. It's expensive - but keep your eyes out for sales as mine was $150 cheaper than normal in Harvey Notman for no other reason than its colour. I searched online & figured out prices don't change too much - so if you see it cheap, it's worth it!

Andrew
Andrew

Kuvings Whole Slow Juicer does juice Spinach and Kale quite easily. Just remember put the stem in first and the juicer will drag the vegetable through., Be patient as it juices the greens so it can extract the maximum amount of Juice and the pulp will come out super dry. Remember the Kuvings Whole Slow Juicer has a torque over 300 which means lots of power and strength giving the best possible juice. In comparison the motor is 50% stronger than most other juicers.

Is this machine also suitable for making smoothies with leafy greens like kale and spinach?

Thanks

Nez
Nez

Hi Jill, i have both a vitamix blender & a kuvings juicer & although you definitely can juice them in the kuvings - time wise I tend to use my vitamix instead. The kuvings juicer is really great for juices, but if you are looking more for smoothies (eg thicker drinks) then this may not be best option.

Hi. i was just wondering if i can ask you .... when you bought the juicer, when you opened the box, did you notice a strong chemical or plastic smell? i'm currently looking for a vertical slow juicer. the other day i saw one in a store (not this one) and when i opened the box to examine it more closely, i was totally knocked out by the chemical smell coming from the juicer. it was gross. it seemed to be coming from the auger and plastic casing. so i was wondering, did this one stink like that when you opened the box? thanks so much in advance for your time.

Dedbny

Dont think I noticed any strong plastic smell at all. Should be fine when cleaned and used.
