Orthokinetic Mattress Range Questions & Answers
VerifiedHas anyone had any lucky in getting a refund or exchange for the terrible sagging of these mattresses. I brought a Orthokinetic Arlo Queen Medium support in January 2023 & I’m the only person sleeping in the bed, weigh 70kg & work in the mines so bed has only been slept in for 1 yr in total as I’ve been in the mine camp the rest of the time. Worst sagging I’ve experienced in any mattress I’ve purchased.
Perhaps someone has been using it while you are away but hopefully not. Turn the mattress head to toe every few months and check the beam supports under the bed. I have the same mattress as you and Orthokinetic mattresses are like a fine tuned Porsche as compared to a scooter. Best mattress I have ever owned! I hope the head to toe mattress turn solves your issue. There is a long life warranty on these mattresses so contact your place of purchase for a new replacement if the problem continues. Cheers!
Suggesting that someone’s mattress might have been secretly used by others while they're away - especially in a thread asking for product advice - isn’t just unhelpful, it’s disrespectful. Nichole, your question is valid. The contextual information is clear and relevent. It's unfortunate when forums meant for support and transparency get responses that feel more like deflection than dialogue.
My experience with the Orthokinetic Apollo mattress matches what you’ve described with the Arlo. In less than 12 months, it was impossible to get a good night sleep on it due to the sagging. I initiated a warranty claim after 14 months. The after sales care I've received has appalled me. It appears Amart/Sleepeeze put significant effort in to NOT progress warranty claims. My experience so far has been that email replies take two+ weeks (longest delay so far was almost 8 weeks). The email replies then request documents and/or photos that were attached to the email they are responding to and/or earlier emails, while assuring me that once they receive the requested documents, they will progress my claim. This does not appear to be factual as they received the requested documents from me four months ago.
The King Orthokinetic Apollo Plush mattress I purchased from Amart did not provide the quality of product I expect. Amart have not demonstrated the ethical conduct or provided the level of after sales care I expect. I will not purchase from Amart again. I will avoid purchasing from the other companies owned by their parent company, Quadrant Private Equity.
Looking at the warranty it does not cover sagging. I haven't bothered with a warranty claim as the sagging is not covered unfortunately, I bought this bed as the Amart saleseman really pushed the orthorkinetic mattress with my back issues. After 2 years, the mattress finally wore in. I thought I had bought a great mattress as it didn't make me feel worse when my back was playing up, but 2 years in and only one person sleeping on it (everywhere and 40 odd kgs) and regularly turning it, I still managed to get a dip because i slept on the one side for a bit (6-8 weeks) because that side was closest to the ensuite (I was crippled). Now that it appears to have finally worn in I wake up everyday in pain. If I could do over i would not buy this mattress unless it never wore in and got dips.
How long have orthokinetik mattresses been around?
Has anyone taken the pillowtop off their ortho kinetic? Thinking of taking off the pillowtop and getting a new one. Ours is 10 years old, but it sounds as though they will do nothing about the two dips in either side. We are pensioners who bought this thinking it was a good investment for our backs as we age. Now we wake up every morning with a bad back.
We thought about doing this but decided against it as you have to literally wreck the mattress and don't know if it would do any good or even how to do it
I'm hoping someone can tell me what depth fitted sheet fits this queen mattress? My sheet set has about a 40cm deep wall, but it won't stretch to go over the 4th corner
You will have to get the deep sheets. A normal size sheet will not fit
Thanks Nancy, I've just been on the phone to Spotlight and they had no idea. You don't know what the measurement is for the deep sheets do you?
I find the king size sheet sets a much better fit, especially down the sides.
can you please let me know how heavy the mattress weighs.
It's quite heavy, unlike other mattresses.
Other mattresses are just as heavy, it purely depends on the filling inside. Latex for example is extremely heavy and this has parts of it (a blend) I believe. Mine was extremely comfortable new but after years (it isn't even half the warranty of 15 years old) it has sagged and hurts my neck and back.
Unfortunately I bought it based on it was backed by the Chiropractic Association, however I know they would have tested it and gone based off that (as it was fantastic new and 180 days trial is unheard of) as you cannot test a product for years.
I'm doing a warranty claim now, if they give me a positive experience I'll leave a positive review otherwise I'll be leaving a negative like the others.
But a lot on here have reviewed without making a warranty claim.
@Aussiebloke34 for getting anything back as part of warranty. I only got so many excuses from them.
I have a orthokenetic mattress on a slat base we told them we were side sleepers but are waking up in night having to change sides as we are getting hip pain would the matching base make a difference
For those people who owned an Orthokinetic Splendour Medium mattress that began to sag after a period of time, could you please let me know what the company did to compensate you for the faulty product. ?This has happened to my hubby and myself and we are about to start the process of a refund/replacement mattress. What did Sleepmaker do to compensate you for the problems mentioned in the reviews, namely sagging/sinking of the mattress?
No
Sorry I got the bad one.
Not sure if you can see my review but I went through the full process and rejected stating it is normal part of the life of a mattress. Ridiculous after only 18 months and $2000
Have had my queen medium for 3 years and it started sagging quite a while ago. It's terrible I never wake up not feeling sore, worst mattress!!
We purchased an Orthokinetic Arlo medium king mattress and it was delivered yesterday. It came with a tear on the top when delivered. I’ve contacted Amart and are awaiting a response back. Can anyone give me any feedback on this type of mattress as the reviews are mostly about grandeur plush.
In my opinion anything orthokinetic are very average and useless warranty process that will never be in your favour.
Thank you for your reply, l’ve only slept on it for one night but l did get very sweaty. The mattress gets very hot.
Are these still available
is there any damaged done to the mattress if the mattress get soaked in water from a leaking roof?
Ultra Stratus sagging on both sides after 4 years. Has 15 year warranty. Complaining to Amart See how I go.
Just wondering how you went and did you get a positive resolution? I’m currently experiencing with what sounds like the same issue.
I'm seriously concerned reading the reviews after just spending a lot of money on one of the mattresses why are they still for sale if they are so bad
Hi Pam, I’ve had mine for nearly 3 months and I love it. I’ve bought the Apollo plush, which is soft though cause I hate hard beds, so not sure what you want. Yes, you do have to rotate the mattress every two weeks, like every mattress, to make sure you don’t get uneven sinking or uneven wear. I’ve done that with every mattress I’ve ever owned. My sales lady told me if I had any problems, the store manager would take back my mattress and give me a new one until I was satisfied, whether this is true or not, I don’t know, but it sold me.
hi i just got this exact mattress and i feel like first nights sleep it is way way way harder then the one i tried in store.... did you find this??
I had the same problem, finding the mattress super hard compared to the shop one, does it soften after time?
No it doesnt soften over time. It stays hard and uncomfortable.. Feels nothing like the mattress they have instore to try. Dodgy Chinese made rubbish!!
i have the $1600 one and was super firm and i wanted it that way, now its a bit softer and still love it and thats 2 years on.
dont understand why so many bad reviews.
Ours is horrible. Exact same issues as everyone else. Sagging and we are both having back issues., Currently started the warranty process. I don't hold much hope. Will never buy another one.
We purchased the orthokenetics Aspen support. I believe what we tried in store IS MOT what we received. I recently had a hip replacement and brought this mattress prior. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I can feel some of the springs digging into me. I cannot sleep perly and haven't slept properly in months. And now with my new hip. It's no better. Now I also have upper and lower back pain. Is anyone else feeling the same sensations? It just dosent feel right to me!
We are in the process of ordering a New Orthokinetic Octovia mattress, is this a New Style as I can't see any listing for this particular one??? Also any feed back on the comfort & support would be appreciated.
It is 3 years old it started to sink after about 18mths, the warranty doesn't cover sinking if you read the fine print the 10 year warranty is a joke I had to put a mattress topper on it which cost me $700 for a decent one The 100 day sleep guarantee is another joke they told me you have to wait at least 3 mths for the body to adjust then it just became to much of a hassle to change it you have to pay for it to be picked up and for it to be redelivered and if there is a price difference I am now going to by a sleeping duck after my friend swears by hers at half the price even if it lasts the same amount of time its worth it
Thank's so much for your reply, I think we might have to look at something else
Dont buy this brand - made in China!! And like all chinese products its absolute garbage. So uncomfortable, we wake with back pain every day. Buy Sealy or Sleepmaker or any other Aussie made brand...
Thank you for your information, we're going to look at something else
I’m really concerned after reading these reviews about a very expensive orthokinetic support mattress I purchased . Sept 2020. I was unaware of all the issues that folk have experienced - including needing to turn mattress fortnightly fir first three months !! Dies anyone have anything positive to say re these support mattresses also I noticed some of the review are older than 2020 have they improved since then as in has the company making them made changes to the problem ? . Regards Annenarie
They are made in China and absolutely the worse overpriced mattress. No positives at all.
What do you think in general about Orthokinetic Octavia plush Queen mattress anyone
Have you had any answers of this type of mattress yet please
Is this bed good for lower back pain?
Plush or medium are NO GOOD. Some reviews state that firm is OK. Personally would not buy any Orthokinetic!!
**Prestige Opulence Plush**
Who has one in this specific range? Is it any good?
I'm just curious why these mattresses have such a negative review. We just purchased 3. I am really concerned
Cirrus and Nimbus were discontinued a long time ago and keeping the reviews up badly reflect upon the current range which is consistently popular and endorsed by the Chiropractic and Psteopathic College Of Australisia.
Just wondering what the mattress is really like as I have just purchased it waiting for delivery
Unsure about the classic but splendour support was horrible and if u check reviews for the Orthokinetic brand it’s scary..Hope u do not have to suffer like we did
I have read reviews, but it comes down to every ones different
Orthokinetic mattress make my night sleep fell horrible my back was very hot .
Originally I purchased the splendour plush mattress, it was a comfortable mattress but because it was a plush mattress I found it very hot & I exchanged it for a prestige resplendence mattress and I'm more than happy with it.
Why do sales people rave about warranties when they're not worth the paper they're written on? After buying a standard Cirrus my joints deteriorated very quickly & I had 2 knee replacements in 4 wks just a few mths after. Amart replaced it with a Cirrus Med. I could not get comfortable so bought an expensive topper. Still no joy, so bought a bamboo topper. Back disintergrated to the point I spent 3 mths in hospital. I couldn't photograph the bed so nothing could be done. When I did get back it had been 2 years,& was told warrantly had run out. I hadn't slept in it for months as I couldn't stand the agony & now have to buy a new mattress. I've tried on quite a few occasions to sleep on it but a family member has had to get me out of it to stop me yelling he house down in pain. I've tried other mattress without this problem. Don't get me wrong, they look great, but my one proved deadly for my back and my finances. I can barely walk permanently now & only with a pusher or crutches. My back is done. I have to start again. Totally sux. Ten years warranty my foot.
