Hi I own a Oscar VitalMax DA 900. Is it normal to stop during juicing cool down then start working again?. Only juiced a litre and it has stopped twice. Now waiting to see if it will start again. Or does it sound like its on its way out?

Looks like you may have a problem with the machine or the contents could be too large. I would not have another Oscar Vital Max as the strainer broke twice. It cost $130 to replace and only lasted less than 1 year. Very disappointed with this product.

I love mine, but this probably is the largest amount I have processed in a while. Would love to hear from anyone, or know if this is something that the machine is supposed to do when it gets a little hot. stop and recuperate ????

Hi Sue, Thank you for getting in touch. Sorry to hear that you have some concerns with your Oscar 900. As long as you are juicing correctly ie cutting the produce small enough, ensuring the parts are cleaned properly, not overloading the drum etc the juicer should not suddenly stop unless it has been on for over 30 minutes.

As per the manual, it is not recommended to use the juicer for longer than 30 minutes consecutively without allowing it to cool down.

If the above doesn't apply to you and there are still power issues while juicing there could be an issue with the juicer.

I have a Oscar D900 which I was not really using, so sold it to someone. They now complain that their is still some juice in the pulp. Can you perhaps explain that for me, as I think it is normal?

The problem with my Oster VitalMaxDA900 was the plastic strainer . After 2 years use I had to replace it at a cost of over $ 100 then a year later it broke again but I would not consider renewing it again at that high cost. I did not have any juice go into the pulp . Hope this helps.

Hi Beth, thanks for your question. If the pulp is really wet then there might be an issue with minute particle build up in the mesh holes on the strainer. This can have a big impact on the wetness of the pulp. Sometimes parts inside the juicer which are not very obvious may have little ware and tear which can effect the juice in the pulp. Other than that it is hard to tell with out actually feeling and seeing it. I hope this has helped. Please ask if you have any more questions. I do not know how to send a photo. All that is happening is the when I have finished juicing there is a lot of pulp (saturated in juice) stuck on the auger. This is happening every time now, beginning a few months ago.

Hello I have found out that I am not cutting the more fibrous vegetables eg celery, small enough. (apparently in the manual). After doing this the problem has improved 80%. The drum/guide and auger won't come away from the machine.The drum/guide does move ok between off and on but won't let me remove it. The auger does rotate but let me remove it. We can still juice though. Advice please. Thank you very much.

It sounds as if it is all gummed up. .normally removes very easy. Turn the lock nut to open and mayb dribble a bit of vinigar into the area. Only a small amount as it is close to the motor. Vitallufe at byron bay are extremely helpfull. I am impressed with their service. Hope this helps

Hello Bon, great question! It is absolutely fine to use the pasta nozzle after using the mince attachment. Just be sure to feed through slowly to give the mince time to feed through the holes in the nozzle and not overload the juicer. Kind Regards, Vitality 4 Life
