I have 4 almost 1 year old indoor cats. I currently use 3 x 60 litre containers which I fill 3-4 inches deep with clumping litter (10-15 litres). Would I need to use the same amount of your product, and if so, is it available in larger quantities than 6.5 kg?
Can you please explain the difference between the 24/7 performance and the instant action in regards to how the formula is different? I have seen that the 24/7 is for bigger households and slower release fragrance and instant action is better for apartments. But is that the only thing that differs (the fragrance)? I tried the instant action and have found the smell very overpowering. My biggest issue is tracking around house. Am currently trying out new litters but do not want to spend $20 again if the formulas are not that different!
Thanks
Hello, I find that the fragrance of this product is too strong, permeates everywhere in the home and out and is stomach churning. Even the cat will not go to the toilet in the tray when using this product, because of this I can not use this product anymore. The natural stinky gas smells after they use the trays will disappear after a short time if the offending toilet droppings are removed from the house and binned, a bit like when we go to the toilet, it disappears shortly, that's life..!!! But the overpowering, chemicals in their litter may smell nice at first, but day after day, night after night, I think I will move out...... :). If the company doesn't listen, it's only a matter of time and they will start losing money, sometimes people are slow to learn, but not me...!!............
Is purina cumping clay litter safe to use for my kitten? The one i used before your product was of another brand and it said it was digestable and safe so i wasn't worried and my kitten was already used to it. I switched to Purina clumping clay litter today and i think my kitten ate a little bit of it after i put it in the litter box, (maybe she was just checking what it is, i guess) but now i'm worried. Will it effect her in any way?
Hi Minnie, we conduct extensive testing on our litter products including dust and a safety review by a veterinary toxicologist of all materials used in the manufacturing process. TIDY CATS litter is safe for cats. As for kittens, they do have more of a tendency to play or sleep in their litter trays and often the paper style litter is advised during early kitten stages, as they can be messy. It is always best to take note of any animals behaviour after ingesting a non-food item. Please consult with your veterinary if you see any signs of illness and advise them of that you think they may have ingested. If you have any further questions or concerns please contact our PetCare Team on 1800-738-238.
Hi there - I have a new baby - he came home with me last Sat (fourth day now) - they said at the shop he was litter trained but I am finding that he pops away from the litter tray - have tried moving the tray(s), ensuring its 100% clean all the time, after feed and play time, putting him in the tray, but alas he takes off and then manages to poop out of site. He is 3 months old, been desexed and came as a 'wild one' so he's very skittish - I am reluctant to try another litter, because of the cost, but was wondering whether there are any reviews about new kittens and how they go with Tidy Cats? Many thanks Wendy
Congratulations Wendy on your new addition to the family. It can be a challenge for a kitten to get used to a new house, full of new smells and textures. Always make sure that you clean the location of the accident with an enzymatic cleaner, as he may go back to the location due to smell. If it is the same location time after time place the tray in this location until he is used to his new home & litter tray. If he is finding a place to hide to do what he needs to do, a hooded litter tray may be a place of serenity for him. Please don't hesitate to call our Advice Team on 1800-738-238 if you have any further questions. The TIDY CATS Team
Thank TIDY CATS team. Its a challenge that is for sure - after having an old boy for 19 years I forgot what it was like to have a kitten. Going to go and bur your litter on the way home and some enzymatic cleaner. Cheers W
Are the litter clump flushable? Are they biodegradable/safe for the environment?
Unfortunately, as this is a clay clumping litter - it's recommended that you don't flush it.
I have one cat using a large box (he is 5+ kilos) and we are going through 2.5-3 containers a month. I feel like I am doing something wrong. I fill the litter box to the 3-4 inch mark (i whole container) and then remove the clumps. There are a lot of little clumps that I remove 2-3 times a week and then I top up the box every couple of days. Why am I using so much litter and is this normal?
hi Ariane, I dont know if i can help, but i have 2 cats using a long box, one of those under the bed storage ones.. i dont fill it three four inches, otherwise it would use up too much litter, Maybe 2 inches, and not all the way, the cats throw it around in there anyway. I remove the poops straight away, and because im using the clumping one, i scoop up the clumps too, making sure to sift it, so litter falls back into box. then just add a little new one over the top... its lasting really well for me. one container a bit over a month. Hope that was helpful. meow. hahaha
Hi Ariane, thank's for your question. 2.5 - 3 jugs is a lot, but it really depends on the size of your litter tray. For one cat, on average most litter trays use around 3/4 of a jugs after completely changing the litter, and the remaining 1/4 is then available for the rest of the month to do top ups.
Hope this helps!

Dear Purina...you recently sent me a 6.35 kg jug of your Tidy Cats 24/7 Performance Clumping Litter to try. Great product with absolutely no bad litter tray smells whatsoever and the 2 cats love it. I have been mixing a couple scoops with their regular litter and now now nasty odors whatsoever. Love it...what a difference...thank god for purina! I have run out and been to a couple IGA's close to me but neither one stocked it. Can you provide me with a couple stores that do stock it that are close to me. I live in Stanhope Gardens area zip code 2768. Don't mind travelling a bit further as long as I know I will get it for this great product! Regards... Gene Stanyer
Hi Gene, Thanks for this great feedback. The nearest IGA to you that stocks TIDY CATS is Supa IGA Knightsbridge Castle Hill (Cnr Gilbert Rd & Ridgecrop Dr, Shop 10, Castle Hill NSW 2154) or alternatively you can get it from PetStock and get it delivered. Hope this helps.
