VerifiedHow do I get my money back after Mackay Goodwin have taken receivership over Quirky Bubba
How did you pay for your goods? Depending on which method, you may be eligible for a refund through your bank. Contact them and start a refund request
How do you contact them?
Where can I buy the mattress for the quirky Bubba sleigh cot
Does anyone have the assembly instructions for the Strathmore Cot
Did you find these?
Can anyone advise who the liquidators for this company are please?
Mackay Goodwin liquidators
Do a creditcard chargeback if you used a creditcard Better than trying to get money via receivers "Goods not received" If your bank denies the chargeback - submit a complaint to AFCA, it needs to be like an insurance claim (wording is important)

Hi. Is my order ready?
The company has gone into liquidation. No orders for anyone unfortunately!
Does anyone know the liquidators that have taken the goods? Or how you can go about getting some sort of money back?
If you have paid via card you can claim a charge back through your bank.
I’ve submitted a charge back request through my bank, however there’s no official evidence of liquidation, which I’m sure they will require. Hopefully it will be listed on ASIC soon, so that can be used as evidence. At the moment it’s all through peoples comments on websites like this, so I’m not sure how strong that would be in making the request? Fingers crossed something more official comes to light soon.
I was planning on contacting my bank too. I have no idea how to do a charge back. How did you pay for yours? I did mine all through bank transfer. Hopefully evidence pops up soon
I paid for mine on Visa debit card. From what I’ve read, this payment type is eligible for chargeback requests. I have a feeling bank transfer is different though, and may not be eligible for chargeback. Best to contact your bank to find that out though!
The liquidator appointed is apparently Lloyd’s Auctions. I’m a member of a pregnancy FB account and someone has said they’ve called them to confirm. I’ve ordered a nursery set for my daughter :( have received the cot and change mat and top but still waiting on drawers/change table and the cot mattress. I’m so disappointed as the cot is absolutely beautiful
Yeah I found out after posting this. So disappointing
Make sure you search ‘Quirky Bubba’ on Facebook and filter to posts. People have been posting on there too.
If anyone has received an incorrect order, please let me know or if you know the courier company used to deliver goods. I’m desperate and trying to locate my order
Hi all, we purchased a cot from Quirky Bubba last month. Tried to get in contact with them for an update but noticed that their facebook, instagram and website are all offline. Phone didn’t ring either. Does anyone know what’s going on?
I’m in the same boat. I physically drove there today and liquidators were clearing out their warehouse. I was told I could not take my paid for goods despite seeing them with my paid delivery docket and name on the box. I got told to deal with the liquidators and get a lawyer. We won’t be receiving the items so I’m stuck with nothing two days before bubs arrival!
Oh dear!! Thank you so much for letting me know! What a pain… Hopefully you will have some luck with the liquidators… in the meantime, best of luck with your delivery!
This is awful! My furniture was supposed to arrive mid-May. I've spent almost $2000 with Quirky Bubba... Any idea of where I can seek help? Beyond disappointing!
I’m in the same boat, have spent $1500 and have realised this afternoon that fb, IG and website are gone???
Same here! I was getting worried about all of the social media and website being down. How can they not let us know and leave us in the dark? Surely not! Now I'm stressed as family paid for it and worried they won't get their money back.
My understanding is if you have paid via card you can claim a charge back from your bank! If you search consumer affairs it has a little bit of info there.
This is so frustrating. My order was delivered over a week ago however, it turned out to be someone else’s. I’ve emailed and went down to the warehouse multiple times. I knew something was up last Tuesday when I saw a man leave the warehouse dressed in a suit with a folder.. All I want is my correct order and I have no way of tracking down who has mine or what courier company was used to deliver the furniture
Does anyone know who the liquidators are?
I’ve put in a charge back request through my bank. Waiting for some form of evidence from ASIC that they’ve officially gone under to strengthen the case. I really hope I can get my money back - I’m devastated ☹️
Do you need evidence to process charge back through the bank?
Hi all, I have information in the liquidators (from another helpful Mama on a FB mums page). Mackay Goodwin (based in Brisbane) they have asked for customers to forward their invoice to them as it will assist their office. There is no update on the case yet and it may take a long time for them to be able to do anything regarding all orders. They are still in the process of removal all stock.
Hoping this will help someone but we paid via paypal and we submitted a claim with them on Sat 28 May and they have just refunded us! So if anyone had the ability to do so would highly recommend!! I suspect banks will do the same
Has anyone been waiting for an extended period of time for on an online order and cancelled the payment through their credit card?
Hey first time mum. Depends how long you have been waiting for. If it is under 4 months I would suggest calling your credit card company say you want a chargeback as your item hasnt arrived (give them details). I should have done this but I waited 5 months and didnt want to have done so for nothing. Package ended up coming after 5 months and I had so many issues with it. When i asked to be reimbursed for incompatible parts she basically said tough luck and sent me a lawyers letter for writing a negative review wanting me to take it down. I am now collating with others for a class action. We need a few more people , if you have been unhappy with the company please email me at angelaadixon@hotmail.com Class action is free and depending on the level of damage you may be able to get compensation. (I had a lady miscarry after the stress of the legal letter she was sent) Amanda is a horrible business person. She doesnt learn nor does she ever admit her wrong doings.
Also interested in joining the class action. I have emailed you Angela.
Hi, I'm interested to join the class action Angela. I've emailed you.
So glad to read that I'm not the only one. I've been wanting to reach consumer affairs, but got no chance till now.
Has anyone contacted consumer affairs?
Yes. I have and waiting for a response. A few people have contacted me stated they have also contacted consumer affairs.
I’ve also contacted consumer affairs awaiting a response and so has Sarah that has put her review on the yellow pages We need to start a class action, their product is very bad
Thanks for answering. It is quite encouraging to see that I am not the only one.
Hi guys, how can we get in contact?
Look at the posts and find Angel....she needs 12 people and it won't cost us anything...but we should get compensation. I am definitely in!!
Hey Angel, I ended up getting a full refund but in regards to the quality of their products i had the cot drop rail fall apart the first time i used the cot. The drop rail comes already assembled as one piece. The product is not up to Australian standards
Has anyone had any success with consumer affairs?
Still waiting on answer from consumer affairs.
Has anyone written a letter of complaint to the company? Template is from Consumer Affairs VIC. Or has anyone had any success in getting a replacement?
Consumer Affairs - I doubt will recover money from an insolvent company Best option is Do a creditcard chargeback if you used a creditcard Better than trying to get money via receivers "Goods not received" "or "not of merchantable quality" there also a term in visa rules - but I don't know the correct wording. Where it is substantially different from what was promised ... ie: doesn't fit together or doesn't match the quality / look advertised. If your bank denies the chargeback - submit a complaint to AFCA, it needs to be like an insurance claim (wording is important)
