Brand new heater, the tilt warning alarm keeps going off without any movement or even touching of the unit. Any suggestions on why or how to fix this? It is in my baby's room and the alarm will go off in the middle of the night for no reason.

Hi Christie

I have no idea why the alarm goes off. I’d suggest you contact the vendor and/ or return the unit as its new.

Cheers

Either the cut out ball is stuck or that circuit switch has failed, only thing I can suggest is remove it from the wall and shake it around turn it upside down and retry it back on the wall. Or buy a better heater like a noriot heater.

Thank you for the review Christie. Please return your panel heater to the place of purchase for either an exchange or a full refund.

you do not seem to be able to answer the question how much does the 1500 watt panel heater cost to run per hour?

Because I don’t know, it just does the job by heating up the room all day all night...

Thanks for the question Wano, there are too many variables to be able to answer this question for you. It will depend on the initial temperature of the room, size of the area to be heated and the costs charged by your electricity company.

Going off Nobo heaters set to 21deg back 8 years ago it was 31c per hour, with the high cost of power today I would say around 45-55c per hour on a 1500w panel.

Has anyone else have an issue with heater not turning off? even when button depressed and lights go off signalling its off but its still running and getting hot like its about to catch fire hot. Heater 6 years old and now dangerous.

Thanks for the question Daddydaycare, this certainly doesn't sound like normal operation of the unit. There is a 7 year warranty on the panel heaters so you can return to the store for a replacement.

Well it seemed to fix itself so kept it, but recently did it again and set off smoke detector i checked receipt and its 7 years old in July DOH talk about perfectly planned obsolescence. More than anything people should be aware of this possible thermostat fault as it may burn your house down. Make sure heater switched off by red switch at side do not rely on thermostat for temp control. it seems to go full heat and more when fault presents and top panel button does not work will not shut off. Bummer I should accept 7 year warranty for expensive heater?... Ive got a 20 year old fan heater that still works perfectly

Hi Daddyburnsthehousedown,

We have sent a private message to discuss the matter further.

Thanks, Rinnai Australia

I am in exactly the same boat as Daddyburnsthehousedown! Wondered why I was so hot the one night about a month ago and got up to discover the heater was on, yet the panel was switched off. Turned it off at the power point and reasoned that I must have been imagining that the heater was off. It was the middle of the night and I had come out of a deep sleep. I happened again last night. The heater was extremely hot. Turned it off at the power point. When I plugged it back in again it heated up immediately without me having touch the control panel. I have also had an insanely high power bill this month. That makes sense now as I have probably been heating the place when I'm not home. Just dug out my manual and receipt. Purchased 24 May 2013. What are my chances of getting a repair or replacement given it started playing up before my warranty expired? Tom
