We are stuck in West Australia unable to travel. Why is RM withholding our money when some people in England got theirs back. It was disappointing enough not going in 2020. Please help

Their EULA (end user legal agreement) states very clearly that the 20% deposit is NOT refundable under any conditions: covid problems, death in the family, even the traveler's death. Cancelling ar reservation is extremely difficult. This behavior is completely asinine. I haven't seen mention of how some people received money back (and I doubt the veracity of that claim) but I'd suggest that we consider a class-action legal suit.

I would be quite happy to give up even 20 per cent. Something back in good faith would be great. We booked and paid BEFORE coved. We were ready and able to travel. Why are we being punished.

How is it that UK citizens are receiving refunds while Australians are not? Maybe we should be sending emails/letters to the Canadian Embassy in Canberra or the Consulate at Circulat Quay? The Canadian Government should be propping up their tourism industry not turning a blind eye to RM’s unethical and, in some cases of life-threatening illness, outright cruel refusal to refund money paid pre the COVID fallout. My Canadian friend and I have just applied for a refund but, looking at this website, it doesn’t seem likely that the outcome will be successful.

Interestingbto hear about UK. Interestingly, a friend mentioned the idea of contacting a Canadian politician re this , just last week. I agree. We should start applying more pressure.

Some time has now passed since your postings here. How do things stand with you all? Have any of you managed to get refunds? Are organisations such as the ACCC not taking notice of the many many Australians that are out of pocket. Any of the news organisations taken this up? I'm in the UK at the moment - they have strict consumer laws over here and people are now getting refunds. Anyone tried chargeback through your card issuer/bank?

Hi Marc, I’ve asked for a refund and will follow up your suggestions if refused. I live in Sydney and my RM travelling companion lives in Vancouver. Maybe if RM is only just starting to refund UK citizens, they’ll start to refund Aussies.

Any news about your refund?? Honestly we are in Canada and have been trying to get a refund as well as our trip was cancelled twice. Wrote to the CEO last year and go no reply. Wondering if we can all start a class action suit, there must be hundreds of people who have been screwed over!!

I don’t know but I went to OFT with my complaint of misleading advertising regarding their gourmet food that is just reheated on the train in Silver Leaf. The OFT guy didn’t process my complaint as I wanted and took Flight Centre to conciliation and got us a $1000 refund. I wanted a different result, I wanted blood for the crap I got dished up
