Sealy Posturepedic Luxury Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi all, has anyone taken their complaints to consumer affairs? I am seriously considering doing so after today's visit which took over a month to get and was told it was a comfort choice issue and that we could pay another $500 to get it fixed also told we should have been sleeping in the middle from day one' why buy a king size bed to sleep on top of your partner in the middle? I would appreciate any advice from anyone that has chosen to go down this path?
No, it is early days for us, and would like to give the company a chance to resolve first. Not confident however...
My parents have and the first Sealy bed they got their money back but the 2nd one they got fixed and just bought an over lay as it ended up to hard. Call to get advice. Let me know as I think I'll end up in the same position
I agree that it should be taken to consumer affairs. Its unbelievable you can't take them back and have to pay more to get them re-specked. When I finally gave up on the heat and got a replacement bed somewhere else quite reputable the sales assistant hinted that he knew Sealy had a bad batch of over hot defective latex in their Luxury collection. Let us know how you go. I tried sleeping on mine again last night because I thought it would act as a nice electric blanket substitute and woke up four hours later in heat shock.
Hi
I was looking at buying a Sealy Bed but after reading review on here I am having second thoughts. What is going on with your beds?
David
Hi, at 1y it had a very annoying high spot in the centre. At 2nd year I contacted Harvey norman who gave me Sealys no. They told me it was "normal" And that if it annoyed me, that I was to sleep in the middle. It was a king bed, and I have a husband, so where was he going to sleep while I got this lump removed! By the way, I tried it when he went away for work for a week. It worked, until we went back to our own sides of the bed. Sealy don't care. They are too big a company. All we can do is put a small dent in their pocket. the beds are badly made. For the price they are, this should not happen. They remind me of the old Kapok mattress my Gma had, once you slept in it, you made a dent that was nearly impossible to extract yourself from!. Steer clear.
Weight and height? Mine is excellent as previously stated. It is rather firm so make sure you like the feel first. It's great for your back because it doesn't concave your body. Takes a while to get used to and wear in but all in all. Excellent
Worst bed I've slept in. I have scoliosis and it was fine in the first months but now it has been 1 year and my back has been getting gradually worse. I've slept better at side of the road motel. We wanted to get the best bed and most expensive so it would better for my back but it has been the worst mistake we've done. I know the bed has a 10 year warranty but is there anything that can be done?
I'm sorry I can't help with your complaint, I suggest you contact the manufacturer. Mine is fine and we like it. It seems to be getting more comfortable as time goes on.
I gave up. Sealy are too big. they do not care. I was told to sleep in the middle of the bed to get the hump out of it! Best of luck.
All we can do is hopefully save some people the anguish we are going thru.
I bought the kids better back single mattress for my 4 year old son however I am concerned about the smell. It smells horrible and I am worried that the mattress could be toxic. I have aired the mattress out for 3 weeks and it still smells. I don't recall my own mattress smelling this way. How long can I expect this smell to last and is it toxic?
Thanks
Lisa
While I can't say for certain (I didn't manufacture the mattress) you can probably sleep soundly knowing that people who do in fact make mattresses for a living, make them from non-toxic materials.
Hi Lisa,
Thank you for contacting our Customer Care team regarding your above query. We look forward to finding a resolution for you.

can you tell me if the sealy sliken luxury king firm is a good bed to bye thank
Hello Mark. Buying a bed is a very individual experience. You need to consider if you are suited to a firm or plush bed and then what kind of support you need inside your bed. Whilst this bed may be great for one person, it might not suit you at all - or vise versa. The best way to choose a bed is to go into store and lay on the beds for at least 10 minutes (in your preferred sleep position) and then you can judge what is suitable for your budget and comfort preference. Absolutely not. I have had one for a few months and they collapse shortly after and they want nothing to do with it. They are rubbish beds, over priced, over inflated non refundable rubbish and I bought the top of the line for $4300 and still rubbish
It seems I have another faulty Sealy product. After 18months a base that has collapsed in opposite corners. Over the phone Sealy have suggested that this would be a knot in the wood of the base.. something that one would assume is a fault. What I want to know is how true to their word are Sealy, do you get the $50 inspection fee back. At this point in time I really can't spare the $50 to start with, but I would hate to have to chase getting it back, when we have spent so much on the bed to start with. Any experience to share?
Hello Mick. When the inspectors come out, if they determine it to be a warranty issue, your $50 will be refunded. This is part of the copy on the warranty card if you have a copy there that you can read over. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
I've paid the $50 some 3 weeks ago and only received a call back from them yesterday so much for customer service however the inspectors are scheduled to view the mattress at the end of this month. Even with the mattress showing waves or lumps I understand that the collapse of the foam needs to exceed 32mm before any warranty is applied. I my case a mattress and base not 12 months old with a retail price of $5995.00 looks to be our bad luck. If they approve a claim then the $50 will be refunded.
Hi Mick... I have had the same problem with my $4300 bed that is sagged and all they want to do is put new foam in it and get me to sign an agreement that they will only fix the bed once. My bed was stuffed after 8 weeks and the reseller wants nothing to do with it. Im now in the process of taking them to court as Ive had enough of lying bloody sales people telling me anything to sell me something. They are not going to get away with it from my side. If they dont refund my money in total Im going to make it my lifes mission to cost them minimum 10x what they have taken from me by going to every forum on line and telling as many people as I can how bad these beds are. I will even stand outside there store on sale day with a banner if I need to. I feel very burnt and so its time to burn back.
