I have a 1991 009 Stihl chainsaw how many adjustment screws are on the carburetor?

Arnie

They do not make parts for this saw. I have given mine away.

There are high and low adjustment screws and a main idle screw. eBay is full of parts for these saws, not that you asked for parts.

Mine is of the same vintage and only has one mixture screw for idle/low speed. I got an IPL for it and found the High speed circuit uses a fixed jet. There are replacement carbs that use two mixture needles (C1S-S1D) and (WT-99). Since the fixed high seems to run fine, I don't intend to buy another carb for it anytime soon.

The 009L is not manufactured anymore. No new parts available. I trashed mine.

Why would you do that? It seems really stupid sense you can any part you need on the internet.

The saw has been discontinued and you can no longer get new parts. I junked mine. Great saw until it needed parts. Still does this so you have to buy new ones.

Jack Croydon

Hi sue loosen the nut on the bar don’t undo it completely on the other side of the bar is a flat head screw turn it until the chain is tight but not to tight sometimes the screw is covered with sawdust and oil and can be hard to get at. Hope this helps.

Sue, I usually tighten my saw as Jack has described, and I tighten the chain to a point where there is a distance of the approximate thickness of a nickel.
