Side guide rails can they become worn on ambient blinds

Stratco
Stratco   DM

Hi Angel, our blinds have a 5-year warranty if anything like that was to happen however the materials used are extremely hardy.

Angel
Angel

Yes they are hardy, and I can't get outdoor solutions back to fix it again they abused me and I don't want them on my property

Angel
Angel

So I had to get these other blokes to fix my blind that came off the track ,and there saying I need a new side rail as my blind isn't fitting across into the slit, and the side rail is OK I beleive they haven't adjusted the side rail correctly ,pushed it to far back ,there saying I need a thicker side rail ,when I went to put the blind down it went to one side and came off the tracks,it bunched up on one side,so they removed pelmet, and the blind on the right side was twisted on the spindle ,so they straightened it out,it should of fitted back in but it's only about 2cm from fitting into the side rail I beleive there adjustment is wrong yes I do have a warranty on my blind, the motor is new,but I won't have outdoor solutions on my property,so can you suggest what I'm to do thanking you

Does Stratco stock drums with tap for water?

Kaye

Hi there. I have a Cooldek ceiling on my patio and just want to know if I can use my BBQ under it? Probably a dumb question but the installer said the rising heat from a BBQ could damage or stain the ceiling.

Stratco
Stratco   DM

Hi Kaye, I'm just waiting on an answer from our research and development team and will let you know soon.

Stratco
Stratco   DM

Good news from the R&D team! No problems having a BBQ under Cooldek roofing providing it’s not a fully enclosed space so smoke and heat can escape

Melsou
Melsou

Smoke and heat will escape but if the Cooldeck panels are white they are not going to be white for long

Is the steel used by Stratco made in Australia?

Stratco
Stratco   DM

Yes, we use Australian Colorbond Steel by Bluescope.

Melsou
Melsou

Funny - I spoke to a Stratco representative before you replied to my question - The Stratco representative made it clear that the steel Stratco uses for Verandahs/patios etc comes from [Content Removed] -Said representative went further to explain that no steel is produced in Australia - Australia basically provide raw material (iro ore) to [Content Removed] - [Content Removed] produces steel from said raw materia - Australia buys the steel and turns it into consumer products - Eg fencing material, patios etc - Yes the Stratco representative said that Stratco steel is colorbond made my BlueScope but this, like I explained, is made in [Content Removed] - I was very disappointed and cannot understand why Stratco products are so expensive given that they use cheap steel made in [Content Removed] - I also don’t understand why information provided by Stratco is not consistent and/or conflicting - You have one party saying that Stratco uses Australian made steel and you have another party, from the same company, saying that Stratco uses steel made in [Content Removed] - I don’t know what to believe anymore - What I do know is that I will think twice before I buy from Stratco - Without prejudice

Stratco
Stratco   DM

could you please send an email to contact@stratco.com.au with some information on which team member gave you this information so that we can provide them with the appropriate training, it seems you have been given incorrect information. You can find Stratco, along with other suppliers of Colorbond steel on the Bluescope's steel select website. Colorbond is our preferred supplier, however there ore rare occasions where we need to use alternative steel. You can always request Colorbond steel when ordering any Stratco products if you want to be 100% certain your products is made from Australian Colorbond Steel. See the Steel Select website at external link

Melsou
Melsou

Please understand that I was given ‘NO CHOICE’ and was clearly told that no steel is made in Australia - I made it clear to the sales representative that I DID NOT want any [Content Removed] products - He was very intimidating and adamant and firmly told me, like I said earlier, that no steel is made in Australia - I have noted in your text message above that you state … ‘Colorbond is your preferred supplier’ - To me, ‘PREFERRED’ doesn’t mean your ‘ONLY’ supplier - So, in my case, Stratco Deer Park, Victoria, opted to sell me, what I am guessing, the alternative cheap version of steel made in [Content Removed] at a ‘PREMIUM PRICE’ - At no point in time did anyone at said Stratco store intervene to correct what the sales representative said to me - I was made to feel stupid thinking that Australia produces steel - Maybe if I was a male and/or walked in with a partner, I would have been sold steel made in Australia - BlueScope’s website might list Stratco as their customer but that doesn’t mean anything - Don’t insult peoples’ intelligence - Stratco is clearly on the list of [Content Removed] suppliers of cheap steel too as you clearly state that on ‘RARE OCCASIONS’ you need to use ‘ALTERNATIVE STEEL’ - By ‘alternative’ what you really mean is Cheap, inferior [Content Removed] rubbish - I would like to see data/sales/inventories to determine for myself what you deem/call ‘RARE OCCASIONS’ - I would also be interested to see how much of Bluescooe Steel made in Australia Stratco actually buys - Am I happy with what appears to be a cover up by you? NO! - I think my advice to other prospective customers is ‘BUYER BEWARE’! - Without prejudice

Stratco
Stratco   DM

Even on the rare occassion we are required to use an alternative steel supplier, it is tested to meet the same standards by our own research and development team. Perhaps we could arrange af factory visit so you can come and see our manufacturing facility and inspect the Colorbond steel for yourself. If you would like to arrange this, please send an email to contact@stratco.com.au and I will have one of our managers provide more information to you. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Melsou
Melsou

With all due respect, please DO NOT insult my intelligence - What does ‘on rare occasions’ constitute/mean to you and Stratco - Does it mean more likely than not? I don’t care whether the cheap alternative steel product you/Stratco uses is tested to meet the same standards by your own research and development team - Given that you are prepared to use the cheaper, alternative, inferior steel, instead of the best, premium quality steel made in Australia, says a lot about your poor sub-standards - Also, the fact that you are testing and conducting your own quality control etc, instead of using an independent, unbiased third party to carry out these test, to check if said alternative steel you/Stratco uses meets Australian high standards, says a lot too - Question to you [Name Removed] - Did you get in touch with Stratco in Deer Park, Victoria? - Did you provide them with the appropriate training on where you/Stratco sources its steel from or did they educate you on the reality of where Stratco steel really comes from? I had a fence installed by a company that clearly uses Australian colorbond steel - How do I know this for sure you may ask - Every panel of steel had a stamp on it to confirm it is colorbond steel made in Australia - I don’t need to visit your factory to check your manufacturing facilities and steel you claim Stratco produces/uses when you yourself said … ‘on rare occasions we are required to use alternative suppliers’ (inferring that you/ Stratco don’t always use Australian made steel) - All one needs to do is check what gets delivered if and when they place an order - Will the steel delivered have the genuine stamp on it verifying that it is the colorbond steel made in Australia - Sounds like Stratco uses multiple suppliers of steel and it’s basically a lucky dip of what you get - Actually not even a lucky dip - If you know the steel industry and have enough bravado to challenge the Stratco sales representative that tries to sell you the cheap, inferior steel, you might get lucky and, on the rare occasion, end up getting the genuine, premium quality steel made in Australia - Once again ‘Buyer Beware’ - There are quite a number of companies that ONLY use genuine Australian made Steel and nothing else - These companies don’t even lower their standards, or ever use or are required to use, on any occasion, the alternative, cheap inferior imported steel - These companies proudly advertise on their website that they ONLY use genuine steel made in Australia - No where on the Stratco website or any Stratco documents/brochures etc does Stratco make this claim - The only claim that Stratco makes is that they test their products to meet the same standards as their research and development team - A statement which really doesn’t mean or say much about the quality of their products/steel as I have explained above - [Name Removed] - A simple ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ question - Does Stratco import and use steel from [Content Removed]? - Consumers have the right to know where Stratco sources all its steel from; even the alternative steel you are required to use on rare occasions - Consumers need to make informed decisions - Don’t forget that we have consumer laws that protect us from deception and/or misleading information - Without prejudice

Totally agree,I'd like to know what they used on my decking as this decking cost me a fortune don't want cheap imported steel from China used

I have been advised that the Stratco cooldeck
Does not meet the bushfire attack levels (BAL) as the foam insulation is not fire proof

Dons
Dons

sorry Stuart.. I did not purchase a cool deck from stratco., but I read before that it is safe for Val rating if you lay the recycled decking closer but I suggest you research too?

Stratco
Stratco   DM

Hi Stuart, we have a solution to conceal the Cooldek core with laser cut flashings that meets a certification up to BAL29. Anything higher than that (BAL 40 or FZ) requires an alternative roofing solution to Cooldek, like our Outback Dek. If you have any further questions please call us on 1300 165 165. Thanks, Annabelle

All the published information for Cooldek refers to patios or verandahs. Can this product be used for the roof to a dwelling and, if so, does this product have any third party test certification? I've seen certification for bushfire compliance but I specifically need to know whether the product is fit for purpose in terms of weatherproofing and condensation over the habitable parts of a dwelling.

Is cooldeck an appropriate roofing for homes. I am sick of leaky tile roof and thinking about replacing with cooldeck.
Will I still need a ceiling as I am planning to get rid of it as well. I would not mind an exposed rafter/beam look from inside.
Please advise
