Why there's no coffee coming out? Thanks
I purchased my Cafe 11 eighteen months ago from Target and it still make a great coffer so no complaints there. However, this past six months it leaks from underneath somewhere and I have to stand the machine in a tray which needs to be empried weekly. I have repositioned the tank a few times so it doesn't seem to be that. Definately underneath somewhere. What can I do? By the way, I descale six monthly.
I have coffee espresso 11, it's my 4 or 5th machine. Really like them. However it leaks water from underneath during and after expressing coffee. Its not from the water reservoir. I think it out of warranty.
bought coffee machine EM3820 in 2019, the warming button keeps coming on while coffee is still extracting and the pressure decreased, please help, tks
I never paid attention to those buttons, if the coffee is still OK and you are paying attention to the other factors then press on. I remember when I wanted to get mine fixed they told me it was not worth it. Broke my heart.
My machine is about 15months old. It works well but is leaking badly. Being mechanically minded I took the covers of and tried it again. I found that water is shooting out of where the water is diverted from the wand to the coffee.... Where can I get a new one?
I have had two of these machines and apart from the micro switches burning both of them developed leaks from the plastic steam /water/coffee switch. I used epoxy glue on the rear of one to fix a pinhole, but don't know if this will be a lasting repair.
Thanks for your reply. I eventually found that I couldn’t repair the machine, took the screws out of it and then it went in the bin. Thanks again.
Hi I have had this machine for a year now and rarely use the steam wand. Now when I attempt to use it makes a tick noise for several minutes before any steam with come out and water seems to be leaking from under the machine. Any help with this?
The tick tick I assume is the pump but the leaking water I have no idea, perhaps the steam wand is blocked with scale or dried milk and it’s pressure released and dumped underneath, perhaps stick a paper clip up the wand and see if it’s clear ? My old bervelle used to block the steam wand tip regularly and this used sort it out
My partner purchased the cafe expresso 11 as a birthday present. After12 months of great coffee and when I turn it on now the pump comes on too and does not stop unless I turn off the power. What's wrong? It has sat on the bench for 2 years now. It's a shame to throw it out as it will probably cost more to fix than buying a new one. Can someone send me the spare part to fix this?
Hi Gregory, It sounds like you will need to take it to one of our service agents. I have attached a list of agents for you external link please try one of them. They should be able to fix your issue. Thanks
My machine won’t pump coffee through anymore. When I turn it off and take the tamp out after the failed attempt, it is really hard to take out and then makes a “pop” sound when I do. It even exploded wet coffee grounds all over my kitchen once.
I’ve tried pressing the coffee in lighter, pressing it in heavier, using more coffee, then less coffee (I went through half a bag in a day). I descaled it twice in one week.
I have only had this machine for 1.5 years so I’m wondering if this is just its normal lifespan?
Hi Julia, There may be an air lock in water line. Follow the product manual attached external link to prime the machine and push the air bubbles from the water line refer to page 15 the Before using your Café Espresso® II steps to flush out the line. Also check for damages on rubber seal. Let me know what happens once following this process. Thanks
We have had our machine for about 6 months and its started this recently. Water comes from the steam wand instead of steam. Its not a small amount of water either and goes on for a long time eventually i give up and turn the machine off. Anything I can do to fix it?

I recently purchased a Sunbeam Cafe Espresso II EM3820. Similar issue to Sarah R, the grounds are staying really wet in the group head and the tray always seems to be containing water. I’ve not been able to make a proper coffee yet. Any help appreciated.
Hi Lis T, Dual Wall Filter Baskets can keep the Coffee Cake wet. Keep Group Handle in Group Head until milk texturing is finished. This will give more time for the water to dissipate. If the espresso also taste to watery it could be that your pour is under extracted, there are a number of possible reasons for this and solutions: 1. Grinds not compacted enough - Tamp more firmly. Please see page 10 of the product manual for more infomation external link 2. Grinds too coarse - Use a finer grind coffee. 3. Uneven tamping or obstruction in the pouring spouts - Ensure coffee is tamped evenly and check there is nothing obstructing the pouring spouts. 4. Type of coffee being used - Try different brands of coffee or a darker roast. Please let me know if any of these suggestions have helped up. Thanks
Thank u! I will give this a try :)
Hi we recently purchased the Sunbeam Cafe Espresso 11 and love it but have noticed that the grounds are staying really wet in the group head and the tray always seems to be containing water. When we first used it the grounds in the group head would dry out enough to be able to bang them out into a knock box. Now they are constantly wet and holding water. Any help would be appreciated as we have only had this machine since 7th April 2021

Hi Cabe R, Can I ask how old is the machine?. Thanks
Hello I sorted it out thanks anyways
Hi Cabe R, No worries. Thanks
The two shot coffee container / filter will no longer allow the water to be forced through. The single shot still works ok but has been used much less. Why would this be?
Hi Put off, The Café Espresso™ II comes with a cleaning wire. Insert the cleaning wire into the hole of the filter basket to dislodge any trapped coffee grinds. Also Empty out the filter and rinse under water to clean. The Machine might be also blocked by scale build up. Follow user manual to descale the machine attached refer to pages 17-18 external link This should fix your issue. Thanks

I am trying to do a full clean/descale, but the screw holding the shower screen is very tight. I am unable to unscrew it and it's starting to shear. Any ideas to remove the screw would be appreciated.
I have only done this on the first unit I had. All I can suggest is do not use the screw driver on an angle.Use a shorter handle screwdriver and make sure it fits tight in the screw head.
Thanks but I've already done both of those things and it's still completely seized.
Hi Chris, If you go to our website attached external link & scroll to the end of the page you will find service agents locator if you click on there this will show any in your state or local area that may be able to assist you. Thanks
Although there is a good stream, coffee is VERY weak, even though I'm using the two cup filter.
You may need to clean the filter. Otherwise, try a different coffee. I haven't had that problem at all. In fact, although I like my coffee strong, I tried a brand recently that was far too strong for me.
You could try changing coffee brand, changing the grind, or changing the tamping pressure and see what happens. If you are getting a good stream I don't think there is much else...
Hi Carol, It sounds like your machine needs to be descaled. Attached is the product manual external link if you go to page 19 & follow the instructions this should fix your issue if it doesn't please let me know. Thanks
This is a brand new machine. (And I am using the same coffee as for my previous machine.) After making the coffee, a lot of water flows into the drip tray and also a lot of steam escapes. It seems that it is not forcing enough through the coffee grinds, but both steam and water escaping.
Hi Carol, I have just sent you a private message if you could kindly respond via that. Thanks
