Is this model nbn compatible?

Maurice G Boyce
Maurice G Boyce

My understanding is that it is NOT compatible with NBN. It will have voice break-up and will cause the NBN modem to keep dropping out. Make sure that any future phone purchase is NBN compliant.

I own a Uniden 1635 phone purchased over 18 months ago.

It to my knowledge kept and stored the time and date without any issue now, however, it will now not do so.

I have read the manual and followed the instruction Including the appropriate posts above in regards to set up time and date.

It now contniues to fail to store the appropriate date and defaults back to 31/12/2013

Any suggestion would be welcome.

My phone rings normally but when I answer it cuts out. Any ideas?

Check your battery it might not be charging. Take the handset out of the charger until the battery goes completely flat. Recharge without taking the handset out of the charger for 24 hrs. Don't buy new battery unless you're sure the battery is the problem.

Does this mean I will not have a phone connection for another 48 hours

Can you block number on this phone?

benno9999
benno9999

I no longer have this phone as I found it unreliable and replaced it with a Panasonic which I am extremely happy with and does allow individual calls as well as private numbers to be blocked. However I have had a quick look at the Uniden 1635 operators manual and could not find any reference to this facility of blocking numbers. If you want to clarify anything regarding its features or operation, the best way is to google search for the Uniden DECT 1635 Manual and it should take you straight there. Just be aware that there are other sites that also offer access to the manual, I prefer the authentic manufacturers site. Almost all operator manuals are available on the manufacturers web site this has now become industry standard.

I have had my Uniden DECT 1635 + 1 for about 6 months and it has been working fine up until a couple of days ago. Now it rings and recieves calls as normal, but you can't hear anything on either end of the line. There is still a ringtone as normal, it's just when it connects the call that we can't hear anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

If it is under warranty take it back immediately

I along with many others have found the phone unreliable, but one thing you can try is to re-register each handset with the base. To find out google the Uniden DECT 1635 manual and select the Uniden site. external link .

Full instructions are there.

How do I access missed calls?

Baxtersin

Hi, Sorry I can't help you. I returned the Uniden and got a Panasonic for the same price. Much better machinery all round. However there are a number of standard codes you can use to redial a missed call. You can find them here external link

Because the machine answers *10# probably won't work. If they just hang up there is no way to retrieve the number that I know of.

Considering buying the 1635+1 to replace old Uniden which sometimes does not ring on incoming calls. Also want Caller ID. Is this model an improvement on the last one?

Hi Dawn, I don't know if the 1635+1 you refer to is the same Uniden DECT 1635 I posted my review about, but if it is...I would not recommend this phone to anyone. As I said in my review, this is now the second Uniden DECT 1635 we have had, and have had the same problems with both of them. This phone also does not have caller ID. Waste of money as far as I am concerned, but as they say, you get what you pay for and at only $45 we should have known better.

Thank you very much. You have saved me wasting my money on this one.

Hi I have just purchased a DECT 1635+1 and hooked up all the phone line ect, but the 2nd handset is not responding to anything, the screen keeps telling me to " put on the base cradle" which it is, and it also keeps saying that it is "out of range" just wondering how this can be when the handsets are next to each other and charging. on the main handset I have a dialtone and it rings as I tested it, but nothing from the other one???? please can you help me resolve this issue?

Maybe the handset isn't registered. You could try resetting and re-registering the handset. Details are on P28 of the manual. Reset 1. Press & hold END and # at the same time until you see the System Reset menu.

2. If you still have the base the handset is registered to, select Deregister HS, then select the handset you want to reset. If you don’t have that base anymore, select Base Unavailable.

3. To confirm, select Yes. The handset displays Handset not registered.

Registering Handsets

If you see a “not registered” message on a handset, you must register it to a base before using it.

1. Place the handset in the base; the display should say Handset Registering.

2. Wait until the display says Registration Complete (about 30 seconds), then pick up the handset and press TALK/FLASH.

3. If you don’t hear a dial tone or the display says Registration Failed, charge the battery completely, then try again
