Hi there Russell, Being in Brisbane i am not sure of any place except Andrews Communications. The shop sells and deals in Vertex gear. That shop deals with standard mods ie. converting the old 40 channel system to the new 80 channel one. I have heard they can be quite expensive. Other mods which are really bending the regs such as 25/45 watt power levels or private channels etc are in the hands of the pc users. These people are around the CB bands UHF& 27MHZ. In Brisbane people openly talk about high power Motorola 100 watt units. Probably some discreet enquiries on the UHF may get results................................Ed.

Kool good to see the reviews on the vertex standard uhf cb radio - can anyone compare it to the icom ic400 professional unit?

Iv owned the ic400 it's a good radio it's a bit tricky putting extra rx channels by the front panel best it u programe them by the programe software on the computer. It just come down to personal taste with these 2 radios they both very good

Howdy - ok thanks / I used to have a gme tx3500s though it had to be sold as sometimes uhf cb can be a good idea to use and at other times it can be not that good as some uhf cb operators are alright though some other operators are just shockers as they come out of nowhere and ruin the recreational uhf cb experience - cheers
