I don't know off the top of my head, but I am fairly confident if you use a search engine like Google or my preference in DuckDuckGo, it may help to answer your question.

Hi all, Our jug has cracked, with a 1cm hole. Everything else ( blades, docking ring, etc) is in perfect working order. Is there any way we can get a replacement where I can swap out the the moving parts from the old one rather than buying a completely new jug? Cheers guys.

I am looking for a juicer so as to juice celery and leafy greens,we have been reading how we need a juicer machine that needs to masticate the vegetables. Does the vitamix work to juice this way?

Vitamix
Vitamix   DM

HI Anne

The Vitamix blender uses the whole ingredient, including the fiber, rather than throwing away the pulp it is finely blended for more nutrients.

My vitamix stopped working, what can i do?

I have been following Vitamix recipes but am struggling to get same results? My husband attempted to blend a sambal last night and he ended up getting out an old cheap blender (Russell Hobbs) to finish the job. I've also struggled with blending pesto. I had to continually stop the machine and spoon the mixture around. again I got frustrated and gave up after 4 attempts. what are we doing wrong? smoothies no drama, but even ice cream has been tricky. I've had the machine for a month and I'm seriously thinking to take it back because I just don't want great smoothies :(

Would this be capable of mincing cubed chicken? If I purchase a secondhand blender ( unwanted gift ) still brand new in the box, I’m guessing I’m getting no warranty with it ?

Sometimes my smoothies tend to get warm if blended a little to long.

What's considered too long and how can I avoid this problem in the future?

Can I make an 8oz smoothie in the 64oz container? Thanks

pebblespro
pebblespro

It's not preferred- when I would make smoothies in my 64oz container I would have to add a bit extra liquid to get everything moving in tbe blades and tamper more. If I had extra smoothie I would just freeze and use cubes in future smoothies. I like having the smaller container.

My vitamix is 20 years old and I have had amazing service. I was given a large bag of coffee beans that I need to grind. Can this be done regular wet container?

pebblespro
pebblespro

It can but, it will scratch your container and possibly stain your container. Coffee grinders are a less expensive alternative PLUS fresh ground coffee is awesome! *You would have to grind a lot to get the blades to work which defeats the purpose of fresh roasted beans. I have a seperate coffee grinder that was under $10 I use for spices too.. I hope this helps! Enjoy your VITAMIX!

Can I mix flour and cold butter for biscuits?

pebblespro
pebblespro

While I've never done it there are a few recipes for biscuits that can be made in the Vitamix. While I do most of my cooking/prep in my vitamix blender I still favor my cuisinart food processor for pizza dough, biscuits, pie crusts and the like. *I might have to try it and see- how it turns out..

Hi, is this blender capable of blending dates without being soaked in water first? Really wanting a blender tough enough for making bliss balls with dates and seeds, etc.

sophie
sophie

Hi Sue! Thank you for your question! However, I must honestly say I have never actually made bliss balls with dates in this blender, however, I have made bliss balls with dried goji berries and almonds etc. and the blender has ground them beautifully even thought the goji berries are very firm, if not a bit sticky! The dates are a bit softer so they could possibly blend even better then goji berries. What I have found, however, in making the goji berry bliss balls, is that the very sticky and dense mixture can get stuck under the blade and can be very difficult to clean out as the spatula doesn't reach it. I would imagine this would be the same with a date mixture. you can disassemble the jug but it is time consuming and I have never done it. Adding boiling water and blending it with detergent works but it takes a few tries to come clean. Just some food for thought and sorry I cannot answer your question 100%!

Vitamix
Vitamix   DM

Hi Sue, Thanks for reaching out to us. Yes, the Vitamix can blend dates without being soaked in water first! If you add the dates in last, the blades are able to blend the lighter ingredients first and then suck down the dates to blend them quickly and thoroughly. If you need any recommendations as to what model would best suit you, please let us know.

Thanks,

Vitamix

I have a vitamix for home use but I need one for starting my own smoothie shop soon. Can you suggest which one is the best? Also do you ship overseas like Yap Micronesia, zip code 96943?

Thank you. My email is [email removed]

sophie

Hello Mari... I am no expert on this subject and can only answer speaking from previous experience.... but I would recommend the Vitamix. Pro Series 500 because it is exceedingly powerful and comes with a couple of different sized jugs. I don't ship as I am only a customer to Vitamix, however, the Vitamix site may answer your question! Hopefully this helps you some!!

Vitamix
Vitamix   DM

Hi Mari, Thanks for getting in touch with us and we're very excited to hear that you are starting a smoothie shop and thinking of using Vitamix as your choice of blender. We have a commercial range which was created for such use and more information about this range can be found on our Commercial page - external link . Unfortunately, Vitamix Australia and New Zealand do not ship overseas. If you have any further questions please feel free to get in touch with our customer service team on 1800 766 437 or service@vitamix.com.au.

Happy blending!

Is it possible to fit a low profile jug on a Vitamix Total Nutrition Centre? I'm very happy with the tall jug but sometimes when I'm making nut butters and other gluggy mixes I'd like to be able to use a spatula to reach everything that's left on the bottom of the jug and it's a big difficult with the taller jug. Thank you, Judy

Hi Judy, I am sorry but I don't know. You would have to call Vitamix direct. Would you mind posting the answer though as I would be interested in purchasing such a jug if it exists. I have a smaller blender but it does not blend as well as the Vitamix. Thanks, Jenny

Judy

Hi Jenny. Thanks for your response. I will contact Vitamix direct and let you know their response. I LOVE my vitamix. I use it every day sometimes twice a day. It cost as much as a small car but it's well worth it! Judy

Vitamix
Vitamix   DM

Hi Judy, Thank you so much for your question. The Low Profile 2L Container is for G-Series blenders, which includes the Professional Series 750 and Professional Series 300. I would recommend the Vitamix 0.9L or 1.4L Containers, which are great for small-medium batches. Have a look here for more information: external link

Let me know how you go.

Thanks,

VM

Is this the latest blender from Vitamix & how does it differ from earlier models & what is the price & warranty?

Thanks

Judy

Vitamix
Vitamix   DM

Hi Jude, Great question! Our latest product is actually the Vitamix S30, which was launched in Australia in August 2015. This machine is a much smaller, personal blender with a 1.2L jug. However it is still high performance and powerful like the rest of the range. It has a RRP between $845-$895, depending on the colour choice.

The Total Nutrition Centre has a RRP of $995, and is part of our C-Series range. This machine creates much larger servings with a 2.0L tall jug. All of our products come with a 7 year full warranty.

All this information and more can be found on our website here: external link

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

VM

Does anyone know if the black specks issue with the vitamix has been resolved? Am I safe to buy one now?

Pete
Pete

We received a replacement wet jug about 3 months ago. Used at least 4 times a week. We have had no problems with it. Our first jug was replaced due to the bearings becoming stiff. Our first jug was used for about 16 months, no black specks. I know one other person with the same system, they have had no issues. As a by note our neighbour has the optimax, very pleased with it.

Marie
Marie

I have never notice the flecks in mine, although even if I had, I wouldn't be concerned as it is just an inert plastic, and is no different to eating or drinking anything else accidentally ingested in the water or food I eat, I'd be more concerned with pesticides , herbicides, heavy metals etc. vitamin have rolled out a new version that doesn't fleck, so you should be safe , especially if you buy direct

Have never heard of this issue until now. Our family owns 2 vitamix machines and we use them everyday we are home. We have had them for approx 3 years now and have never experienced this issue.

Vitamix
Vitamix   DM

Hi Rennie, Thank you for your question, I hope this is helpful for everyone. The black flecks identified come from a seal in the bottom of the Vitamix containers. The material used to make the seal complies with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements for food contact. Based on regulatory approval and third-party testing, our seal material is safe and presents no health risk from repeat exposure.

While we’re confident in the quality, safety and durability of our products, we take seriously customer preferences. Therefore, since August 11, 2015, all full-size household containers coming off our production line contain a new seal that addresses the issue. The new seal is also on the “S” Series models as well.

Please let us know if there is any way we can assist you further.

Happy Blending!

How many Watts does it have? Does it have a glass jar?

roadrunner999

I'm not very technical but it has a 2 horsepower motor and the container is not glass but I prefer that because it's lighter to move. Today made lentil flour in 30 seconds awesome!!!

Heard that Vita-Mix can cook soup as well, does it really cook or just heat up the soup? I mean it's fine if I throw in veges that can be eaten raw, what if throw in some meat, egg or potatoes then I want the soup to be really 'cooked'. Thanks.

Steve
Steve

Basically the stuff only heats up via friction - which seems like a really inefficient way to heat something up. The vitamix is noisy when it's on high-speed mode so I couldn't imagine waiting around for 6-7 minutes of that just to heat up some soup. Instead I would blitz the ingredients, heat it in the microwave for a minute, and blitz it again.

tryingtobehelpful
tryingtobehelpful

I agree with Steve. Using a microwave, or the stove, would be a much better way to go.

Artyartie
Artyartie

The purpose of friction cooking is to heat the vegetables without cooking and damaging the phytonutrients and enzymes. The latter are, I understand, destroyed by the microwave. Cook in a pot by all means, but you won't get a raw soup that way.

pebblespro
pebblespro

The vitamix heats using friction. So, it can heat soups but, not cook the ingredients. I will usually roast my vegetables then blend with my spices to serve hot soup. However, if you are making a lemon curd or cheese sauce the vitamix is "ready to serve".
