Vitamix A2300i Ascent Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: V065302, V065331, V065332 and V065333I have had this problem before and it simply resolved itself. Turn on unit... get the 227 code (Normal) and then a series of dashes (----) turn the dial and NOTHING -- the unit will not start -- no error code, no way to get it going. Have removed and replaced the canister and lid several times -- wiggled it while it is set up - and nothing. Don't have any idea why it stopped working nor why the last time it started working again.
I found some information about the "tightness or looseness" of the drive gears and how you tighten or loosen the "hexnut" -- but cannot find any such adjustable nut... not sure it is my problem anyway, but it is worth a thought

My vitamix 2500 ascent after resetting also is showing E17 and now E18 error. What do I do. It’s a new one
This question is best answered by a person from Vitamix. I've never had an error except when the lid wasn't properly attached. Is your life properly clipped in and is the jug sitting correctly on the base?
Hi Shoba, Salman is correct please reach out to our customer service team via email: support@fackelmann.com.au or ph. 1800709714 and one of our team will be able to assist you. Kind Regards Fackelmann Customer Service
Rechecked again. Doesn’t work.. error 17 or Error 18
Try this: Make sure your electrical power is enough to keep the machine running. I did all the good suggestion below and it didn’t work, finally I connected the blender to a generator power source and it works guys. My wife is truly happy now!
Roland from Haiti
Help! I am getting the E17 error for my Ascent 2300i. But I also get the 227 code when I turn it on. The motor will not run. I bought the unit in Ireland. Can you provide me with the appropriate customer support details?
Thank you
Hi Clare, Thank you for reaching out. Please see the reset steps for your machine. 227 will show on your machine every time you turn it on. This is the machine setting itself to work. 1. Remove the blending jug from the motor base and set it aside. 2. Remove the lid from the blending jug and set it aside. 3. On the right side of the motor base (not on the front, on the actual side of the motor base) towards the back, you will see an “on/off” switch. Make sure this switch is in the “off” position. (The switch will show “I/O”, off is when the switch is pressed in towards the “O”. “I” is on. 4. Unplug the Vitamix from the wall socket and wait five seconds. 5. If you have an Ascent 2300i, or an Ascent 2500i, make sure that the center dial is pointing towards the 12:00 position. It should not be pointing towards any speed or towards a preset. THEN: 1. Secure the lid onto the blending jug. 2. Place the blending jug onto the motor base. 3. Plug the Vitamix into the wall socket. 4. Turn the power on to the Vitamix, using the “on/off” switch on the right side of the motor base, towards the back. At this point, if you have an Ascent 2300i or an Ascent 2500i, you should see a code 227 appear on the screen and then disappear. THIS IS NORMAL. This lets you know that the motor base has properly reset and is ready for the blending process. 5. Place the variable speed dial in the center of the front of the machine on number 1. 6. Press down on the “start / stop” switch directly to the right of the center dial firmly and hold it down for a moment.
Should this not help, please reach out to the Vitamix customer service team on Email: service@vitamix.com and they will be able to advise the correct contact details for Ireland.
Thank You - Fackelmann Customer Service Team.
All this is rubbish, it is not helping at all. The customer service in UK is useless, the girls in the call centre will waste your time with fausse promise to call you back later with the feedback, then they will never call you back, you keep calling over and over again nothing happens, especially the lady called Becky in Bermingham so useless. Sad to waste such big money on useless blender.
The reset procedure above worked for me with the E17 code
Why wont my Vitamix detect my jug but will detect my cup
Hi Rob, Thank you for reaching out to our team. So that we can best assist you can you please send a email to hwenquiries@fackelmann.com.au and our team will be able to assist you further. Thanks Fackelmann Customer Service Team
Can anyone say that they have fixed this issue and if so what was the answer? Seems like there is little point adding the same issue over and over again - is it a USA vs rest of the world problem? I am in the uk.
I have done the reset….
Hi Richard, If you are still experiencing issues with your machine you will need to reach out to the distributor in the UK if you do not know the details please reach out to Vitamix direct, email: service@vitamix.com and they will be able to advise. Thanks Fackelmann Customer Service Team
Hello I have a Vitamix and it will not detect my jug E17 comes up the base will detect the small cup
I bought my vitamix last dec and only used it 8 times and now im getting a E17 error
You've got to put the cover on. Without it you get an error
Hi, Error E17 can also mean your machine needs a reset. Please see the reset steps below. RESETTING AN ASCENT BLENDER 1.

Hi
I got my Vitamix Ascent 2500i from the UK few years ago as a gift. It worked fine and until few months ago, there were cracks on 64oz container and so I bought the replacement container for ascent models from US Amazon. The 1st time I bought is a 64oz container and the auto detect function does not work (I tried it with my 8oz personal cup and it worked just fine). So I retuned it and ordered another 48oz container from US Amazon thinking it was the container problem. The same thing happened and the vitamix didn’t seem able to detect the container. So now I got me thinking whether the containers from US are compatible with my blender at all. Since I now have moved to HK, I could only order the replacement part from overseas. I tried checking online store of Harrods/ Selfridges but they don’t seem to carry the container I want. I wonder where could I get the large container replacement now. thanks.
Hi C Lau, As your machine has the Magnet Detect Function the US model jugs will not work on your machine. As your machine would still be in warranty through the UK distributor I am afraid you will need to reach out to the UK customer service team or the Vitamix US team and they will be able to advise on how you can get a replacement jug. contact details from the UK website are 0800 031 8432 (freephone) or email service@vitamix.com Thank You AUS Customer Service Team
I’m also very fed up with this, so expensive and never really worked. E17, E18, or no errors but it won’t turn on. I’ve followed the reset procedure too many times. I’m in Norway. Not sure what to do anymore, it’s a dust collector. Thought about buying a new jar, but afraid of throwing more money on a faulty blender. Please send help.
Hi Erickva, Thank you for your enquiry but as you are in Norway I am afraid we can't help you. You will need to reach out to Vitamix direct. The email address for Vitamix is service@vitamix.com
Thank You Facklemann Customer Service Team.

Hi I am looking for the solution of E17 E18 I am based at Mumbai , India . I had purchased this beauty from Dubai. If any customer care no.in Mumbai from your company do let me know who can help me out to solve the issue?
Hi Tejal, The E17/E18 error means that the base is having trouble detecting your container. Can you please try these simple reset instructions and see if you can get the timer to appear. The Vitamix Customer Service email in India is info@kaapimachines.com
RESETTING AN ASCENT BLENDER 1. Remove the blending jug from the motor base and set it aside. 2. Remove the lid from the blending jug and set it aside. 3. When I turn on my vitamix is shows e18 before I have done anything, does not detect jug or do anything at all, just stays on e18, its a new vitamix and only used 4-5 times
I think E18 means no lid. Try putting the jug and the lid on before turning on the machine. If it doesn't work call Vitamix. Their customer service is top notch.

I now see others have the same problem 227 then 3 dashes and E17 on turning power off .....all those dollars and one use making oat milk! No one answers the service phone number Not happy Jan !
Hi Al, Thank you for reaching out to us. Our number is 1800 709 714 if you would like to call us to troubleshoot your machine over the phone. The 227 flashes up each time your turn on your Vitamix and this shows that your Vitamix has reset. The 3 dashes means that your machine is not detecting your jug. The jug and its lid have magnets in them. Please ensure the lid is on correctly before placing jug on the machine base otherwise it will not detect, this is a safety feature. Please reach out to us so we can assist you further. Happy Blending
I have made sure that the lid is on correctly a few times and 3 dashed lines are still there. It can't be detected. Please help.

Hope my response below will be of some use, especially if you live in Australia. I had the same problem, at one stage E18 came on, and then it didn't and E17 appeared. When I switched on the power, it had the usual setting with 227 flashed up, then the three dash lines appeared. No matter what I did, the machine would not run. I called the 1800 709714 no and left a message. A nice lady called me back some 2 days later to help assess my Vitamix problem. In my case, it's the magnetic strip that the machine couldn't detect and it is a safety feature for my 2300i machine (it is a black plastic strip that runs vertically next to the handle. An email was then sent to me asking for more details, my usage, date of purchase and way of cleaning the jug etc. After submitting all the requested info, I received a reply within a day indicating that a replacement jug would be sent to me. It was received within a week. My Vitamix works really well over the past 2-3 years and I am happy with the customer service of Fackelmann.
Thanks , my experience was similar in Australia
HI there, I have just bought a Vitamix Ascent 2500i and it doesn't start when I push the start button down, sometimes it takes a long press followed by other presses to get it to finally start.... I see other people on youtube just pushing the start button and the machine starts straight away ... help!
Thank you for reaching out to us. So we can help you troubleshoot this, can you please call us on 1800 709 714 and we can work together to resolve what is happening with your Vitamix.
I am in New Zealand

I'm having some problems with my Vitamix ascent model. My dry container is not getting detected. My main container seems to be working fine.
Hi Sumitha, In Australia we do not have a dry container that is suited to the Ascent Series Blenders. I am afraid that there has not been an ETA for release in Australia as yet. We are pushing to have it as soon as we can but still no time frame. The model for US machines will not work on your Australian machine. Should you have any questions please contact our customer service team on Ph: 1800709714 or email: hwenquiries@fackelmann.com.au Thank You Fackelmann Customer Service Team

Hi, I bought a similar machine a couple of months ago, and have just used it for the 1st time. Ran for 5 minutes and then E31 code came up. Surely there must be a standard reason for each error code by now that does not require a phone call?

The E31 error is an overheat error. When blending, please turn speed from speed 1 up to speed 10 within 3-5 seconds. Once you reach speed 10, this activates the fan to keep the motor cool. We also recommend using the tamper. If you would like to contact us on 1800 709 714 we will be able to assist you further by getting the ingredients and measures of what you were making to see if we can replicate error. We look forward to hearing from you.
Only 2nd time using and have an error code E17. Have left overnight to clear with the same problem, not happy.
