Where do I find the serial number on my q3100 And where can I buy hand parts ,one of the screws fell off and the handle has two parts one got lost , so I’m looking for the round tube bit that goes between the handle and hood
Hi Tony, it's on the back of the cart frame, on a white label with 2 letters and 7 numbers. Once you find that, you'll be able to give us a call on 1300 301 290 and we can organise some replacement parts for you.
Are the wheels supposed to be loose
Hi Gerald, the wheels should not be loose on your barbecue but they also shouldn't be too tight to impact the movability. It would be best if you could send through a video showing the wheels for our team to assess and best troubleshoot here, if you can email this through to social@weberbbq.com.au and the team will review. Thanks
Having had Weber Q (2200, family Q and baby Q and charcoal kettle) for the last 20 years I decided to buy a new 3100N only to discover it has no thermometer on the lid, I simply cannot believe for a hooded bbq there is no way to see the internal temp, I am beyond disappointed with this and do not recommend anyone to purchase this bbq. What do you recommend Weber Aus and if you make me pay for a new lid I will be beyond furious. Any other suggestions out there because right now I just want to chuck it out, not good Weber…..
Hi Howard, there are two model options in the Weber Q range where one comes with a lid temperature gauge and one does not. The Weber Q3100N does not have this option where the Weber Q3200N does. The barbecue that you bought will still create create fantastic meals that don't require a temperature gauge, as all our recipes are written by setting rather than temperature.
If you would like to know the ambient temperature of the barbecue you can look at options such as the Weber iGrill or Connect using an ambient probe in the designated area on the inside of the lid, which will then indicate the internal temperature of the barbecue. We hope this helps.
Howard, sorry to say but this stuff up is entirely on you. I made sure that I researched all differences between models so I knew exactly what I was after before spending the money. You have to take accountability and can’t be taking it out on Weber.
Thanks Rob, appreciate your constructive comments, unfortunately it may be that you probably haven’t had a Weber Q for as long as I have and my comments were about dissatisfaction for not having a thermometer, and yes as you say in your perfect Aussie way the stuff up is on me, but family Q needs a thermometer, don’t worry though in a perfectly South African way I’ve fixed the problem. Merry Xmas!
The wheels fall out the bottom for some reason. Am I missing something??
Hi. Is there a reason why the wheels just fall out the bottom?? Of the Q3100?? Am I missing something??
Hi Ed, we're sorry to hear you are having an issue with the wheels on your Family Q? When you put the wheels on the cart were all the pieces there for it and nothing was broken?
I have an issue with the Cookbox/cradle assembly, the screws have all become loose and there is no way to tighten them and secure them. Thoughts
Hi Nici Thank you for getting in touch. We can definitely help you out here. The Family Q has been designed to be slightly loose to allow for thermal expansion, so when the barbecue gets hot the spaces don't shatter. In saying this, it depends on how loose your barbecue has become.
Please send through some videos and photos of your Family Q via DM on Facebook and we can investigate further.
We look forward to hearing from you
Can a Weber Series 3200 temperature gauge be fitted on a Weber Series 3100 lid ?
Hi Carl, We do not recommend retrofitting a thermometer on your lid as this could potentially crack your lid and also not accurately read the temperature due to incorrect placement. There are two options here, you can purchase a new lid that has the thermometer already built in as a spare part or you can purchase a food thermometer to achieve an accurate reading of temperature. See the range here: external link . If you have any other questions please let us know. Thanks
Thanks for replying. Would you have the Q3200 complete lid part number available ?
Hi Carl
The lid part number for this barbecue for a titanium colour lid is 66564
Thanks for your reply.,
Can the griddle plate be used on either the left OR the right side? The operating manual seems to indicate that it should only be used on the left.
Hi Iain Thank you for your question. The half hotplate can be used on either the left or right side. If you are having troubles with it fitting properly please give us a call on 1300 301 290 and our customer service team will be able to assist you.
Thank you
Is Weber working on a fix for the rear of the BBG to make a heavy trolley safely manoeuvrable even over a short distance? Trying to push and pull my new Weber Family Q has injured several people's feet no matter how careful. This is a poor design fault.
Hi John, thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you letting us know this is something you would like changed. We will pass this onto our Product and Development team. Thank you
Can I get a new roasting black lid to fit the family 3100 q Webber
Hi Lee,
Thank you for reaching out. If you are after a new part for your barbecue please send us a DM on Facebook or call us on 1300 301 290. Thank you
Just purchased a Weber Family Q3100 and went for LP option. We have an outdoor plug on our deck. does this allow me to use it or is it only usable with a gas bottle. should I have bought the NG option if I want to use it using our home supplied gas.
Hi Charmaine, Thank you for your question. If you have purchased the LPG Weber family Q3100 then you can only use LPG gas bottles. If you wish to convert your Family Q to a Natural Gas barbecue you can purchase a conversion kit from us but you will need a technician to make the exchange. Please call us on 1300 301 290 to make the arrangements
Thank you. Purchased an LPG gas bottle. So all is good.
Just bought a Family Q (3100) with the patio cart. I may eventually want to set up a built in, can I convert this bbq to the built-in version easily?
Hi Patrick, congratulations on your new barbecue! Unfortunately you are not able to convert your Family Q to a built in, this is because the Family Q has only been approved this way and not to be converted. We apologise for this inconvenience
Hi just got the Weber Q 3100, is there a thermometer that can be installed on the lid?
Hi Mam Thank you for your question. We do not recommend retrofitting a thermometer on your lid as this can crack your lid and not accurately read the temperature. There are two options here, you can purchase a new lid that has the thermometer already built in or you can purchase a food thermometer to achieve an accurate reading of temperature. See the range here: external link . If you have any other questions please let us know
I have fitted quite a few thermostats into Weber lids and never cracking one !! An 8 mm drill bit and away you go . Bunnings etc sell thermostats . Soooo easy to do. If you’re in Brisbane I can do it for you .
Is my email address..
Is it possible to convert my Webber Family Q to LPG?
Hi Tristan, yes it is! You require some parts from us though. If you give us a call on 1300301290 with your serial number (on the barbecue, on a white label) handy, and we can give you a quote.
Hi - I'm wanting to buy the Weber Q half hot plate - but I'm not sure if I have to also by a half griddle (as the Weber Q3100 griddle plate is one piece) or if the half hot plate just fits on top of the full griddle?
Hi Kerrie, if you've got one of the older styles of grills that is in one piece, then yes it would be best to upgrade to the new split grills. This is so you can have the other half of your barbecue set up with grills while you're using the hotplate- it sits on little nodules that are formed on the cookbox.
Please note that your grills may require some extra support in the middle as your Q wouldn't have the middle support needed for the modern split Q grills, so best to contact our customer service team on 1300 301 290 to get some grill support clips sent out.
Alternatively, you could look at a large frying pan as an option if you don't wish to change your grills. Hope that helps!
Can you fit a gas safety gauge with a automatic shut off and gas level gauge to new q 3100 barbecue
Waiting for answer
Hi Rodney Thank you for you patience, we apologise for our delay in getting back to you. Just to clarify with you, are you referring to a flame failure device for your caravan? If not, we would recommend talking to your local gas fitter as they will be able to tell the correct information and assist you. If you have any other questions please let us know
Bought the Weber q 3100 but it doesn’t connect to a swap and go gas bottle or any they we have available. It has an external thread and not an internal one. What are my options? Do you offer connections suitable for Australian market?
I also just bought a Q3100 and had the same issue. The Weber itself and the box all say LPG, but the hose fitting is a large black female thread (natural gas I assume). Very inconvenient when I go to use it and can’t. Waste of a lot of food that was prepared that’s for sure.
Hi Daniel and Brad. It sounds like you've both got new Q's that have the new Type 27 gas connection- you need to find a gas bottle that is suitable for Type 27, rather than the standard Type 21 which most bottles have. This is still a LPG connection, just a different type of hose.
You can find Type 27 gas bottles at most camping stores, but check with your local petrol station if they carry this type too.
Looks like my new weber family Q Q3100 has the US style gas hose fitting and not one that fits Australian swap and go BBQ's.? is that right or can i get a different connector ?
If it has the wrong fitting, it possibly has the wrong valve too, it should say somewhere that it's lpg or natural gas? Do you have a pic of the fitting?
its LPG...yeah maybe ..i'm going to take it back . thanks for your help
Hi Nick We apologise for our delay in getting back to you. The connector on gas bottles has recently changed, therefore we have changed the connector on our hose. The barbecue that you recently purchased may connect to the new gas bottles that are being made and not to the old swap and go bottle that you might be using. If this is the case you will just need to purchase a new gas bottle, one that fits your barbecues hose. If you have any further questions please let us know
Just bought a Family Q3100, it will sit on our outdoor kitchen bench. Why are the pre-mounted legs attached to the bbq loose & wobble..? They can’t be tighten..
Hi Sam, we definitely want to get this investigated if the legs on your Family Q cart aren't stable. The Family Q is only approved by the AGA to be used on the provided stand. Are you able to send through some photos of the cart and your barbecue serial number to social@weberbbq.com.au and we will get this looked into. Thanks.
Just bought a Family Q3100, I’ll be using it on top of our outdoor bench. Why are the pre-mounted legs loose & wobbly?
