Question . I have the Co2- Zip tap . hot -and cold tap The screen says i have 2 percent left in the Co2 bottle , but it is so heavy compared to the empty bottle I have in the garage . Its not leaking . Its still giving me sparkling water. Is this common ,. its done it a few times with other bottles too . Having held a empty bottle , i can feel the difference . Can the system just lie and say that there is only 2 percent , but it 60 percent. Thanks
How do you increase the level of carbonation?
This is easy to do and very well documented. It is listed as "Carbonation valve flow adjustment" in the Hydrotap manual. Or you can just Google it.
Steve, the question was how to increase the carbonation level, not the flow rate. I have the same problem - not much gas in the water. It's there any way of increasing the amount of gas in the water?
Hi, we have the zip hydrotap the co2 canister is showing 37% left on the monitor yet no sparkling water, been using it for about 2.5months fairly regularly, i understand it could be out of gas but just going by the systems reading, can anyone shed any light on this issue, tia
Try increasing the carbonation level first, as this may be the problem. If you have a G5 Hydrotap, this is explained on page 14 of the manual. Or Google "Hydrotap Carbonation valve flow adjustment".
all the light alternately lighting up without turning knob
Hi subhash,
Thanks for your question, please check the screen on the unit for any messages. The lights flashing can indicate that the unit needs a filter change or a CO2 change. The lights will flash every 10 seconds for a filter change.
i have problems changing my co2 bottles. Today purged removed the old and putting on the new the gas just escapes from the opposite end of the regulator and wont stop i have changed the bottles a number of times but this is a new issue
Hi Steve. I just had the some problem. Looking for answers on this.
I have a service call this week will advise the outcome
HI Steven,
Just seeing everything went well with your service call and that your issue has been rectified?
Thanks yes it’s apparently a known failure of the regulator in a small percentage of them.
hey Steven, having the same issue with my regulator, did you end up needing to replace it?
Yes, was covered under warranty when zip Tech did home visit
Hi, My sparkling water comes out with a lot of force and splutters all over the place. I have just changed the CO2 canister. Do I need to reset it or purge it again? Thanks Michael.
Hi Michael
There is an adjustable value on the sparkling outlet line, you can turn anticlockwise to increase the flow or clockwise to decrease the flow using an allen key or a flat blade screwdriver.
Refer to "Carbonation Valve Flow Adjustment" in the ZIP user manual, or Google it.
Cold water flow including carbonated is poor and machine is operating very noisily while water flowing and for a short time after cold tap turned off. Hot water flow and temperature is fine. Can anyone help with g to his problem?
We have a new unit installed. The sparking flow rate is very low; almost unusable. I have a similar unit at work and the flow rate of the sparking is the same as the cold but with this unit the sparking is a lot lower than the cold flow.. It is a new unit with a new gas cylinder.
Hi Shane, I've attached a YouTube link below to show you how to increase the CO2 flow and the amount of (bubbles) There are lots of clips showing how to install it, purging the CO2, replacing the filter and how to flush it after installation (8-9litres flush to remove the bad odour from the new filter, etc
Mind you that the more Anti-clockwise you turn that plastic "T" valve, it will increase the flow however it will be emptying your CO2 bottle faster. Best to adjust it to a level that the taste of the sparking water is to your taste However, since it's new you are covered by warranty. If you are still having problems give them a call. I hope my info helped Best regards George

The water flow is not fast, that is the way it is with ZIP taps. If you are expecting it to flow out like a normal tap, then you will be disappointed.
Hi Just wondering why the sparking water just trickles out. Only had a cold and sparkling installed zip tap
Likely your co2 cylinder is empty.
Same problem with a new unit just installed
I have the same problem, but with the cold water instead
Zip tap red light staying on .Does this mean im using extra power with constant water staying hot? How do i get red blinking again to only boil hot water when needed?
You can set it to go to sleep at 60 degrees via the menu. Really though I think the power savings are minimal and the constant heating/cooling would probably affect the longevity of the unit with expansion/contraction of the tank and seals.
I have just had the latest g4 installed. Why does the sparkling water only trickle out?? My previous models flow was the same as hot or cold water?? This is my 4 th unit.
Hi Lisa i am having the sane problems
here too and just installed in the past week - also quite noisy?
Update, apparently flow has to be restricted for the fizzy water. The plumber gave it faster flow but then it loses fizz! So back to a trickle. Mine is noisy as well.
Turn your pressure regulator up. There is also a valve to allow aeration and air into the lines. Needs adjusting.
How go you put the all in one in sleep mode or standby , mine keeps kicking in all the time And my electricity bill is really high - I think it’s because it’s always on and doesn’t cut out . Please help ?
I bought my zip (sparkling, hot, cold unit) 2 weeks out of warranty and the zip technician was called due to water not cold . Told needed a new compressor - 2 weeks out of warranty . Is there an extended warranty bc I paid for this on my credit card and they offer extended 2 year warranty . Zip is saying $2k to replace , unit cost my $6k 3 years ago . Not happy
Hi Kelly M
Thank you for your question, we’ve sent you a private message to get some account information from you to address your concerns and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks Gary , I’ve sent you some messages
I would invoke ACL clauses for a fix.
Hi we just purchased a Zip sparkling, chilled and boiling water. The taste of the sparkling is not as nice as bottled water. Is there anything we can do to alter this or can we purchase some kind of canister from somewhere else to get a different mineral flavour?
how many glasses of sparkling water does one get from a zip gas tank?
We get about 3 months worth and probably have approx 10-12 glasses a day.
Same issue, no adjustment on the amount of bubbles, seems like its a product issue. The water is only about 50% bubbly. Any way to fix other than setting up beer regulator set?
Look up "Carbonation Valve Flow Adjustment" in the ZIP user manual, or Google it.
I purchased a ZIP HydroTap G4 Residential.. My old unit had a regulator on it and I could adjust the amount of gas in my drinks. This new unit has no regulator on it and I cannot adjust the amount of gas in drinks. When I changed the gas bottle, I purged the unit until I could only hear gas and turned off the purge. Initially I get bubbles then nothing. I have done everything right. What is the problem?
Look up Carbonation Valve Flow Adjustment in the manual
I changed the co2 bottle but the bubbles die very quickly. Previously they were there all the time. What should I do?
I’ve recently had the technician change my CO2, (Was last told by the technician that I had to get a Zip Tech to do so for my own safety but then recently another Zip technician told me that I could do it myself, was charged for call out fee & took less than 5 minutes to change - not happy with misleading info). But the CO2 is still not working & not making any bubbles. The taste is of sparkling water without bubbles.... tried purging the machine but still not making the water sparkling. Any help would be great. (I don’t wish to pay for another call out fee if it isn’t necessary.)
the tech may have installed the incorrect CO2 cartridge?
look up Carbonation Valve Flow Adjustment in the user manual, hope this helps
I have G4 with sparkling and its been great. Its been in a month and already we have used up one bottle of gas on the sparkling. I was made aware that we should see anywhere upto 6mths out of one bottle. I measured the flow rate of 400ml over the 15sec which the tap can flow upto at any one use and judging by the manual i am on point with my flow rate of 1.6L. IM a little shocked how one month and its empty. Ive checked all seals and fixings for any loose fixings but all seems to be rock solid. Does anyone have the same issue as me? Other then that is been a great addition to the house.
cheaper to buy a soda stream machine. use the cold tap to fill the bottles and carbonate with the soda stream :) Refil cartridges are only $15 each time
Cheaper to buy a gas regulator and zip adapter. $30 gets you 2.6kg of co2 from the beer place that last 3-6 months. (That’s 30$ for the equivalent of 2 zip cartridge bottles)
