We have a king single mattress that is about a year and a half old in the spare room that was given to us. It is a very firm mattress is there an insert or something I can do to make it softer?

Is there a Koala mattress that would suit a heavier person, who sleeps in a queen bed by themselves, that will have adequate support and will not sag and also has adequate edge support? Thank you
I’m moving interstate and wondering if I can vacuum seal & roll our Queen size mattress for space saving and easy to move?
G'day Julie, We understand the need to save space during a move, but wouldn't recommend vacuum sealing your mattress. It could damage the foam and make it less comfy than it was made to be! What we would suggest, is simply folding the matty in half like a taco, then using some rope or tape to secure it. Don't leave it like this for more than a few hours, but it'll make it easier to move from house to house!

We have had our Koala mattress for almost 3 years and I believe that it is the older original type of mattress. We find that it doesn’t seem to breathe at all and causes us to get very hot at night. Has anyone found a similar issue? We are thinking of replacing it and going back to a spring type of mattress.

Hi Christopher, I have experienced a similar problem. I've had mine for about 4 years and I get hot at night too... I've used mine with 2 different bed bases. One is a conventional ensemble base, which is higher off the ground. The other one is a slat based bed, which is quite a bit lower to the ground, and I think it's hotter with the latter....
Hi, can you use a koala mattress on a boat? Can they be cut to size by the cistomer?
G'day David, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you here! You can absolutely use our mattresses on a boat, but we wouldn't recommend cutting them to size as this could disrupt the integrity of the mattress and will void your warranty.

Can these mattresses be used on wooden slats? We already have a wooden slat base.
You could ask the Koala company as they are great at getting back to you. We had it on an ensemble slat base before the Koala base came and it was fine.
G'day Natalie S, Thanks so much for reaching out with your question! We love that you're checking so that you can prolong the life of your mattress and your bed base. As long as your bed base has adequate support and ventilation, it'll work with our Koala mattress range. If it's a slat base, the slats should be no more than 7.5cm apart to avoid sagging. While posture slats can be used, they can make the mattress feel considerably softer than it actually is, so for the best comfort we recommend that they are straight (flat) slats.

Is the koala mattress suitable for an adjustable bed?
G'day Astrid, Great question, thanks for asking! Although it's possible to use our mattresses on adjustable bases, we don't recommend it. Our matties have been engineered to give you all the comfort and support you need on a flat surface that will allow for adequate airflow, to help it perform at its best!
Bending or folding the mattress for long periods of time could cause damage to the foam core and support layers which, should anything go wrong, wouldn't be covered under warranty.

How firm these mattress
For me, its comfortable. I also would like it to be a bit firmer
G'day Naji Z, While firmness is subjective it's hard to say just how firm it is, we like to think we have a mattress to suit all preferences :) Our Calm As Mattress is the firmest, followed by the Koala Mattress, with our Soul Mate Mattress being the softest.

I'm considering a Koala mattress but having 2 expensive mattresses in the last 6 months I'm hesitant. I don't like firm and thought I liked plush, soft and cosy. I had back surgery, fusion and disc removal, lower back. I have peripheral neuropathy in both legs too. I use an electric blanket just about 24/7, 365 days a year, to help pain. Will this effect the mattress? I use a mattress protector, then the electric blanket, and protection us oldies need (a bluey) then the sheet. I am very excited to hear the mattress is light I too am getting on a bit and have trouble making the bed. Is the base heavy? Thankyou in advance.

When is comes to electric blankets, there shouldn't be any issues using one with our matties but we do recommend checking with the blanket manufacturer to make sure it can be used with a foam mattress - sometimes they're not compatible.

Hi, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get the zip to attach to the other zip to start zipping the whole thing up. Do i need to clip in the markers first? The top zip is on another line when I do this so i can't get it to match up with the other. I have the added difficulty of a bedend to contend with. Is there a specific close up video of this?
G'day Trina, Sorry to hear you're having trouble assembling your matty - it should be easy peasy! In saying that, it's a little difficult to explain here without a video, but we'll try our very best!
If the zipper head is currently sitting on the comfort layer (topper), but underneath the round clip, you'll need to move the zipper head all the way around the mattress so it's sitting in front of the round clip. Then, push the 2 round clips together to connect the comfort layer and the base layer, and the zipper head will be able to attach to the bottom layer zip and then zip up the mattress.

Does koala mattresses come in long single for recliner beds
G'day Hilton P., Great question, thanks for asking! Our mattresses only come in standard sizes, and we don't recommend using them on adjustable bases as it could damage the foam, making your matty less comfy than it should be, and could void your 10-year warranty. Sorry :(

Hi guys. I need a new lighter mattress than the Slumberland Devon which I have & is super heavy. Will delivery guys remove my current mattress?

I am just inquiring about the weight of the Koala mattress compared to standard mattresses. We're getting on a bit now so it is a bit of a struggle stripping and making the bed. Would the Koala be easier?
Dear John, It is so light. I have another brand (in a box) mattress and that is so heavy (50kg). The Koala is so light. Much easier to make the bed for my daughter and still so comfy.
