Be sure your using 2 stroke fuel and have found that the air filter glogs up regularly so it needs a wash and blow dry.

Hi Andrew, I have already done what you have suggested + your suggestion of previous call, changing the spark plug for a new NGK . Still will NOT open to full throttle with out chocking out. ???? First check that both drive shafts are incerted and check that the splines and square drives on the shafts are OK. If the above are OK, check the angle drive in the attachment. To do this, with the attachment removed, spin the spool by hand and check if the shaft is turning. If all of the above is OK, check the clutch. Start the motor without an attachment. Rev up the motor and see whether the drive shaft is spinning. Make sure the shaft is fully home so the spline is engaged in the clutch hub. Following these steps should help you to determine where the problem is.

If it's foam just blow it out

would like to but it has gone missing. Luckily , since posting this I came across a GMC petrol trimmer whose filter fits !
