I ordered 2 Scottsdale prey bars. They are pretty scratched up on the sides but i read some of their bars are like that. My question is why is the weights off. They are supposed to be 5 Troy oz. 155.6 I am reading them on a calibrated scale at 157.2? Can you please clarify this? Something feels off. I paid quite a bit in shipping to get these to me in the USA.

I'm not sure why you would ask me to address your concerns. There are several ways to ensure your bars are genuine, which you can easily Google. Also Scottsdale is an American company, perhaps your concerns could be solved by them.

In answer to Lisa, any reputable bullion producer will always give not less than the stated weight, to do that each piece will be slightly more. It is common to find a minted / pressed piece at say 31.2 grams for a one ounce item. If it is a hand poured item, the extra can be noticeably more. 1.6 grams over, as in this case, for a 5 ounce piece is not uncommon.
