When I logged in to my bupa account, it only shows up Specsavers as its partner in hornsby. However when I checked baileynelson in hornsby it also recognised bupa I'm confused what's the difference. What would be the advantage if I go to Specsavers instead of baileynelson? I like some glasses in at bailey but I'm just not sure if I get charged more by them compared to if I just go to Specsavers

I would call your insurance company.

Good afternoon, The reason that only Specsavers appears on your myBupa account when searching for optical stores nearby is that they're one of our Optical Partners, which is a little different than being a recognised provider like Bailey Nelson. We have a range of specials and deals at our Optical Partners which help to keep out-of-pockets down for Bupa members. For details of what's on offer, I'd recommend checking out our website here: external link

When a provider is recognised with us, this just means that we'll pay a benefit for their services. Optical Partners like Specsavers would also be recognised by us, as would most optical stores based in Australia. Rest assured that you'll still have the same annual limits and can claim the same amount back at either Specsavers or Bailey Nelson, and either of these stores should be able to swipe your Bupa card and provide an estimate for your costs and benefits before you go ahead with your purchase.

I hope this helps clear things up, but if there're any questions around this then you're welcome to shoot them to me in a private message (http://ms.spr.ly/BupaAustraliaPM ) on Facebook with your full name, date of birth and membership number, and I'll meet you there.

Happy to help, Dale

Hi Drew, Provided Vision Direct have given you an item number for the frames you’ve purchased, you should be able to make a claim. If you’d like to be sure, you’re welcome to send us a private message on Facebook (http://ms.spr.ly/BupaAustraliaPM ) with your full name, date of birth and membership number, as well as the item numbers on your invoice.

If you don’t have Facebook, you can get in touch with us by any of the other methods on our website: external link

Here to help, Amelia

Despite being with BUPA and having top range cover, i was quoted $131 gap for a pair of glasses at BUPA optical Hornsby. When I can get no gap glasses elsewhere this seems excessive, I do have plenty of extras on my cover. Very disappointed with Hornsby BUPA optical.

Has nothing to do with the specific store. Then simply go elsewhere

Why are we being charged so much for Spectical frame when they are produced in China by the millions, and you can buy them from eBay Exc quality frames for 40-50$
