I cant seem to get an even finish. I have painted the wall 2 times and get inconsistency in the shine. Should i apply an undercoat and go again?
Hi, can we paint our shower with aquanamel semi gloss? It's a 70s shower so already painted but old. My partner sanded it well and applied it (without primer!!!!!!!!) And it peeled off (I'm not too surprised). If he primes it properly will it be ok to use?
Sanding it was a step in the right direction, but you should have applied a primer I would recommend Dulux max adhesion.
Then i would apply a oil based enamel rather than a water based enamel in my experience its a bit tougher
I painted 3 coats of half the trims without primer and it was such a hassle. This was after a dulux rep said a good sand would mean I didn’t need to. Mine hasn’t peeled off...yet. The other half I used primer & it adhered to it much better. I think Dulux gloss is hopeless.
Hi Bec, thanks for your question. Painting wet areas may not be suitable, it really depends on the conditions. Painting over tiles then using the Dulux Maximum Adhesion with a good coat will give you the adhesion. But to ensure the finish lasts will depend to the water exposure. We want to help you so please call us on 13 25 25 or you can live chat with us at external link . look forward to hearing from you. The Dulux team
Hi, can I use Dulux Aquanamel paint on newly built cement sheet external walls? Thanks
Hi.
Dulux aquaenamel it is a product engineered mostly for doors and trims and can be used interior as well as exterior but it is definitely not the right product to use on cement sheet.
Daniel Villa from novarenovations painting.
As long as sheeting is primed and undercoated well I dont see any issues

I bought a 1L can of Dulux enamel semi gloss tinted to Berkshire White in Nov 2015. I have not opened it since. Will it be suitable to use now in April 2018?
Hi Teresa, Thanks for your question. Your paint should be fine to use depending on how it was stored. Exposure to water and heat may have effected it. Give the can a good shake before opening. You will know if the paint is OK to use when you open it, as it will either smell terribly, or will smell like paint. If it smells like paint, its fine to use.
If you would like anymore help, our Help & Advice team is available on 13 25 25.

Hi,
Can I use Dulux Wash & Wear over the top of a recently painted Dulux Aquanamel picture rail?
Thanks,
Hannah
Certainly just make sure it's dust free. aqua is I take it water based. This is not a traffic area . you only have trouble bonding water based over oil based in wear areas it tends not to bond, hope this helps I would steer clear of Dulux for most jobs choose Taubmans Or British Paints. Picture rails should be at least semi gloss enamel.
Hi Hannah, thanks for your question. Absolutely you can use Dulux Wash&Wear over Aquanamel. We would recommend a light sand and wipe clean before applying. This will ensure the best results. If you have any questions you can call our Help&Advice team on 13 25 25, or you can live chat with us at external link . Best of luck with your project - the Dulux team
thanks for the advice Dulux!
What is the difference between dulux professional and dulux wash and wear ?
No idea just get wash and wear. And a good quality roller cover (i used microfiber)
The wash and wear has higher sheen level and it is much easier to clean. You can clean the professional too, however it will get dirty much quicker and it’s harder to clean marks off. I usually recommend wash and wear to my clients as $30-$50 difference in the paint price won’t really break the bank when you take the man hours that goes into painting. Both products are good if applied in accordance to manufacturers specification.
Good Morning Kev, thanks for your question. Dulux Wash&Wear is our most washable paint, which makes it a great choice for a durable finish. Ideal for everyday wear and tear in the home where marks and stains can be wiped away with a wet cloth. Dulux Professional is also a very high performing product but depending on your project, we would recommend Dulux Wash&Wear. We trust this helps. If you have any further question please call us on 13 25 25. The Dulux team
Thanks
Kev
