Ergon Energy QLD Questions & Answers
Why has electricity rate gone from 24c to 33c a rise of nearly 30 % making having solar power no benefit at all. We have had 5 blackouts in the last 12 months ,the last being last Friday at 6am and no notification that it was out and when it would be restored. How can we allow this company to be subsided by the Queensland government when there is no competition here in North Queensland and paid by the citizens of Queensland. Maybe buy a solar battery and go off grid is the answer.
The real query should be understanding a roughly 30% increase on electrickery, itself, but seeming to find nil connection (lol) between what you've been told and your actual bill. Off grid? Sure. And no, Ergon are not subsidised by the Queens land, they're are... I suppose, I could sell anything, allowing a signature, then admit the rest. Oops, there is no signature. You either swallow it or move into a caravan park, fellow Australian. Understand yet? Peace...
And to add, to your world. Clive Palmer entered a signed contractual agreement with West Australian government to open a new mine. He spent multi millions setting it up, then the sand gropers withdrew. Clive simply advised he will take it to court and recover all expenses, and some.. perfectly legal. So, the WA critters changed legislation to protect themselves. Brilliant, is it not!? And you cuss about such simplistics. Will only continue, as it always has. Dragonflies are looking happy today... ;-)
And to further clarify this constant downfall; I have ample information to terrorise Ergon, but, as the apparent representatives of law do, I'll wait, and amass far more. What is the purpose of adorning a beaut uniform, if only to allow crime to continue, merely for a greater sentence? In their legislation, they're then a party to such crime/s. But, allowed to, and be free of adjoining prosecution, simply because, 'I am the law'. Excuse me, you said what? Every time people like me throw their garbage back at them, the end result is always the same; offers of violence.
Does that not seem somewhat childish!? Again, welcome to your world. I think a peaceful fishing day is upon me...

if a tree on private property might affect powerlines can we get help removing it
My bill has been basically the same for years. This all changed when they changed me over to digital. It practically doubled. They said it was because it had been estimated, but I was always at home & spoke to them each time.
With regard to the problem of the meter readers gaining safe access to properties where there is a dog on site...………..might I suggest that you take on board the very simple and successful practice of sending out a text message to your customers, perhaps a couple of days ahead, to notify them of exactly which day the meter is to be read? 25c text message Vs admin fees/wages/postage/legal costs...…..you do the math!
What is the cost to Ergon customers to have a residential meter read??
Hello there, have an issues with my Ripple Control Relay, in the electricity box it has a seperate unit and it is locked from access to fix the switch. Can anyone help??
The box is locked by your electricity supplier it cannot be opened. Your hot water is turned on and off by a pulse sent down the lines to this box, you have NO control over when it is turned on or off, except by notifying your supplier. Then its up to them.
