I'm not keen on giving my details as the driver and his workmates will be sure to return if know. I'm not prepared to have junkies come and take things they know are valuable to support their habit. I'll not be using your company who employ drug fuelled young boys, limping and unable to walk normally.

Not that I know of. They delivered my furniture only last week& picked up the cartons yesterday. Maybe they r closed because of the lockdown in Sydney or you have the wrong number. Or their office hours are only M-F.

This isnt a review of my move, but a review of there emloyees in Canberra. I was driving through my Suburb Kingston in the ACT on Saturady Morning 21 March at 10:15am when I was about to pass one of there vans parked on the Kerb next to the road. Without Warning just as I was about to pass it moved onto the road. I beeped my horn and the moron driving continued, beeping his horn and kept coming, i swerved onto the wrong side of the road and past him. I beeped my horn again and then the moron from Grace proceeded to catch upto me (obviously speeding) and going through no less than 3 stop signs without stopping (which i did and is how he caught up) in an extended road rage incident. The moron and his passenger were yelling at me out their windows the whole time.

So if you want to move or get stuff transported in the ACT by grace; dont. Because the people who work there are idiots who dont know how to drive, and obviously wouldnt care about your stuff.

How do I escalate a customer service complaint? I am currently in the midst of a relocation from Sydney to the UK, and having an absolutely appalling customer service experience, which has resulted in out of pocket costs for me and considerable delays in delivery. However, I have received excuses and no solutions from my original Grace Representative and the customer service email that I have cc-ed is silent. The only way I can find contacts for senior customer service and branch management for Grace is via LinkedIn as there are no details on the website, and tumbleweeds via the email communications!

liz
liz

Hi Caroline, The experience I had was with the Adelaide team which was wonderful and very obliging at every step, even checking in with me after my arrival in Melbourne. My only suggestion is to ring the customer service centre and ask to be put through to the head of that department. Asking to speak to someone is more personal and harder to be ignored as may be the case with whoever has received the complaint via email. I always spoke to my Rep and only used emails to confirm discussions and understandings. Alternatively if all else fails ask to speak to the General Manager/Director of Operations. I hope this is of some help. Good Luck.

Hi Caroline You could try +61 2 9838 5600 for one Sydney office, or email sydney@grace.com.au You didn't say where you are right now, but if you are still in Australia, you can phone 1300 723 844 Another email contact I found on their website is removals@grace.com.au

I found this to be interesting: "With our extensive branch network across Australia and New Zealand and our extended international partner’s network, we provide a door-to-door service, ensuring your belongings are in safe hands from start to finish."

I read that to mean that Grace is using an INTERNATIONAL PARTNER which could mean they are not actually doing this removal, but relying on the integrity of a third party to protect their good reputation.

I am sure if you approached Grace with the situation you have experienced, they would be hopping mad that anything other than a smooth transaction had occurred.

You could light a fire under somebody if you use the right approach (whatever that may be).

You could mention to them that you could take your case to the NSW Head Office of Fair Trading.

Their number is 61 2 9895 011, but in any case I would give Fair Trading a call to see if there is any other avenue you can take to get satisfaction.

Finally, I feel for you, because once you commit to (and pay) a removalist, you are at their mercy.

This particularly difficult once you go overseas yourself and wait (and wait ... and wait ... ) for your possessions to arrive.

Persist with it ... and all the best

Ivan Ballin

Unfortunately this seems to be their MO - a thin veneer of customer service then they go silent. Have a look at some of their responses on this webpage - they commit to following up and then simply don't.

I am currently grouping these complaints to lodge with the Australian Consumer & Competition Commission as Grace is a national organisation. I am also currently in discussion with two legal firms about pursuing the matter in court. If your interested please email me at [email removed]

Hi!

Is it normal to wait a week to get an onsite quote?

I was wanting to squeeze grace in as a final quote for comparison. I called yesterday and today am offered 12pm next Tuesday as first available.

I'm wanting pack and removal at end of February.

I'm double checking as the girl I spoke with today was not all that interested.

Thanks!

Sue B

Hi Laura. I don't know but that seems slack. I dealt directly with the people in the local office which at the time was Darwin. If you can't get what you want then vote with your feet. Sue

Amit

Hi Laura,

For me it was pretty fast and i did transact twice- once in Melbourne and once in Brisbane- both the times it was well on time.

Veezy
Veezy

Thank you Sue B and Amit. I thought it was slack also. When I tried to alter time I was told no. Then I asked for following day and again didn't get preferred time but hesitantly almost made a booking for a home visit. Then I realised it may not be worth delaying my decision by a week. The girl on phone was so quick to say, "do you want to cancel the booking" in a 'I don't care' tone.

I used grace years ago for a cross country move and forgot about them when I recent,y got quotes for a move to China. I thought I would see if they were interested in a chance to get my business ($10-20k) but clearly not.

Grace Removals
Grace Removals   DM

Laura we would be happy to assist you in getting a quote, but it does depend on the local branches availability. If you could email your contact details including where you are moving to and from to customerservice@grace.com.au, we will follow this up on your behalf.

Kind regards,

Grace Customer Service

Just a heads up Laura- your experience will likely reflect their service all the way along. Go with another company, I've heard Crown are far better and way more professional.

Veezy
Veezy

Sausage roll - well if they think it's okay to be so non chalant when someone may want to give them business, I saw it as an indicator for how I will get treated down the line. One week for a quote from a large company is too long. I don't care really, there are other good companies that were efficient to deal with. I have heard crown are good too.

kat
kat

Be careful with the quote you receive. Even though their proposals are in writing they don't necessarily honour them.

Better double check everything.

Something you don't actually need when moving.

Good luck with your move.

Veezy
Veezy

Kat, really. What do you mean companies don't honour them? Do prices change once you have paid?
