I had a Hikvision 4 channel security system installed by professional installer 20 months ago and paid over $2,000 for it and now the hard drive has gone, I now need to pay another $1000 to have it repaired. very disappointed

I have installed same system and got 3 years warranty. If your installer still there, you can claim warranty.

Just open the unit and unplug the HDD and replace with similar. It's an easy fix. You got ripped off by seller/installer on the whole package.
