Husqvarna 395XP Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi will the 395xp do good on the big ironbark trees??? Would like to know be for I buy it thanks Brett
To tell you the truth I am not sure since I have never used the 395xp on Big Ironbarks. I have used Stihl ms660 and bigger, and the bigger helps - especially with the hard and heavy bark that tends to slow the chain. 395XP have small hard steel nuts on the bar which can be problematic with heavy vibration compared to stihl large soft steel nuts. The issue I mainly had was with the plastic kickback bar which can be cut with hot exhaust bouncing off warped bark like you see on fibre bark Tuarts or platelike lemon scented or spotted gum etc. 395xp now has available replacement metal exhausts and I believe even a metal cored kickback bar through aftermarket suppliers on facebook etc.
If you are cutting large ironbarks regularly I would use something bigger than a current offering from Stihl or Husqvarna - maybe a McCullock 125s or 105s, Stihl 090; and driving a 7/16 chain for rigidity. I have been told that new generation Stihl 090 are available in Europe but have not verified the claims. If you know someone in Serbia maybe ask them as they dont comply with emission laws and hence not obstructed on importing from Germany...
OK great thanks
Is the Brazilian Husqvarna 395 XP as good as the swedish 395 xp?
is a fuel injected 066 stihl a better bet to buy for hot starting problem
Hi bruce never had a starting problem with 395, stihl is a great saw have used both brands for years hard to seperate both quality brands and powerful not sure if fuel injection is a plus, when i cut have it wide open anyway Id take one off each but a husky diehard cheers
There is a known issue with the breather system in the large Huskies - when upgraded dealers report it cures the hot start problem immediately.
