InfaSecure Neon Questions & Answers
VerifiedCan you use the recline feature facing forward?
Yes you can
I bought the Ranger which I think is similar to the Neon. Did the seat come with the red safety clip or a seat protector? I'm finding it hard to install without the seat wiggling around - any tips appreciated!
Mine did come with the red safety clip, contact the company if you didn't. Otherwise, make sure that the strap that clips onto the car will is as tight as it will go to minimise the wiggling. Hope this helps!
Thanks! Big W opened the other Ranger boxes they had and none came with a safety clip or seat protector. I called the company who will be sending both out to me. Think this batch got through quality control somehow..not good.
Yes mine came with a safety clip you just have to tighten the straps as I had this problem at first but with a little more pull power it should tighten it
can the infasecure neon 2 be used as a booster seat for children who are over 4 years old but small ? or is it a 0 - 4 car seat only ?
No. The Neon is not suitable. You should look into the "Rally" car seat for only FF if you want it to become a booster.
The Neon is not designed to do it, and would be very dangerous if used as such.
Is the infasecure ranger suitable for newborn? Do I have to buy additional padding? If so, can you advice what to buy that would suit the ranger?
Yes it is as it can lay back so that baby ain't sitting straight up its an awesome car seat it also has the padding for new borns
Hi. I am looking at buying an InfaSecure car seat. Anyone knows the difference between the Ranger and the Neon II? Thank you in advance
Just the colour and the ranger has the more plush padding.
Is this car seat suitable for a newborn baby or do I need to purchase extra padding and support?
Hi Leah. Yes i would buy extra patting and a head support.
Is this seat suitable for a 4 month old? Our son has outgrown his capsule but don't want to buy two different seats.
Yes. This is an excellent choice for a 4 month old :)
Yes this is a good choice for a 4 month old.
I have a Neon for my 27 month grandson who is still comfortably rear facing. Now that I need a seat for his sister I wonder if there is a similar alternative that will rear face and fit to 8 years. I don't want to have to replace 2 seats that are only used weekly at most.
Infa has a new seat called the infa grandeur. It's a 0-8 seat that has extended rearfacing and extended harnessing. It's the only 0-8 worth buying. The other alternative is the luxi but it has quite low markers so may not last as long and won't get as long rear facing in it or harnessed.

Hi just wondering when I can turn it to forward facing as my little girl hates facing away from me and crys hysterically she ways 7kgs but is only 3 months old she is also 65cm
I believe State law requires them to be at least 6 months old to be forward facing. It is so much safer for them to be rear facing. Maybe try a little mirror that she can look into. Best of luck.
Is she maybe getting too hot? Maybe try taking the padding out and see how she goes? Also make sure her harness straps are at or above her shoulders. She may be crying due to being uncomfortable. Is the angle of the car seat about 45 degrees? Some minor adjusts might make her more comfortable so you can rearward face for longer.
I found my little one ended up with trapped wind at that age due to the positioning. So i stopped frequently and bumped him and this helped a fair bit. hope this helps.
How have you found this seat in summer? My lo is screaming the car down after 10 mins even if I've precooled the car in his capsule. We live in Brisbane and I'm looking to purchase the Neon to have him continue to rear face longer as he is 97th percentile for height and weight at 4 months and about to hit the limit of the capsule.
My dd was always sweating and hot in this seat. she ended up with heat rash on her back. She out grew the height marker at 7 months so we purchased another seat and she can still be rear faced at 14 months. I also found that the position of the buckle was in a awful spot when the shoulder straps were put into it and it would push down on her stomach at a funny angle and had to loosen the straps right off so that she wouldn't get pinched! and she isn't a very chubby girl. I would look at other seats you can get ones where the fabric draws the heat away from bub, they are more expensive but imo are worth it!
Hi Nadine, we haven't had a problem with it this summer. We had him in a smaller seat prior but had to buy a new one due to the arrival of his little brother so have never had it rear facing. Seeing as he is a big baby he will grow out of it quite quickly once it is forward facing. I would suggest you keep in mind that even though it says till 4 years old he may only make it till 2 years like my son.
What is the difference between the neon and kompressor? Thanks
The kompressor has a smaller base, comes in a range of colours and has more padding :)
Will the infasecure neon fit in a dual cab Nissan nivara? We are looking to buy this car seat for my husbands car, but want to be sure that it will go in ok.
Thanks
Yep it has second shortest length in rear facing mode and is only 44cm wide. One of most compact seats on the market. :)
Yes, I would think so. It has a compact design, especially for rear facing.
We could fit one in our dual cab Ford Ranger.
We had the neon rearfacing for my 2year old in my husband's navara. It fit fine with plenty of leg room for myself.
how to install in used car?
install is very very simple. for rear facing, make sure the wedge is flipped out, many are missing this step. turn seat over and you will a wedge (there is a label) pull hard, and i mean hard you will feel like you are going to brake it. the wedge wont lock into place once filed dont worry it is not ment to.
recline seat all the way.
put the child seat on the cars back seat. it needs to be flush, the end of the seat must touch the cars back seat. a pool noodle or rolled up towel can help with that.
there is a label "belt path for rear facing" it is blue, dont worry there is only one hole so cant get that wrong.
thread seat belt thru. using the RED belt locking clip on the SASH part of the belt ONLY. (this helps to have two ppl, but if on your own its still simple)
pull the car seat belt tight. once seat belt is tight, lock off the clip. this will help keep the seat tight, if there is a wobble, undo and tighten again.
clip on tether strap and you are done!
install for forward facing. once your child has reached the max line for rear facing (around age 2-3 years) take out seat. flip the wedge back over, making sure it is locked this time. the seat has 9 reclines. choose where you would like your child. most kids like the most recline spot when FF for the 1st time as it is lay back more. but any spot is fine.
thead seat belt through the belt path- only one so cant get it wrong) tighten, locking off belt with the red clip. clip tether on tighten so it there is no movement of the seat.
and you are done.
very simple. but if in doubt find a good child restraint fitter and get them to take a look.
if you read the manual it does have how to install, read it, adn read again.
good luck!
