Did you find a job in Data Science after completing the program? Apply, how long will it take to get a job @ graduation?

Institute of Data

Hello Marie, Thank you for your questions. The Institute of Data’s programs are designed to equip graduates with practical skills for success in data science. While the job market varies, 93% of our graduates have achieved job success within 180 days of graduating from the program. Here are a few stories of graduates of the Institute of Data’s Data Science & AI program who have successfully found work in the industry:

Emani Flower's Journey into Data Science: external link

Edward Watkin’s Journey into Data Science: external link

Chantanee Manoman’s Journey into Data Science: external link

You can find many more case studies on our website.

That said, an individual’s success timelines can differ based on factors such as participation in the job outcomes program, effort, previous career experience, and market conditions. To support our graduates with this process, the Institute of Data provides a job outcome program to support them through career coaching, interview training, industry networking, and many other resources for a full year after graduation.

I hope this information is of use to you.

Thank you again for asking the questions.

Best,

Tom

Is the Institute of Data actually recognised in Australia? As in will potential employers recognise qualifications obtained by this institute? Does anyone have any real life experience or proof?

I don't think so, i was going to study with them a while back but decided not to, they're not a registered training organisation so it's just a bit of paper.

Hello Anush D and Paul N, Thank you for your feedback and for engaging in this discussion. Like other leading global training organisations, we are not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in Australia. This decision is because we focus on delivering high-quality industry training for the data and digital professions.

The tech industry moves quickly and our customers need to learn the latest skills in order to achieve job roles and career progress. This cannot be achieved as an RTO due to the long timeframes for course development and approval that RTOs must comply with.

We provide modern, practical skills training tailored to the rapidly changing tech industry and job market. It's important to note that many traditional RTO courses can not achieve this level of adaptability. RTO curriculum development and approval processes are restrictive and inhibitive and can take numerous years to work through. These more rigid structures can result in outdated or irrelevant content due to the dynamic nature of the tech industry.

Our courses and curricula have been recognised and endorsed by universities in Australia and globally. For certain universities, the completion of our courses can be cross-credited towards their postgraduate programs. Finally, due to previous unscrupulous RTO providers that have been shut down by ASQA for exploiting federal government funding, we also believe that the RTO sector has been somewhat tarnished.

As such, it is our view that being an RTO would only diminish the product we offer our customers. This is why we decided not to go down that path.

Again, we appreciate your engagement and we hope this addresses your questions. Please reach out if you have any further questions or need additional information.

Best Regards, Andrew Campbell Managing Director Institute of Data

what a load of shit from IOD. I'll stick with RTO where i can seek protection and credited towards University degree. IOD and the likes of other like it (third party), buy a license to use university name to make out that the the course is provided by that university. But in reality, there is no connections. its a cash cow for university to make money.

Hi Dav H, Thank you for sharing your perspective. We understand that education is an investment into your future and the importance of choosing reputable educational institutions. We would like to clarify that the Institute of Data is not an RTO in Australia. Our focus is on providing high-quality, industry-driven professional training for aspiring data and tech professionals. We acknowledge the value of RTOs in providing a certain level of credibility and course credits. However, due to the dynamic and fast-paced nature of the tech industry, we have opted for a more agile approach, which allows us to adapt the course to the latest industry needs constantly. This approach maximises job success for graduates and employers and does not align with the static and out-of-date courses provided by RTOs.

It's important to note that our programs and curricula have received recognition and endorsement from highly ranked universities and engineering faculties in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United States. Many of our university partners cross-credit our courses towards their postgraduate degrees. We've chosen this path to offer modern, practical skills training that stays current with industry demands for the benefit of our professionals who seek job outcomes and employers who want to hire talent with the latest skills

We appreciate your engagement in this discussion and respect diverse opinions. If you have any further questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Best Regards,

Andrew Campbell

Wondering if anyone else has had this.

One of my friends got a random promotional email about these guys and searched up their website out of sheer curiosity. They hadn't given any details to this place but somehow they had his number and gave him a call asking if he was interested?

How did they get his number let alone email? I find this alittle concerning and sketchy.

Hi Snow, Thank you for your question. First, we'd like to assure you that we take data protection very seriously, and adhere to all current and relevant privacy laws both in Australia and around the world. If you'd like to view our Privacy Policy, please feel free to do so here: external link .

We do include a clause in our Policy that states we may collect information from third parties, which is perhaps what has happened in your friend's situation. They may have registered to an event or webinar through Eventbrite, responded to one of our Facebook or Google Ads, or have connected with one of our university or industry partners.

We encourage your friend to please get in touch with us if they have any concerns about their personal information.

Thanks again for your question, and don't hesitate to reach out to us if we can clarify anything further. The Institute of Data

Hi Ash, I completed the course last year October and while I do have an IT background it was mainframe programming (not even remotely close to cyber). Mainframe programming also dates me a little so yes, I was also concerned about finding a secure placement. I didn’t walk into a position but I did find one as did another member of my cohort. There are positions available but ultimately it is up to you. Hope that helps.

Hi Has anyone taken the Cyber Security course and has anyone had success to get a job after completing the training?

Thank you in advance

I found one , but if i could add: the job placement program require you to hunt a job yourself, it does not mean the school have industrial ties with any notable company to arrange you for traineeship directly into a position. the interviewer even asked me if Institute of Data is it affiliated with a certain reputable brand name university. For which the answer is No
