The box label for the Robot Roomba 670 advises that in California it is known that the machine has chemicals that are known to cause cancer and birth defects. is there any more information on this?

Hi David, we have been further advised that as of 2020 this warning statement is no longer applicable for iRobot products, and is in the process of being removed from packaging and user manuals. The box you are seeing this warning on was likely produced before this change was made. Roomba 670 is 2 days old and it has lots of trouble finding the docking station, station is in a clear position approx 3 feet or 900mm clear on both sides, I can put rooba 6 feet or 1800mm away from the station and sometimes it still cannot find it, it just goes in another direction. not sure what is wrong, have had roomba's in the past never had this trouble.

We had the same issue, the Roomba service team had the robot for two months saying they could not replicate the issue and wanted to charge a $180 service fee. When the robot was returned we ran it for a week with the exact same issues.

Today, job “cancelled“ at start same. Ie scheduled start time ... 9am. Job cancelled at 9am ( before it even started). Other times in clean everywhere mode, sometimes operates for around 30 min., other times 65 minutes. Does not clean everywhere even when cleaning for over 1 hour ... misses rooms completely. Very frustrated with the lack of performance !! WHY ?

My brand-new 670 arrived a few days ago in a carton whose badly crumpled side had black marks that looked like a tire tread. The interior (retail) box was crumpled in the same spot. The vacuum looked OK though, so I registered it. It cleaned well today but has an incredibly loud rattle. Is it supposed to? What should I do?

Hi Nancy, so sorry to hear this. Your robot will make noise while operating however a loud rattle doesn't sound right. Can Roomba be used on tight weave carpets ?

Hi Cheryl, this model of Roomba will work on tight weave carpets however it may not be able to engage a high level of suction. For houses with large carpeted areas, I would recommend upgrading to a higher model that has increased suction ability suited to these surfaces. What do I do about plugs. I cant lift them off the ground. I have lamps, phone and other things plugged in around the house and it gets tangled in them?

HI Annette The Roomba's do have an anti tangle feature, however if there are a few cables on the floor together, it is possible it may get caught up. I recommend may be getting a Dual Virtual Wall to stop the Roomba from going into that area.

Does 670 and 690 not work on darker carpets?

good Afternoon Tamara Depending on the brightness of the home verse the darkness of the carpet will determine if the Roomba will work. All models have cliff sensors underneath, these detect a drop in the level from about 2" upwards. Due to this dark to black carpet or flooring can been seen as a drop in the floor.
