Hi Froothie team! After using the juicer for the past 2 years, an issue with the motor appeared, and it's not running anymore. I sent the juicer to the service center and it took them 6 months to have a look at what's wrong. As result, the motor needs to be replaced, but the problem is that they don't have it in stock and have no idea when it might be available. Honestly, I don't want to wait for another 6 months to get the juicer up and running... so maybe you could provide me with the information of what kind of motor is used for Optimum 600 3rd Generation and I can try to find it somewhere? In the manual, it only says that it's "200 Watts". Thanks!
PS: Apart from this issue, Optimum 600 is a great juicer.
Whilst juicing some ginger, my 600 3rd gen's top hat exploded. It cracked open and a chunk of it, the size of a thumb, flew across the kitchen. Can this part be replaced & how do I get it? Clint.
Hey Clinton, so sorry to hear about that. Please be careful to not overload or push things into the chute with too much force. Just open a ticket with our warranty support team here: external link and they will be able to assist you ASAP :)
how much does it cost?
It's currently on sale for $298 :) external link
You can find it at the above link. I hope it helps!
I recently paid $298.00 for mine.
What is mouth size in cms
Hi Heath, If by 'mouth size' you mean the top of the chute where you push the fruit/veg through, it's about 80 cm., so will take a whole small apple, beetroot, etc. It's a generous size, and therefore reduces the time needed to chop everything.
Hi Heath, the Optimum 600 has an 8cm chute size. Anything else I can help you with Heath? My direct email is francois@froothie.com.au, the office phone number is 1300 309 900, any questions please just call or email us (or FB us, IG, Live chat… you can even mail us! We’re here to help :-) )

Have there been any complaints about supply of the Froothie 600?
After ordering this appliance in December 2018, I have been stalled 3 times by the company and still haven’t received the product in late January 2019
I have always had my goods in reasonable time although once I think their admin messed up and tolok a few weeks. I can only guess that stocks might have run out and delays around Christmas. I’m sure you will get it but that seems like a less than reasonable delay. It is still a great juicer.
Keith
Sorry, can't help you there. I ordered mine in April 2018 and it arrived within a couple of days. Ring Froothie and ask for Francois - he'll be able to help. Best of luck.
Thanks for the responses. It helps to re-build lost confidence for good reason. First, after two weeks from order, to be told the selected colour wasn't available. Then, in early January 2019 to be told they were out of stock. Then again, on 27 January to be told of further delays as they were making improvements and to expect delivery by end of February. Justified scepticism I'd say but I will give the company some grace to respond with personal contact prior to taking further action.
Yep, I ordered the "Optimum 600m cold press juicer from froothie, the new compact sleek mod. " no idea as 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen as I cannot see.... I ordered it late dec 2018 and recieved conrirmation txt and a txt stating out of stock and new shipment due late jan 2019, recieved a txt jan28 2019 "1st shipment was sold out in advance, the developement of the new ice cream/sorbet strainer will be added at no extra cost and shipment will be delayed until late febuary " 2019. This all seems very fishy indeed, some sort of sales scam like get 200 orders and they get a bigger discount from optimum? Im still hoping on getting my 1st you beaut, high end juicer (the one the gods use). And now my feb shipment has been delayed til late march... We will see....
Hey Locky! We are currently facing delays with the 600M. Since launch, it has been our best-selling juicer to date and both shipments have sold out before even landing through pre-orders. The 3rd shipment (which you are awaiting) has also had updates to the juicer as per our email :-)
We will continue to keep you updated. Any questions please never hesitate to call the office and ask for me directly, my name is Francois, I am the General Manager :-)
Hello Rogar10, unfortunately no bigger discounts from Optimum. We have been ordering from Optimum for years, selling in over 40 countries and the prices are fixed. Your strategy is good if we sold small volume but we’ve been selling containers weekly for years now with a strong exclusive relationship with Optimum :-)
The issue is the delay, and this will be resolved ASAP. We will continue to keep everyone updated and if you require any information regarding the shipment, please let me know, my email is francois@froothie.com.au :-)
I truely cannot understand that if your "selling containers weekly" then just how on earth can you 1) run out of stock, 2) then with a month delay, 3) then a 2 month delay, 3) then a 3 month delay? Wow, just WOW!!!
I just called and they said shipment expect end of Feb and then customs processing and shipping etc so expect delivery mid march
Why are all the reviews from April 2018?
No idea as far as other people's reviews, but in my case, I only bought my juicer in April 2018...so no mystery there! I'm still totally happy with my Optimum 600 3rd Generation juicer.
Hey Heather! This could be the day the shipment landed and many orders were dispatched and delivered that month as the 600M has been selling out in advance constantly for months :-)
Is the 3rd Gen the same model as 600 M?
Sorry, Zen, I don't think so but don't really know.
Ring Froothie, they'll help you.
Hi Zen, The 600M is a newer model to the 600. The 600M has a Built-In Strainer! as well as a smaller chute to reduce the pulp in your juice. This is because all juicers with a big mouth will generate more pulp, including the older Optimum 600 and Kuvings. It's an inherent shortfall of the technology. We do have the H3000 that has a big mouth as well however it is a horizontal juicer (unlike Kuvings and the older 600 which are vertical) to ensure you get a big mouth without the extra pulp :-)
Anything else I can help you with Zen? My direct email is francois@froothie.com.au, the office phone number is 1300 309 900, any questions please just call or email us (or FB us, IG, Live chat… you can even mail us! We’re here to help :-) )

Hi
I’m interested in purchasing a 3rd Gen but predominately want to use it to juice pure celery juice, would this Juicer be suitable for that?
Kind regards
Mars
Yes absolutely.
Yes, it's fine for celery. Just cut it into about 15 cm lengths.
Absolutely, even kale only. No water required just like on breville centrifugal juicer
Thank you so much everyone. Cannot wait to start juicing!
Hi Mars, the Optimum 600 (3rd Generation) is sold out and is a previous older model to the Optimum 600M. The Optimum 600M Cold Press Juicer, which is our newest Cold Press Juicer, extracts considerably more juice compared to the traditional juicers. It allows you to make fresh-squeezed fruit/vegetable juices, green juices, soy milk and tofu, milkshakes, baby food, and so much more! Nobody likes pulp and residue, so we’ve cut the strainer out of the equation. With our built-in straining design, the auger handles the dirty job – no scrubbing involved! Thanks to the Optimum 600M, clean up just became so much easier! Kindly note the discounted prices will increase once the limited sale is over. external link

I've just bought the 600 3rd generation - it looks great but the instructions give no guidance on which strainers to use. It comes with 3 different types.
Can you give some guidance?
Thanks
Hi James, congratulations on buying this excellent juicer - I'm sure you'll love it!
Use the fine strainer for juicing, the coarse strainer for smoothies, or for when you want more pulp in the juice, and the smooth one for nut milks. Enjoy!
Hello James, better The juicer has a fine mesh screen for harder produce (ULTEM/PEI Material), the coarse screen for soft produce including fruit (Nylon Material). The fine mesh screen has holes that are smaller to allow less pulp into the juice. The coarse screen allows a much greater amount of pulp. (full of fibre to enter the juice)
In most cases the fine mesh screen can be used at all times, unless you are looking for a more pulpy juice, but this is your personal preference.
The no-hole/blank screen, sometimes called a homogenising plate (ULTEM/PEI Material) is used for making nut butters, ice creams and baby food and does not separate any liquids from the pulp.
Hope that helps!
when will new stock be available?
Hello Clarebear3005, better late than never :) At the moment this model is not in stock however you might be interested in one of our new juicer models :) - The Optimum H3000 2nd Generation will be the World’s FIRST juicer to have the vacuum technology, ensuring more nutrients and taste in your juicer, which can also last longer without oxidizing. The juicer will also have pulp control so you can choose the amount of pulp you would like in your juice. Another addition is a heating function! This will allow you to heat the nut milk or baby food you prepared :-) More infos here: external link
And the Optimum 600M, a compact cold press juicer - that yields 10% to 20% more juice than other juicers, more info: external link
Hope that helps! In case you have any additional questions you can email us directly at support@froothie.com.au or call us 1300 309 900 :)
Hi. I recently bought a 600 Optimum cold press juicer and now cannot disassemble it. The top part will not turn to separate from the base, meaning that I can’t clean it. Why would this happen and what can I do? Thank you.
Hi Cristy - that's happened to me twice - a little alarming! I don't really know why it happens - but first I put the machine into reverse, to free up any bits that might be stuck, and then poured a cup of water down and operated it as normal. I find that most vegetables can go in whole or in large pieces, but carrots are a different thing. They're so dense that I chop them into, say, 5 cm chunks. I hope this helps. If not, call Froothie, or comment on their web page, and they'll respond quickly. Best of luck! such a great juicer, isn't it?
Yes I agree with Cristy. I have not had that problem although sometimes it is a little sticky. I always try to take the top off while it is still on the machine and it is easier to manage but maybe you are already doing that. Frothie seem to be pretty good with their backup.
Sorry realised I had Christy instead of KtB and accidentally touched the submit button whe I went to change it.
Hello Cristy, its very simple, the torque of the motor running forwards tightens the topset . To loosen it put it onto reverse for 1-2 seconds, then off, then reverse for another 1-2 seconds. That should loosen it. Kind Regards Stephen BC
Thank you!
Hello Cristy, I hope the above tips were useful but please feel free to contact our technical team using the link external link if you need further assistance. We hope this helps :)
Does it juice sugar cane?
Hi Dan, Sorry, I have not tried sugar cane so I can only guess. I imagine it would be a bit tough for it, would have to be peeled and maybe cut into short pieces as it is so fibrous it could clog. I think it may handle smaller pieces but until someone has tried and can say for sure, I simply don’t really know.
Regards Keith
Hello Dan, better late than never :) You can definitely juice sugar can with the Optimum juicer. Here are some juicing tips: For foods with hard seeds or pips (e.g. mango or stonefruit): remove any hard parts from each ingredient before you juice it. For leafy or fibrous vegetables (e.g. spinach or celery): separate the leaves from the stems, and remove any tough, fibrous outer stems before juicing the inner parts. For frozen fruits and berries: ensure your ingredients are completely thawed – before juicing
You can find more tips on using a slow juicer and avoiding any blockage while reducing pulp here: external link
Tip #1) Do not press/shove food into the juicer
Most of us have juiced with the old-style centrifugal juicing machines. If you recall, those machines require you to forcefully press/shove food into them, and allow large items like whole apples. You are required to push hard on carrots and apples to shove them into the spinning blade where they are shredded into tiny flying pieces.
Do not use this same pushing/pressing/shoving force with the Optimum Juicer or any other slow juicer. There is no spinning blade and no dizzying shredding taking place. No pressing is required. Instead, simply let your food fall into the "chewing auger." Virtually no force is necessary, and forcing more food into the chute can cause too much vegetable mass to clog in the auger, resulting in pulp overflowing into your juice, or the juicer becoming blocked.
When juicing grasses, feed the Optimum Juicer a small amount of grass at a time, cutting the grass into short pieces approximately 3cm long. This ensures the waste can easily come out of the waste chute. You do not need to "clump" the grass into a ball. In fact, you can slowly feed small strands of grass, coriander, parsley, kale, spinach and other leafy greens without any force necessary.
A great tip for large leafy, stringy or fibrous vegetables is to remove the leaf from the stem, cut both leaves and stems into 3-5cm lengths and feed through gently, letting the auger pull the ingredients into the juicer, using the tamper only gently if required.
Tip #2) Juice low-fibre plants first, and high-fibre plants last
Here's a really important tip: If you're going to juice high-fibre plants like celery or spinach, juice them last! Why? Because the fibres in celery tends to accumulate in the ejection port at the bottom of the juicing auger. If this port becomes clogged, then "pulp overflow" will occur, sending extra pulp into your juice. Following Tip #1 though will minimise the chances of this occurring to almost zero.
As long as the ejection port stays open, the pulp in your juice will be minimised. The best way to do this is to juice low-fibre fruits and veggies first: Apples, carrots, etc. and saving the stringier, fibrous plants for last. This will lead to a much better result when your concern is the amount of pulp in the final juice.
NB: If you are planning on juicing large amounts and do not mind a very small amount of pulp in the juice another alternative (to ensure you do not block the juicer), is to alternate your leafy greens and stringy items, with the harder items like carrot and beetroot.
Tip #3) Insert red plug correctly
Make sure the red rubber plug/tongue/stopper on the underside of the juicing bowl, is correctly inserted into its slot. This part is removable to assist with cleaning but often not reinserted correctly. It acts as a pressure point to ensure pulp ejects from the waste chute.
Tip #4) Juice your juice
If you still find too much pulp in your juice, simply pour the juice back through the machine again and you will find that the second time through, nearly all the pulp is removed.
You can also strain it through a nut-milk bag, if you wish, but that takes more time and effort.
Hope that helps!
what is the different between optimum 6 and optimum 6 (3rd Gen) ? Can it make juice that is seeded eg. pomegranate, kiwi, passion fruit, etc?
Hi Jin Yes I found it a little confusing too as nearly all the online demos etc are on models other than the 600 (3rd gen) and I was going to buy a 700 until Froothie convinced me that the 600 (3rd gen) was much improved on previous 600s and perhaps even the 700 including the wide mouth feed which does make a big difference. I do pomegranate, apples, pears (still hard) and citrus with seeds with no problems. I’ve not done kiwi or passion fruit. I’d say search for online demos on 600 (3rd gen). I only found 1. Hope that helps.
Keith G
The new 3rd generation model had improved design & designed to last. Well worth the money.
The Optimum 600 will juice seeded fruit & vegetables. However best to removed the flesh & use the pulp only.
Thank you for all the answers. It's helpful. Yes, Keith, I also found only one demos on youtube for the 600 3rd gen and a lot of the 600. I wonder if the 600 3rd gen can make ice cream, sorbet and baby food?
Hi Jin. Keith & Craig, better late than never :-) Please accept my apologies for the delayed response. It seems this question was missed somehow. I'd be more than happy to point out some of the differences between the 600 and 600 3rd gen, even if atm, both products have been discontinued and replace with the better Compact Cold Press Juicer the Optimum 600M.
The most important difference between the 600 and 600 3rd gen is the Motor Power and RPM. The 600 3rd gen has a 200 W motor vs. the 240W motor of the 600 which results in a lower RPM for the Optimum 600 3rd gen. As we all know, slower is always better for Cold Press Juicers as the lower the RPM, more nutrients are preserved.
Another key difference is that the 600 3rd gen has a slightly increased Chute Size. 8 cm vs 7.5 cm for the 600.
Both juicers are able to properly blend seeded fruits but the 600 3rd gen does not come with an ice cream attachment which the 600 1st gen had.
If you're still looking for a high-quality Cold Press Juicer I can recommend our newest member from the Optimum 600 range, the Optimum 600M which has proved to provide 10% to 20% more juice yield than any of our previous juicers which is amazing considering it's compact and lightweight design.
Check it out here: external link
Hope this helped & Cheers to your health!

Hi, where is the Optimum 600 made? What material is the auger
Hello Robin, The Optimum 600 juicer is designed and tested in Australia and manufactured in China. You can find out more information about the quality control here external link . The auger is made of ULTEM, a higher quality, stronger and more durable material. It is also an eco-friendly material. We hope this helps but please feel free to contact us at support@froothie.com.au for any questions :)
Do I have to wash it everytime I use it? Can I use the self clean function each time I use and clean it once or twice a week? I couldn't find any instructions on how to clean 600 3rd generation but only 700. It looks very complicated to wash it and takes long time. I am thinking is it worth for a glass of juice and spend such long time to clean it.
It's not really me who should be answering this as I only used mine once and found it such a nightmare to clean that I didn't even try the company's suggestions for making cleaning easier (as I couldn't imagine it making the degree of difference needed), but I can say that absolutely definitely you have to wash it immediately after use, and yes, with the caveat that I never tried their suggestions for easier cleaning, my experience was that it most definitely is not worth it for one glass of juice!
Hello Peidi W, thank you for your message. We highly recommend that you clean the juicer after every use to avoid the ingredients drying up and it is also more hygienic to do so. Please find below some cleaning tips:
• Put two glasses of water through the juicer.
• Add a glass of water, while the drain valve is still closed so that the water remains in the juicing bowl.
• Press the reverse button. This ensures the pulp is pushed-out of the juicer.
• Open the drain valve to allow the water to flow out.
• Then simply disassemble the juicer and clean the remaining parts. You can just run them under the tap while using the supplied cleaning brush.
We hope this helps but please feel free to contact us at support@froothie.com.au if you need further assistance :)
Does the pulp come out fairly dry?
Hello Heath, thank you for your message. The level of dryness of the pulp depends on the ingredients that are being juiced. Some ingredients such as oranges and mangoes will have wetter pulp than other ingredients such as beetroots. You can always press the pulp again to squeeze more juice out for a dryer result. We hope this helps but please contact us directly at support@froothie.com.au if you have further questions :)
Hi,just wanted to know whether the the optimum 600 can make nut butter as it has only two strainers??
Hello, thank you for your message. The Optimum 600 3rd Generation comes with a fine strainer (for juices) and a coarse strainer (for smoothies). It does not have another strainer to make sorbets or nut butters. We hope this helps but please feel free to contact us directly at support@froothie.com.au if you have any other questions :)
Why does this video say that it can make the butters and sorbets etc then external link please?
Will this juicer grind sprouted wheat for making sprouted wheat bread?
Hi there, we put pretty much everything through this juicer. I haven't done sprouted wheat before, but if you can get juice from it, this will do it. You would just need a bit of a volume of sprouts Id imagine to get enough juice.
I'm not trying to get juice. I want to turn sprouted wheat grains into dough for bread. I think that the Optimum 600 will do this because I have seen a YouTube video demonstrating this process on a similar juicer of another brand.
Hello Rae, thank you for your message. You can use the juicer to grind grains by using the blank strainer. You can then use the ground grains to make bread dough but not with the juicer. We hope this helps but please contact us directly at support@froothie.com.au if you have any further questions :)
