Water pouring out of the overflow. What does it mean

Either thermostat has failed causing water to boil or pressure relief valve is faulty.

We have been in the house for about 3 years and haven't filled the tank, would this cause the power bills to be excessive? Trying to work out why in winter the unit is running for up to 10 hours a day. We have not noticed any leaks out the overflow pipe and we don't think there are significant leaking taps in the house. The unit is a 280L tank. We have reasonable supply of hot water so it is never cold and we have set the thermostat to about 1/3 between minimum and maximum. The Copperflow 2890 just seems to use 34kW of power a day. Figure it should be only top up heating most of the time and that should be achieved in a couple of hours so why so much power used.

Does the Saxon 525 hot water cylinder have a sacrificial anode? Took the top cover off but there is a whole foam layer on top which seems to be all one piece with the sides.

How to stop overflow from leaking

Re: Saxon Copper flow heaters: Do you need to descale or clean the copper coil at any time? My hot water pressure is terrible and I can only assume the coil inner is calcified or something. The valves and pipes leading to and from the heater are fine, and my cold water pressure is fine. Cheers

My Saxon hot water system has stopped producing hot water. There's no water leaking. I don't know if it's an electrical or plumbing problem.

Is there much copper in a 400 litre

Hi All, I have a Saxon 140 litre HWS that has done me well. Now - it has started to leak slowly (but not always) from the top (through the PRV). It has also commenced trickling SLIGHTLY out of the o'flow - into the yard. Three companies have told me the HWS is shot; has a pin-hole leak in the copper tube (inside the unit). I'm still not convinced. However - the unit was brand new when installed in my newly built home. 35 yrs & 1 week ago Yes - LOL! A PRV replacement would cost $176 (for the item). Is it POSSIBLE that replacing this valve could rectify the situation? If I hear a "YES" - that would save me about $1800 on replacing it with a new one & relocating the piping & wiring to outside my home. Thanks for any HOPE. Cheers - Rob

Does anybody know how to change the sacrificial anode on a Saxon Model 2899 140L single element HS.

The inlet and outlet pipes are attached to the top and there is no access for any anode.

Taking the top cover off is a major operation. Anyone done this?

We have a Copper Flow system, and we seem to run out of hot water all the time. my hubby has tried everything he can think of to try to fix it. we do have a old coil system feeding the water out, could this be the problem, and I was also told that the coil system may not be legal anymore. Any advice would be great.
