Software Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi I’m in my $70’s and have one large sun spot on the side of my face and I’m noticing smaller areas on my forehead. It’s from sun damage in my youth and I can almost scratch it off as it appears to be on the surface. Can you do anything about this?
I have a large age spot/ pigmentation mark on my face, what do you have to correct it. I’m in my 70’s and this is sun damage
I unfortunately had to stop using my prescription as it caused me to develop perioral nasal dermatitis. But it definitely helped skin to clear up a lot. My problem is, I love the night cream that comes in the 3 pack, absolutely adore it & it is amazing for my skin. But Im not a huge fan of the other two products. Has anyone tried both the moisture in the tub and the one bottle that can be bought by itself? Are they the same? Do they have the same effect? I’m very reluctant to try something new as my skin has just started to calm down again after the diagnosis.

I have a 13 yr old daughter who is very sporty and has quite bad skin on her face and is starting to get some pimples on her back. Is this appropriate for 13yr olds??
Hi Nat, Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in Software. Software is designed for people over the age of 14. Since your daughter is under the age of 14 and has specific skincare concerns, we recommend speaking with your GP.

Do the products tend to last exactly 2 months or can they last longer than that? Interested in trying but a bit hesitant because of the price.
Short answer: they can last longer depending on your usage habits. Details: the prescription products have a BBD of 8 weeks but from what I’ve seen, they say the only issue is potency beyond that point. I use mine until it’s all gone, often well beyond 8 weeks (10-12 weeks is probably my cycle). I’ve had no issues doing this. When you start you may use less - I used 1 small pump once or twice a week so it lasted aaaages but now I do 2 pumps every other night, I still get at least 10 weeks. The non prescriptions may last you longer. The ceramide cream, for example, is a big size and lasts me at least 16 weeks with daily usage. The vitamin c I use daily and lasts me 10 weeks or so. Hope that helps!
My prescription cream always lasts more than the 8 weeks but the balm lasts around 16 weeks as it’s a bigger bottle! I always have left over prescription cream as I don’t use it every night!
Would love to know the ages of users .
Are your products made in Australia?

When using software it is mentioned that your skin becomes too sensitive to the sun, and not to use this more than 5 times a week as it would damage your skin barrier. Does this product actually damage your skin barrier and how do you avoid that. How would you determine your skin barrier is damaged.
Hi Shannie, Thank you for reaching out and expressing your interest in Software! A damaged skin barrier typically occurs due to overuse of active ingredients which strip the skin of natural oils. Common causes also include environmental factors such as dry or humid weather, UV exposure, allergens, pollutants, exposure to chemicals and not moisturising.
When used sparingly, our ingredients do not directly damage your skin. However, there are particular ingredients that require more care with use. If they are used in excess, you may develop irritation and skin sensitivity which compromises your barrier. It is important to develop a gentle skincare routine and use SPF to prevent this from occurring.
You can determine if your skin barrier is damaged if you experience overall irritation of your skin. This may include symptoms such a redness, dry texture, inflammation, itching and hyperpigmentation. Also, if your skin stings when applying benign products, it may be indication that your barrier is compromised.
I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please reach out to us at hello@skin.software.
