Can anyone help me find out what’s wrong with my car?
I bought a brand-new KGM Rexton about 7 months ago, but it has been spent 5 of those months in the service centre. Unfortunately, the dealer still hasn’t been able to diagnose or fix the issues.
Here is what’s happening:
- Metal grinding noise when the car is cooled down. The noise lasts about 3–5 minutes, then disappears once the car warms up. The dealer says it is just a “minor engine noise,” but maybe not, as it only happens when driving forward, not in reverse. And it’s quite loud. - After the car warms up, irregular pulsating vibrations start to occur. This happens intermittently, and more often when the A/C switched on.
Any advice or suggestions would be truly appreciated so I can discuss this more effectively with the dealer. Thank you!

Hi all, My rexton 2.7xdi diesel (india) after valvebody flush and ATF replacement is giving strange symptoms, if started from cold engine immediately it had a drive lag and after 2 kms hdc red comes up and reverse is not possible or after lag. After engine off, key out and starting again hdc red goes off and check engine light comes on and the drive is bit heavier. This problem is no there if you give a 5-7 min warmup idling to the engine and drive. Can anybody suggest solutions or same observation.

Hello my 2010 Rexton doesn't go into 4w lo mode, the light blinks on the dash. There seem to be some other electrical abnormalities, is there a way to do a master reset?
I need to replace the headlight bulbs on my Rexton Y400. I have a workshop Manual for the vehicle, but it does not explan how to remove the headlight assemblies. Can anyone help please.

when my car sits in the driveway i notice my rear lights keep flashing doesn't happen all the time.
I have a ssanyong rexton ultimate which recently had it's first service at my local mechanic who told me there was oil on the air filter 12000ks, I took it back to the dealer who said it is a known fault with this model car, apparently coming past the turbo, they said the air filter should be replaced after ever service, any one know about this, is it in fact the case
Laurie, I have 45000 klm on mine most towing a 3 tonne van and I do not have this problem. I would suggest you fire off a question to Ssangyong customer service as this is not something you want on a car which has only done 12000 klms. It seems that the dealer network is what is letting down what appears to be a good car.

55 plate 2.7 run drive about 45 then cut out won't start for about 15 to 20 minutes then it run again for another 30 or so minutes and does the same again
I use Ssangyong Rexton Sport 2018. I would to change the program language from Korea to English but I do not know how to change it. If anyone know please share to me too. Thanks

I am considering buying the Rexton Ultimate 2024 and i would like to know how they handle a 19 to 20 foot caravan.
Personally I wouldn't tow a van over 2700kg with a Rexton. I think the 3500 kg is a big ask for the size of the motor and tranmission. 19/20 is not an issue as long as the weight is around the 2700kg mark. I'm a diesel mechanic by trade and a bit old school, so some might say my opinion is a bit conservative. Tread your own path. Cheers
I have a 2023 Rexton and I tow a 3 tonne off road van with it. While I have only done 45000 klm and most of that with the van attached I cannot fault the performance of the Rexton as a tow vehicle. I previously towed the same van with a 2014 Isuzu D Max (about 200,000 van klms never got out of fourth gear while towing at 100kph) I honestly feel this car does a better job. Yes the motor is smaller but the eight speed transmission has us sitting on 100 kph in eighth gear at less than 2000 rpm. I have fitted air bags and I use a Hayman Reese Weight Distribution Hitch. Averaging 16 to 17 litres per 100 klm with the van on so as good as the D Max on fuel. Go for a drive this is a great car.

SteveWWI live in the UK and have a Buccaneer Bermuda caravan that I have towed all over the UK with my Diesel 2019 Rexton Ultimate Y400. I have done about 20,000 miles towing this van and my previous van, a Buccaneer Commodore. I also towed the previous van with a Volvo XC90, the Y400 knocks the spot of it.
I have a 2007 SsangYong Rexton RX270 Sports Auto 4x4 MY07. There is a periodic issue where the amber 4WD low and red 4WD check lights illuminate on dash and the car won't shift out of low gear. The only solution is to turn ignition on and off again until it chooses to shift into normal gear (with no error lights). It mostly happens when the weather temperature is hot.
Anyone solved the C300 head unit reboot issue? Put ours in to be fixed and the whole system crashed so they replaced the whole head unit, only to find the car now shows on an angle on screen (skewed to the right) for the reversing cameras (makes reversing anywhere very confusing). Also the C300 reboot still intermittent issue. Getting nowhere with Ssangyong on fixing it and have gone silent. Have the Y400 Ultimate 2023
