We are fed up with TruEnergy and want to change, does anyone have any experience of problems in changing to another provider from TruEngergy?

What sort of problems are you experiencing with TruEnergy aka Energy Australia? I have been with TruEnergy for quite some time, since 2002 with the first premises and then since 2008 after moving into another; and as such have not experienced many problems. The only issues I had was with the documentation from a Solar PV system installation and especially billing issues.

Last year when Energy Australia was known as TruEnergy, there was a complete stuff up in their billing where it left many of its customers without a single bill for the entire year; until a wallop was submitted near Christmas. There were some issues there and as such, I had some bad experiences with the customer service department (Indian call centre).

Thanks.

When I decided to switch over to another company. Try energy charges me $63 each on gas and electricity. I was with them for 6 years and they said I was still in contract which is wrong but I paid off all that because u can't deal with their service representatives. They don't help at all

Make sure you ask them about if you are in contract or not and decide when do you want to switch over. But I will suggest not to stay with energy Australia they are really really bad service providers

Thanks Milord and Raj Thakur for the info, we will take it on board. Ultimately they have done some dumb stuff with our bills that goes on and on and on despite many many long and expensive calls to their call centre. We've never signed a contract with them and they have no direct debit on our accounts - we've always done B-pay - so we figure it will be really difficult for them to take money from us they aren't owed.

Truenergy and Energy Australia are the same company and your better off going to a better company.

Thats what I discovered months ago and cpmplained to the Ombudsman Tru Energy bought the retail admin end of business nad then mreged back , then found out that the Chinese Light and Pole Company has a large holding in Energy Aust and Ausgrid does the maintenance. Think there is alot of misrepresentation, price gouging, no transparency.... should be investigated by ACCC. Who is accountable? The public out cry seems to fall on deaf ears.

Why are you getting such bad publicity for your service and approach to customers. I was thinking of changing to Tru Energy but have now got cold feet. Can you persaude me to do so.

if i were you i would stay away from truernergy and their new company energy australia - they were billing me 1800 a yr 40kw per day consumption rates, when no hot water and no kitchen and a lifestyle of eating out mostly. Nothing but headaches trying to resolve a dispute and issues, they are incapable of resolving disputes or issues ammendably to peoples rights.

I am an employee of "Aussie Bill Compare"...And it Saddens me reading some of the stories about the trouble people have had with tru energy...Its interesting cause we have 4 companies we now work with not just tru but also energy aus(they are different companies) , simply energy and believe it or not AGL...I dont like AGL..High rates.....To the people here who have had bad dealings from tru...I apologize...not directly on their behalf but as someone who might hear 1 bad story from 100 tru customers...we cant get tru customers to change, but they are happy with the upgrade we can offer....If thre is anything i can assist with (not asking for complaints) but genuine concerns and need your supply either changed or need a tru upgrade ect.. plz comment on here and i will get in touch

energy australia is owned by truenergy - truenergy had their facebook page covered by people with nothing but complaints. Be careful asking some companies in regards to valuations as also i think truenergy owns some other companies that do reviews and evaluations - usually its an alliance set up program. I have on tape recordings of truenergy declaring my disputes and other tape recordings of truenergy denying i was a customer ever in the entire history of their company. Truenergy wont resolve disputes with you, literally they are incapable of resolving disputes. They will overcharge and apparantly in other peoples cases i have heard about they will actually put a default listing on you without even you owing them anything. As I mentioned before their own facebook page was consumed of complaints, they took their facebook page down - seriously how can i state i have tape recordings of this company and the tape recordings were for legal matters concerning this mob. You would be better going to agl, or origin or red or some other company - truenergy and their new name energy australia have the same extensive campaign against origin and agl

also look above 96 people declare truenegy terrible and 7 only thing they are good (the ones that think they are good are most likely employed by truenergy or they been hired just to write a good review as truenergy has done this on multiple sites)
