Have not received an answer from Ultratune either

they dont care they are taking so long they are waiting for you to get sick of waiting for a reply or just hope you will forget about it.

Hi George, your right of course, so I will just keep getting louder and publicising it all the more whilst I wait. I am considering putting a big sign on the side of my van so the general public will see the latest Federal Court fine of $2.6 million dollars for dishonesty which is rampant in the Ultratune culture.

WHOA!!! DONT USE ULTRATUNE. Had new muffler and tyres done and asked for a full assessment of work that need to be done so I could decide if it was worth doing. I was told not much work, parts easy to get, radiator fine ... 3+ months later, lights replaced un-necessarily, radiator replaced as hole appeared. Everytime I got one job finished they would find more work to be done. Account now in dispute. Federal Court fined them in Jan 2019 $2.6 million. Go to Accc.gov.au search Ultra tune.

I would go RACV.. That way you have a choice

I had a timing belt break on my Holden Vectra, unfortunately doing mayor damage(bent valves and damage to some valve guides). Had Ultratune Port Adelaide fix it and all went well for about 3 weeks when signs of a leaking head gasket appeared(higher running temp, hard to start and pressurizing coolant system prematurely. Rang them, took it in as requested and my diagnoses was confirmed. Without any hesitation they agreed to fix it under warranty with no questions asked! I cannot speak more highly of the way they accepted responsibility and then rectified the problem in a quick time. I had this vechicle for another 50,000km before I sold it with no further problems.

Please I would strongly advise you not to do business with them. They'll rip you off for and probably sell you cheap stuff. I learnt the hard way. I'm sure there's some reputable shops you can try like Bob-Jane

Ultra tune put Nexen tyres on my Navara, driving home the vibrations through the car were that bad The passenger seat looked like it was going to snap its anchor points. Took it back the next morning and was told I had lost a weight. Drove away no better, took it back again and they replaced the first set with a new set. Marginally better but still terrible. Never got enough grip on the rear tyres being a ute with little weight and often got sideways movement in the wet. Got spun 180 degrees doing 50km / hour on a gentle bend in the wet on Monday called into a mechanic to check the car who said straight away get rid of the tyres they had numerous similar experiences with them. Tyres wore in the middle and I replaced them yesterday after approx 30000kms. Tyres weren't overinflated and didn't require new shocky's so hard to explain the wear pattern. Stay safe! Stay away from Nexen!

they will only put up some of the complaint

There are different types of complaint processes that you can try. Obviously, you can complain to the franchise that you dealt with. You can try head office but reports aren't good. You can try a motor traders association type body in your state. I have used those. Ultratune is member of the Australian Automobile Aftermarket Association..... but while this Association might encourage Ultratune to do the right thing, it's a toothless tiger. Try a government Fair Trading or equivalent body. Companies dont like getting shamed by fair trading bodies and are more likely to fix your problem.

Personally, I would do some research on how to make a complaint to fair trading so you can appear knowledgable to the Ultratune dealer and then go down and tell your Ultratune dealer that you want the problem fixed or you will be lodging a formal complaint.

My experience is factual of what happened to me. If you look at the overall picture on Ultra Tune as a whole your question will be answered.

Ultratune is a franchise. There might be good ones out there, just like there are a few good mechanics out there. The people who are happy with their service, generally ask them to service their car, not to fix it. Most handymen can do a car service if they are given the instructions and the equipment. Fixing a car is another issue.

Yes, They said they had to fit new rotors and pads on my car only done 60000 ks of careful driving. They charged me $1200. I have since found out I could have got the job done for half the price. Not been back since.

Its always good to Make sure that your getting the Same Quality for Material fitted to your car. I tend to always offer a 2nd Option of Quality and let the customer decide, I also let them know the differences. eg: DBA Rotors $125 each Retail- RDA Rotors $75 each Retail. DBA are known to better quality as such but if you don't offer the options you wouldn't know would you. Labour on the job would not differ. It also depends on the car to of course, VW Rotors are a lot more expensive then a Ford Falcon Rotor or Holden Commodore.

Their both Australian and both owned by same company as mentioned. They also own EBC Brakes
