Upskilled Questions & Answers
VerifiedThank you for asking me to do a review for the first month of my studying for Certificate IV Business with UpSkilled company. I'm fairly new to this professional business domain and finding it interesting. Your assistance and guidance have had a positive impact to stay focus. You are already delivering good zoom presentations and sessions online which I'm thankful for. I'm already promoting your company and telling others about joining and studying with UpSkilled.
I’d like to hear honest feedback about the Certificate IV in Mental Health at Upskilled from those who have studied it? I’m interested in the quality of the reading materials, the online learning management system and the support offered? Thank you.
Hi - I am not sure if you got an answer but if you are still thinking about your enrolment we can offer you an extended cooling of period so you can sample the course materials for yourself.

Hi, By going through the reviews and the rating, I feel myself to pull back from the course that you provide. Is there any good reviews about Business Analysts (BA) course? Thank you
Hi, Thanks for your questions, the Business Analyst Course is new to Upskilled, and is delivered via our partner Simplilearn. Here are a couple of reviews "Olu Adeyinka MSc Senior Business System Analyst - The faculty has excellent knowledge about the subject, and his ability to teach is very inspiring. The course content is comprehensive and updated" and "Caleb Navarro The trainer was highly skilled and took the time to answer every single question, and explained how to think of the BA framework from the right perspective. The sessions were very interactive and focused on content and explained each knowledge area in detail." You can also see Upskilled reviews here: external link . We would love the chance to speak with you and answer any concerns you have, our Australian based Education Consultants can be contacted on 1300 460 519
I would not go with this provider, they do not assist you and their systems are usually full of errors. Try almost anything else. Feel free to email me IT.gear3@gmail.com If it means that you stay away from these people, even their national RTO manager simply tries to pretent that everything works properly with all the proof.
Please do not study with these people. I beg you.
Nirajan, don't do the mistake of enrolling with upskilled! Its a [Content Removed] organization. Their course content is so monotonous and outdated that you will give up finally. Almost all the five stars reviews are FAKE!!!! You can clearly tell by the writing style that has no relevance to the course content. You or anyone has any doubts on enrolling with upksilled, I am more than happy to answer it. I can be reached at => ksabby89@yahoo.com
As someone who volunteers, I have had more responsibility put on my shoulders then originally planned and I'm in a position where people need my support. I would like upskilled to realise that I am doing a community service and because of this I put the well-being of my community first. So why can't upskilled put my course on hold and defer for 6 months until the project I'm working on finishes and I have the time to do the work?
Yes you've said I can take time and get an extension, that extention cost $300 a month past the completion date
Because upskilled are a money-hungry pack of vultures with the morals of an alley cat.
Hi, I'm thinking of undertaking the Diploma in Community Services. Do you have any feedback from current or previous students?
Hi Zoe. Thanks for your question. We have a range of Community Services testimonials on some of our popular specialisations in Case Management, Counselling and Mental Health. You can read them here: external link
Don't do it, Zoe. I am a past student. Don't rely on their testimonials. They are hardly going to leave bad reviews on there. I suggest doing some more research. Don't even take my advice. I am sure that you will get a clear picture soon. Hopefully, I am not too late to save you.
How much of the cert IV IT networking course is not a link to a third party website, such as LinkedIn Learning video?
I know that they used to use third party content quite a bit. I did not mind. I love your question and it does make you think about Ethics and if this type of behaviour is acceptable. A lot of education providers, including Universities do this, and they tell you not to commit plagiarism, but one could argue that they are doing just that. Go right to the source for your course. Cisco. The Netacad course is awesome and you get to sit for your COMPTIA certification, all under one roof.
Hi, I'm thinking of doing an Individual Support course with Upskilled. Any thoughts and /or views on this course would be helpful , thanks

Are you or did you do the same course?
They teach support but dont really offer good support.
Hi. I started my course last year august 2019 and I cancelled the course last month and tried to ask how may repayments do I have to pay for the course and got a reply that I have to pay till september this year. I'm expecting to finish to pay the course august not september. Has anyone the same situation of me if you paid another extra month?
no, I have just started with them. Not overly impressed thus far.
Not really, I deposit $300 as well for enrollment fee and if I count till september for the payment that's gonna be 13 months plus the deposit I did..:(

I just love how they try to get you to contact them for resolution but when you do they walk all over you. Jeya, please post your outcome on here so that we all know if this was resolved.
I want to withdraw my course so disappointed. I write many times that I want to cancelled it but you still want me to pay it for nothing.?
Hellow did u pay for monthly payment? Im thinking want to cancel as well
I pay it fornight but even you cancel it they want u to pay for your course. Really disappointed.
I am not surprised about what I am reading. If you are reading this please comment so that we can keep the thread alive and help others.
I wish I read this before I started, lost my job cant pay and bam to bad, no pause, no support just tough it out.
I would like to cancel my course. Very disappointed with the amount of support. I have been waiting months for an assessment to be marked & if I need help with a question, I wait 3 to 4 days for a reply. Upskilled is not giving me what I read about the organization before I applied & I'm very unhappy. The stress on top of it has been horrible, trying to do a cert 3 individual support worker with no help.
Hi Monika. We are very sorry to hear your experience was not to your expectations. We are constantly striving to do better and we would like you to know that we would be happy to investigate your complaint to work towards a resolution. Please contact us on 1300 009 924 so we can work with you to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.

Better go to tafe
Good advice Maryrose. TAFE is good. I have done a few courses through them. I feel for Monika. I have experienced similar behaviour from Upskilled.
Hi, Looking for an honest feedback from someone who has recently completed Certificate 4 in Information Technology Networking. TIA
not sure if you have signed up yet, but AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Thanks for your feedback Luke. I haven’t signed up yet and very happy with the decision I have made.
hello Luke M. I am thinking of signing up with Upskilled too on the same course.... can you elaborate more why to “avoid it at all cost” ? i would like to know more of your experience with them
Absolutely investigate and take all negative comments from reviewers onboard. I started the diploma in IT (focussing on networking) course last year. I haven’t been able to finish it. This is on me and at this point I don’t completely blame upskilled for that, however 5 days cooling off is not enough to realise you don’t like the course and because you really do want to persevere you tend to stick it out and hope it gets better. By the time you start the course the cooling off is over. The whole first module is online via Pluralsight tutorials and LinkedIn learning (I never got past the first module) It is difficult because if you can’t set up a small computer network it is hard to follow tutorials and practice what you’re learning, the only support received is really repetitive emails that tell you when you are falling behind in assessments. (That is my experience anyway). I was trying to work through the first learning stream so I could get to the subjects I knew I would enjoy more and would be relevant to my career but I kept falling further behind until I knew I couldn’t catch up. They have given me more time, however the course has changed from last year and now the assessment is longer and more involved and needs a video role play that includes someone who knows what I am studying and has knowledge of what I am studying. I don’t necessarily have access to a person who fits this description so I feel I can’t fulfill the assessment requirements. I guess the goal posts have shifted, so once again I am behind. I’m not saying I wasn’t learning, I was, but my experience is not what the sales person promised so I have basically wasted $4000.00 and did not get a job out of it. I am not going ahead with the course as I know that I can’t catch up and I can’t get anyone from customer support to contact me. As I stated I don’t entirely blame Upskilled but the high pressure sales techniques do break down any misgivings that have a chance of coming back when you realise it wasn’t the course you wanted after all.
Thank you for your unbiased response... i have decided not to go ahead with Upskilled due to not being able to find anyone who can give positive feedback about information technology in networking course..
We go to these organisations to learn, not to be assessed on what we didn't learn. If they are not teaching us, what we are there to learn, then surely they are the bad teachers, we are not the bad students.
Hi can anyone tell me I called the acwa Australian community workers association and they said upskilled is not an accredited course with them. Has anyone who has done the diploma in Community services with upskilled had problems gaining employment without the accreditation and do companies recognise this qualification
Hi Sandra, I found Upskilled incompetent and cancelled after one month. Still waiting for my refund. If you look at some reviews the issues go back to 2014 so no improvement since then. Would not recommend them even if they were accredited. Regards
Hi Sandra. Thanks for your questions. Yes, that is correct. It is not an accredited course with ACWA as our Diploma of Community Services training package only offers 100 hours of work placement (ACWA requires 400 hours of work placement). They also do not accept online learning.
However, they have a student membership available for those who graduate without an ACWA accredited course and you can apply for full membership after 3 years of work experience: external link
Our Diploma of Community services courses are nationally recognised in Australia. Check out our FAQ on what this means here: external link
If you require any more information, please call us on 1300 009 924 and have a chat with one of our Education Consultants.

Hi did anyone have problems getting clinical placement as they advertise they organise it for you
Hi Sandra, I was so disappointed with the course being only a month into it that I cancelled and requested a refund. They did not stack up to what they said they could do. If you check the reviews it been an issue since 2014. Hope this helps
Hi Sandra. Thanks for your question. In response to your enquiry, please see our FAQ about work placement here: external link If you are a current student and have issues with work placement, please private message us your best contact details (name, phone, and email) and we will follow up with our Workplace Coordinator to assist you.

Pros and Con's?

I am paying through payment plans. I now want to cancel the course as the assessment was rediculous out of topics and impossible to finish all questions. Only you read a question it ate your half time to answer. I don’t like it at all. Can someone please tell me if I am liable to the rest of payments if I put cancellation in writing. Thx you
Hi Ray, my son was having the same issue. It is like it is designed to make students fail so they can take your money and try to enroll you in another course to get more money out of you. My son almost completed his certificate but with poor support from trainer and learning materials he decided to withdraw with only one module to go. His intentions was to get recognition of prior learning through TAFE for the modules he completed and attend face to face to complete the one module and gain his qualification. However, Upskilled have been very difficult to obtain an academic transcript. After much back and forth they agreed to send it to him. They still have not sent it and it has been in excess of 14 days. Their complaints policy is good in theory but not in practice and feel that the problem is systemic. We cannot gain resolution through student services, and their complaints policy next step is to write to the CEO. However they will not provide his email address. For your reference I located the CEO's email address which is sadiq.merchant@upskilled.edu.au however, we are now going to lodge a claim through the small claims court for a refund and court costs as my son has provided thousands of dollars and they cannot provide any evidence of his academic transcript (their policy states they keep records for 7 years). My son has also written to the Minister of Education to advise him of his complaint. I would strongly suggest that you consider taking your complaint further. Get all your evidence together and try to get all correspondence in writing from them (eg email). Then try all the avenues you can think of whether that be attempting to resolve through their policy; or going to small claims court; contacting A Current Affair; or Members of Parliament; or the ACCC
If you are interested in Upskilled complaints policy it is here external link
You are not alone. Be strong.
Certainly a waste of time & energy. 2months for an assessment to be marked & 3 days for someone to reply to help with a question. I'm working on the question now, so getting a reply 3days later does not help me. Very disappointed.
I've have a problem in upskilled also want to cancelled my course almost 4 months now but they want me to pay for the full course that I never started yet can you please help me what to do coz I'm only new here in Australia
