St.George Bank customer service needs better training. Your Terms & Conditions state Concession Accounts can’t be overdrawn, well that contradicts… Read more

those terms. Every time a make a purchase or repayment on a purchase I transfer those funds to my account then proceed to make payments/purchases, St George Bank takes those funds as Negative funds even though I have the money available and the purchase/repayments have been deducted from my available balance. Now if I paid the Negative amount that means I’d be paying double the payment. After every transaction I check my available balance to see if the payment has been deducted and it has, how do you justify deducting multiple payments from my account when the funds are all ready taken out of my account from the AVAILABLE FUNDS?. Your banking processing software clearly has errors that need attention. Your staff lies about these issues and can’t comprehend the problem. How many more customers is this happening to?, The bank is making billions of dollars. Your Complaints Manager only offered $250.00 to close the case. Terrible service. My case is currently with AFCA. Hopefully they can comprehend the issue. Based on your Terms & Conditions that contradict overdrawn Concession Accounts I want to be compensated for the bank illegally accessing my account.

I’ve been with St George for over 27years, AND never an issue. All banks have fine print, you just need to common sense thing and READ the T&Cs. If… Read more

you don’t understand, then ask the question. You’re all adults right? Well don’t blame the bank for your own failings.

Outsourcing vital customer service is not worth it – If without the sincere assistance of a branch staff member, the out-sourced mortgage team of St George Bank would not even worth the one star rating.… Read more

A simple process of discharging a home loan took a whole month! During which we had been on the phone 6 times every time talking to a different mortgage team member. Most of the time were wasted on being put on hold, explaining the problems repeatedly and fixing the silly mistakes they made on their end! No one seemed to know what's happening and what each others were doing. Even the staff members at the branch were puzzled by the mistakes they made. A typical example of how outsourcing vital service to inefficient and incapable team members has been damaging the reputation of St George Bank.

October was treated as urgent and an inspector turned up within hours. A second leak in January was found. The company were so kind & considerate of my needs before $. There inspections found a few faults which I had done asap by my trade. Then the insurance took over. The tradesmen arrived on the right day & time. They were immaculately clean & tidy. My life was considered at every turn. They helped me with computer heiroglyfics that I understood and they helped me by phone answer & complete their forms. They moved furniture & stored my things in a pod. The supervisor arranged everything with me in the loop. The supervisor/s were on the phone at every aspect. Im so impressed. Brilliant amazing & im so greatful. Thank you thank you

Unreliable Travel Card – On a recent trip to the UK, Greece and Italy I found this card to be quite unreliable with failure to actually work in over half the transactions… Read more

attempted. I suspect it was the Mastercard side as my other Visa card worked everytime when the Mastercard failed.

I was Refunded a $11000 airfare to the Amplify Platinum card, and St George customer service say they do not allow transfer of excess credit to a bank account. This is not normal, have had no issues with other banks.

St George changed my savings account interest rate without telling me – Beware - you need to contact St George every 3 months and ask for discretion rate or else it goes down to worthless rate. They did not call or… Read more

message me to tell me rate drop.

This does NOT seem correct to me - why is it not possible to advise via email, text or post that there will be a change to the interest rate they are paying?

What a shitshow. St George sold the car finance to an even more useless mob callefResimac. Nothing but a headache. Avoid at all cost!!!

Great – Had this card for a number of years and never had an issue. Auto payment sweep is a great feature, and I never have to worry about paying the interest.

Paris 48 hours before our flight. Had to get emergency passports and new flights and 4 extra nights in Paris. The St George insurance paid all and was exceptional.

multiple products on productreview, perhaps to avoid people seeing how they behave.

The primary issue in my case was being advised I had the incorrect account type and needed to open a new account. So far all ok. Except the lady then provides a document to sign. The first couple of sentences on this, note that Ive read the Terms and Conditions. She advises that theyre online and I can read them later. I said I cannot sign until I've what I'm agreeing to. She goes online and opens a T&C document. This, it turns is a lengthy booklet, that presumably you're supposed to read and absorb while sitting there; with the lady constantly interrupting you to explain it's just standard and all the banks use this. You could just give up and sign. which is what I expect StGeorge want you to do. I gave up and left, not wanting the repercussions of signing something I hadnt read, to come back later. It's quite absurd to sign a document (especially related to finance) without reading it first.

TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN!!!! – I have called you four times over the last 24 hours and have been transferred at least eight times trying to resolve an issue as to why I am stumped every time I hit apply for a car loan. Not to worry I'm taking my money and I'm leaving.

Complicated Application Process – This has to be the worst bank I've ever dealt with. Three weeks into my application for a Credit Card and 4 phone calls to their call center and not… Read more

a single employee of this bank knows what's happening with my application. Call center wait times are outrageous and imagine waiting 40 minutes on the phone only to be told we will escalate to the seniors. Looks like the seniors are not bothered investigating escalations as I was told my application will be escalated on 4 separate occasions. If you need a credit card on time you are better off with other banks who know what they are doing.

suits me best, I'm now told From 29 June 2026, your card fee will move from an annual fee of $55 to a monthly fee of $7. This change will start from your next card fee date, which is one year after the date your card fee was last charged. The total fee over the year will be $84.

St George are so dishonest and once they get you locked into a process they take advantage. I understand this is one of Westpac lower quality products and I can now see how they use various brands to take advantage of specific markets, usually the ones that can leat afford it.

Recently I was scanned by Wix taking a payment wit an expired card and wrong CCV and the bank did nothing about it, so what are we paying extra money for?

Hopefully decentralized finance willl mean that banks are no longer required.
