from moisture build-up or water entering it.
But seriously, this is a dishwasher! Shouldn't the engineers have considered the possibility of water or moisture getting into the control panel? Why would they position the PCB board and buttons somewhere so vulnerable to water damage in the first place especially for a under-mount model? if you have a wet hand say from loading the dishes and go and pressed the button to start the cycle wouldnt the water naturally run down the button gap and pooled on top of the PCB? If your dishwasher door is semi open say for drying and water drip from the kitchen bench on to the buttons control area? End user problem??
Now move forward another year, after getting almost $500 repair bill (1/3 or so the cost of new dishwasher) and now we're constantly getting an F12 error code. And this point to either the front PCB or the bottom PCB board mulfunctioning or the water valve is blocked. Seriously
While ASKO claimed that their build quality, reliable body using stainless steel and quality mechanical parts (As per their marketting brochure) but their control boards and PCB chips that they use in their machine is either cheaply made or are just crap engineering. And it is not cheap- $300-500 for the replacement board not including labor. Yes similar price to a tablet or small laptop
Very disappointed with ASKO. For a supposedly premium brand, I expected much better quality, reliability and durability. Definitely not what I expected for the price we paid! Less than 5 years old and it require repair on the PCB board?
Almost all my PC, laptop, phone, portable speakers and other electronic that i use almost everyday (definitely more than the dishwasher) HAVE NEVER HAVE a PCB board or button control Panels BREAKDOWN and require repair-- NOT once but F ing twice.

repair it ASKO took it to factory for further work. Customer service is poor . The best part of this dishwasher is the technician who comes out to fix it! Turns out they have multiple problems and no care from Asko. If I could leave zero stars I would. The old Asko dishwashers were amazing the new ones are worthless

It took 2wks for a service person to attend . Then 2hrs later, and a technical modification by the service person seemed to remedy the problem. Less than 12mths later , a burning smell started to come from the appliance. Another two weeks later and the same service person declares that the main power lead has burnt through its protective cover and he would recommend a replacement. Forward 9weeks later, it is about to be repaired. During the 9 week wait I contacted the so called ‘customer service team ‘ , no less than 5 times, each without response , until this day arriving. Here’s fingers crossed. Oh and don’t buy an asko

ASKO Dishwasher Review: $2,500 Wasted. STAY AWAY. Six service attendances in 11 months. The same recurring fault. An unusable dishwasher. And after… Read more
more than three weeks of chasing, ASKO refuses to replace it.
I paid approximately $2,500 for this ASKO dishwasher, and the same fundamental door problem has persisted through six service requests/attendances. Multiple repairs have been attempted, components replaced, including the entire door, and it still hasn’t been fixed.
At the latest attendance, the technician told me the dishwasher was “UNFIXABLE AND UNUSABLE."
For over three weeks, I have had to repeatedly chase ASKO and Harvey Norman for a decision. After weeks of waiting and following up, ASKO has finally come back to me refusing to replace the dishwasher and offering a refund instead.
Their explanation? My cabinetry is allegedly not square, and the dishwasher supposedly works correctly when pulled out of the cavity.
ASKO stated in writing: “When tested outside of the cabinetry, the door operates and closes correctly.” This is absolute rubbish. I was there. The door would not close!
The technician pulled the dishwasher out and attempted to close the door. It could not be closed. He then pushed it back into the cavity and left without reinstalling the fixing screws securing it to the cabinetry.
Because the dishwasher was left unattached to the cabinetry, I have video evidence showing that the door does not close, contradicting ASKO’s written claim. I will be sharing that footage as widely as possible!
And ASKO’s cabinetry explanation makes even less sense when you consider the history. My previous AEG dishwasher worked perfectly in the exact same cabinetry for approximately six years. My home is also a late 2019 new home build. The cabinetry has not changed since the ASKO was installed.
This is particularly difficult to reconcile with ASKO’s own claims that its dishwashers are:
“renowned for their quality, durability and flexibility.”
And:
“A trusted companion. A lot can happen in 20 years. No matter what happens in your family, career or lifestyle, rest assured that your ASKO dishwasher can see through alongside with you. A constant among the change, a dependable assistant.”
Quality, durability and a dependable companion for 20 years Mine has failed repeatedly within just 11 months. It is now unusable, and after weeks of chasing, I’m being refused a replacement and told my cabinetry is the problem.
Those marketing promises are a joke compared with my actual experience.
We chose this dishwasher because we are a large family and needed a large-capacity appliance that suited our needs. Instead, I have a $2,500 unusable dishwasher, six service attendances, weeks of wasted time and a company that has failed to resolve the problem.
I have now referred the matter to Consumer Affairs Victoria and will be providing the service history, correspondence and video evidence.
My advice: STAY AWAY FROM ASKO. I would not buy from them again, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
ASKO, this is my experience with your product and your handling of this complaint. I will be sharing the video so prospective customers can see the door failure, the quality and durability of your dishwashers, and your renowned customer care for themselves.

failure. Three other issues—
1. The cutlery basket broke and had to be replaced. 2. The bottom rack wheels wore out so the rack didn't slide back in. Swapping the wheels back to front fixed this . 3. The bottom rack handle broke (repaired with cable ties).
This is not a quality product. It will now be replaced with a non-Asko product. On the plus side it washes effectively.

Asko Dishwasher is terrible – Worst dishwasher I have ever owned. Badly built and when there is an issue (which there definitely will be) you can't get the parts to fix it. Avoid avoid avoid.

what was supposed to be the best dishwasher on the market. 3 days after install the first machine displayed an F56 message, we rang ASKO and as this fault couldn’t be fixed they sent a replacement.... The replacement came and was clearly not a new one as it had water inside, screws missing as well as the door being dented in several spots and rusty. We should have refused the machine then and there, however made the mistake of still installing it. Since this time, we have had nothing but trouble! The machine does the absolute worst job of cleaning dishes out of any dishwasher I have ever owned so I’m continually having to also hand wash afterwards and the top basket continually drops down causing the door not to shut properly. Asko have been out 3 times since to “fix” it but it’s still no better, furthermore they have drilled into my kitchen cupboards that many times to reinstall the unit it’s permanently damaged them an absolute eyesore from the inside. It is honestly the biggest piece of overpriced rubbish I have ever had the displeasure of owning.

the option to dry but its a great idea to have this separate for power usage reasons. The fact that you can set a specific time for a wash is also handy. This machine also has the option to do a top or bottom load which I find very useful. Still getting used to the cutlery tray which is a bit different to my old Miele. I haven't used the night setting yet but at present have need to do as its its very quite on any other setting. It has been set out to maximise space inside and is very big, fitting a fourth removable tray under the top basket with its own jets. I really like the fact that the trays are removable, so I can fit large baking trays in the bottom easily.
I sometimes scrape or rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher only because I don't like cleaning filters although I haven't had this machine long enough to comment on the filter. The filter is differently a better design than the old Miele machine.
It has very little plastic in it, wire instead which is also a plus. So far very happy with the machine and the installer was very nice, and did the job quickly without any drama.

secure. To place chefs knives theres 2 niches that are obscured once bowls are in, so you have to unload them when adding the knives. Worst of all is that theres no options to restrain small items other than the cutlery basket. We've added a wire basket to use for small dishes, jar lids, long utensils etc but this has reduced the capacity for crockery. The machine is quiet and cleans well, even the cutlery, but is so annoying to stack compared to our old Electrolux.

delivery and dishwasher worked for 2 weeks before throwing major errors, flooding our kitchen floor.
Ineffective communication with service department throughout December meant no service arranged until January. Service indicated major component had failed and a repair was suggested, with parts taking more than 2 weeks to arrive.
I have requested a replacement dishwasher from service department, considering the type of fault and amount of time brand new dishwasher actually functioned but they are unable to provide a resolution or timeframe.
Asko was a reliable brand … our last dishwasher lasted 12 years without missing a beat, but after this experience I would avoid Asko at all costs in the future.
