identified, simply 'sensed' and cooked it accordingly; with this current model you have to WEIGH the food, and then enter the weight for the microwave to know how long to cook the food. The problem (apart from having to weigh it, which is a pain and I often forget), is that having added this factor to the process, we are only offered specific weights in the programming!! So, an additional step has been added, without the ability to enter the actual weight of the food - eg frozen vegetables offer the options of 120g, 250g etc. What if I want to cook 200g?? I cannot believe that Panasonic have taken a step BACKWARDS, from a microwave that performed the cooking function with ease, to an operation that requires extra work on the part of the cook, AND limited weight options when this info has to be entered. I'm going to look for another microwave, which is a real disappointment as our previous microwave served us faithfully for over 40 years!! Definitely a retrograde step with this microwave, Panasonic. :( :( :( Have had an approach from Panasonic, but nothing that addresses my issue, only an apology and a comment that they will take my comments into consideration. Would NOT recommend this microwave if you have used auto-sensing ones in the past that didn't require weight info!

moved to have these made in China. I used to love Panasonic. No longer. Australia is flooded with Chinese junk. This latest started beeping constantly and can't be reset. I think the electronics are stuffed. I contacted Panasonic and because I can't give them an invoice, they won't help me at all. It have been too hectic here with breakdowns, floods and health issues and the invoice got lost. I forget where it came from.

I have been looking at what replacement I can have but after a couple of hours it is frustrating. No matter what brand and model I look at, I think I have found one until I read the reviews. Every brand gets so many negative comments. I think Australian standards are pathetic. They should not allow imports unless they are well made. The st>pid Govt in Australia made it impossible for manufacturing to continue in this country.

The ST665B worked well and cooked well, but the electronics obviously are pathetic. More so is the lack of support. I had 3 Panasonic microwaves before this one but I don't really want to buy another.

The verdict? I am still frustrated that I can not find a decent microwave that generally has good acceptance with Australian users.

clunks loudly when moved from this position.the door is also hard to close and open.

Functionality is infuriating. Having to hit the Micro Power button before being allowed to chiose any other cooking function or time. Also limited cooking time options which are in 1min and 10sec increments.

It is also extremely loud when being used.

As awful as the above features are, the most infuriating thing about this microwave is the heating. It takes at least double the time to heat food compared to any other microwave I’ve owned.

This thing is a piece of junk and I’m seriously considering throwing it away and buying another brand.

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

yesterday. It works like a microwave should, but my old one was sooo much easier to use. I am unfortunately regretting my purchase for several reasons. 1. It's dark inside, so hard to see inside. 2. The writing/numbers on the control panel are hard to see. 3. Most annoying, there's no numerical keypad. Whereas my old Breville microwave, if I wanted 5 mins and 55 secs I just had to press 555. This one I have to press the minute 5 times, the 10 sec button five times and there's no way to get anything that's not an increment of ten seconds. 4. Carrying on from the previous point, if I want to heat something for 25 seconds, I can't! 5. If I wanted to heat something for six minutes in my old microwave I'd just press the number 6 and that's it, one press and the microwave would be on its merry way. On this one if I want to heat something for six minutes, it means six presses of one button, then go, 7 presses in total, compared to one press on my old microwave. 7. The auto defrost function also requires heaps of presses to do anything. It's all little stuff, but would make the experience so much better if it was different. So, things to look for when this microwave chucks it in: numerical keypad most important, white interior (I had already been told that dark interior was bad, but stupidly all the other viable options were also dark inside), easier to see figures on control panel.

oven. When I do a big Greek cook-up. one oven isn't enough. This microwave has an oven feature and it works brilliantly to cook an extra baked potatio dish for example. The fact you can microwave the potatoes for a few minutes to soften them, then bake as normal is such a useful innovation. And then steaming? Well that's great to throw in some veges, add water to the steamer box beneath, and go. To be honest, I don't use the steamer as much as I thought I would. I know it'd be good for bread and salmon and roast chicken amongst other things, but the truth is, my cooking workflow uses other methods I am more familiar with. Our unit does microwave duties mostly, and I'm happy with that.

I like that there isn't a turntable. It means I can fit more in, and it works fine. Cleanup is excellent - wipe with a cloth.

I notice that after certain uses, there is a lot of moisture on the door glass. This is normal. The oven is so well sealed, moisture does not escape very easily. Again, wipe with a cloth.

I'm really happy with this purchase. As a microwave, it's a workhorse like most other units. But to have the added functionality is such a great bonus. The steaming, grilling and baking/roasting are there when I need it. And that, is what I paid for.

perfect cooking and reheating. So we bought it’s new update model NN-ST75LB.

It’s a big 44L size. Whilst it seems more compact than the older, inside its turntable is the same size and all our usual large dishes go in without a problem.

The feature buttons are similar. I was really pleased to see the Vegetables button because, once again, no matter what vegetables we put in, it just cooks them perfectly, even frozen veggies. Same goes with the Fush/Chicken, Pasta and Melt/Soften buttons.

However, the best and most used button is, and has always been, the Sensor Reheat button. No matter what goes in, it reheats perfectly but I must admit, I usually stop it once the countdown chimes if I need it to sit for a minute or so before the covering comes off or the toast pops! It is also perfect for when you might want to add some freshly chopped light veg like zucchini or spinach to canned meals or soup, or if you simply throw in some frozen veggies.

I’m yet to try out the Breakfast button for eggs and bacon, or the packet cake bake option, all which will save huge amounts of energy over the conventional cook top and oven. This microwave is not only a real genius in the kitchen, it keeps our electric bills low.

in the limited space there is for a microwave oven in our home. The large door open push button though is over firm to push. The oven will slide backwards on the side that button is on each time you push it. I had to put stick on foam rubber bits on the plastic feet of it which stops that. Being hard to push like it is id not recommend it for those with arthritis at all. The push buttons for everything else are on the firm side too, much firmer than the microwave this replaced. Its a good little unit just dont expect to fit all plate or bowl sizes in it and if you have any issues like arthritis in your hands then look at another brand. It does work well though. Good it has 10 and 30 second options on the timer. Panasonic needs to replace the rubbish plastic feet of this with some good grippy rubber ones because its just stupid seeing it move so much each time you open the door.

out the standard 600mm recess really well which was the main reason for choosing it. I did consider the optional stainless steel surround facia to make it look integrated but it’s ridiculously expensive for a piece of stainless steel and looks a bit crap and glad I didn’t as it’s not necessary.

Excellent cooking functions including the Genius sensor and LED internal light which is really bright and hopefully shouldn’t blow like the old ones incandescent light.

Despite being 25% larger inside than the old 32lt one all of that is in width and depth with the height being the same. So it will fit huge plates or bowls but don’t expect to accomodate something tall.

flimsy, is very light and rattles quite loudly. It doesn't feel like quality and I understand that Panasonic no longer manufactures in Japan. It works as you would expect, purely a microwave. The main problem is that the convection aspect has not been well tested. Previously, all I used was The Genius for convection cooking, but this model does not bake well. The heating element burns items like cakes before they are cooked. The air circulation does not prevent this. Additionally, a standard 12 hole muffin pan is a squeeze to fit it, causing scrapes on the inside. I'm not sure how these problems passed quality inspection.

day one, struggled to heat food properly with the microwave. For example, it took around five minutes to heat a single cup of water to only 57 °C.

Over several weeks, I exchanged multiple emails with Panasonic’s after‑sales team. Unfortunately, I was repeatedly asked for the same information I had already provided and was eventually told the unit was “in good working order” despite the clear performance issue.

Eventually, I took the microwave to an authorised repairer, who confirmed it was faulty and replaced the magnetron. After repairs, the microwave now works as expected.

While I’m happy with the product’s performance now, the after‑sales process was frustrating and unnecessarily drawn out.

I hope Panasonic reviews its customer support approach so that genuine faults are acknowledged and resolved more efficiently in future.

stainless steel strip on the bottom edge. For some incompetent design reason, they made the front panel also all black with very feint white text for button descriptions. And guess what, no backlighting for any areas on the front panel, but just a bright digital clock. Yes have now read other reviews concerning the lack of backlighting for the front panel, so it seems Panasonic don't care about customers concerns there, but are still happy to take your money. So unless you have bright spotlights running all the time in your kitchen, you simply can't see the buttons or their descriptions. So of course under cupboard lighting doesn't work either. That photo is showing a lot more text than I can see due to the phones low light abilities. So even if you memorise the button locations it will still be hit and miss to get the right one! Definitely not recommended for people without 20/20 vision. EDIT: Of course there is an alternative solution to the problem providing you have a 3D printer lying around. This is my first attempt at creating a label, but I got the lettering two big, so will reduce the size for the next print. You could also just use a hand label printer to put white on black labels under the touch buttons. Edit: I should add, after using the microwave for a few months now, that another strange design change that Panasonic created for this model, was to restrict the door opening to 90°, but not so on my previous microwave model purchase. This issue results in increased difficulty in trying to remove a large heavy dish from inside the oven, because your left elbow gets jammed against the door, forcing you to move to the right on an angle to free up your arms. It doesn't make any sense that they would stop the door opening to at least 120°, like my previous model does.

I regret buying this oven – When I was in the market for a new convection microwave oven to replace my 18 year old Sharp, the Panasonic NN-CD87KS had great international… Read more

reviews. This is my third convection microwave oven in nearly 30 years. The main oven in the kitchen is a fuel stove that is only used occasionally. An oven with a fairly large turntable was required as I do a fair bit of cooking biscuits and I like to fit as many as I can onto the baking tray. This oven has a reasonable sized turntable and it is able to take my existing round baking trays.

The box it comes in is attractive and sturdy, unfortunately polystyrene has been used for packing and that is not recyclable where I live in regional NSW. The oven seems to be well made and to be good quality. It does quite a reasonable job of baking biscuits, pies and tarts using the convection oven. I do very little microwave cooking, I use the microwave function mostly for thawing and reheating. The microwave function works well, it's the control of it that is of poor design.

Turbo defrost has to be set at a higher weight than actual if you want the product thawed. The overall controls are not logical, for example when adjusting the microwave power with the control knob, it goes from 1000watt to 800 then to 270 and back to 600watt. If you want it to work as a convection oven you have to push the convection button several times to get the required temperature, for example 14 times if you want to cook at 140C.

Convection oven temperature of 40C is great for proving bread, the trouble is that a loaf of bread cooked in the oven at a normal bread cooking temperature of 200C is overcooked (burnt) on the top and undercooked on the bottom.

The door must be first opened and closed before you can set the power and time and if you leave it set for more than five minutes it cancels your settings and you have to open and close the door and reset the power or temperature and time. That can be a real pain if you have several things on the go in the kitchen and you think I will just warm up what is in the microwave and you find you have to reset the power and cooking time, first opening and closing the door.

There is no temperature setting between 40C and 100C so it is useless as an oven to keep food warm, which should be a standard feature of a convection oven.

Sensor reheat is another useless function, it overdoes it and the food ends up losing too much moisture and is then often overcooked and dry. The fan is noisy and goes on for quite a while after using the microwave function, that appears to me to be unnecessary.

The oven basically works well forgetting the auto functions with the only thing I have not been able to bake in it is a loaf of bread which is a real disappointment as baking bread is one of the main reasons for having a convection oven and I have always been able to bake bread in my previous convection microwave ovens. The other big problems are illogical controls and having to open and close the door to set it or re-set it after five minutes and not being able to use it as a warming oven.

In my opinion I think the firmware microprocessor programming must have been done by a green high tech kid just out of university with no experience of a kitchen or cooking in the real world!

Panasonic have not been of any help after several phone calls, I finally spoke to a Australian representative who did not get back to me after initially speaking to him, even after me phoning and leaving a message for him to contact me three times, I have an excellent Panasonic answering machine on 24/7 if I am unavailable. I had to leave messages at the Panasonic help line call centre which is located in the Philippines, there is no phone number available to contact anyone at Panasonic in Australia. That applies to all Panasonic products.

I certainly regret buying this oven as I will have to live with it now, I would love to get rid of it and replace it with something better, unfortunately my budget does not allow such luxuries.

reviews. I got it through Flybuys.

After buying it I realised Panasonic include a leaflet encouraging people to do reviews in order to enter competitions to win a $1000 gift card and 2 x $100 Eftpos cards. That began to make sense after the initial first impressions weren't good.

For a start I installed the new microwave into the recess in our kitchen where the Sharp had been. For some reason the Panasonic microwave wasn't level and rocked- the Sharp never had that problem. Then it would continually be slowly sliding backwards on the shelf from normal operation - closing the door, pushing the door release button etc. I first made some feet from TPU on a 3D printer inorder to level the microwave and stop it rocking. I figured it should also help stop it slowly sliding backwards on the shelf - no that didn't work. So I made a brace running from the back of the microwave to the wall behind it - that has worked. But why should a new microwave require all this to be done?

On top of that, the User Interface is shocking and so slow/ illogical to enter the cooking time and power.

Another issue has been the top "hinge" of the door. There isn't a hinge as such- just a dimpled piece of metal that scraps/ gouges on a plastic piece for the door to pivot on. The oven isn't that old (a couple of months) and the plastic piece has a distinct gouge forming in it and the door makes squeaking grinding noises when being opened and closed. I'm not sure how that set up for a top hinge is going to last?

There's an LED light inside which should be a good upgrade from the previous halogen bulb in the Sharp. However the LED is recessed and doesn't light up about 1/3 of the oven interior.

So, after all the above, the oven does function okay in cooking/ melting / defrosting food. But I don't see it lasting long with the poor excuse for a top hinge on the door.

I've uploaded a video of the hinge in action on Youtube (Productreview's website had errors uploading it directly here.) https://youtube.com/shorts/tw3ueDM5crQ
