2nds World Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi, i purchased a fridge in April 2018 from 2nds World, Mentone, and its still under warranty, i got some issues with it, but unfortunately i lost invoice. Can you please help me to get it? Thankyou Harpreet Singh 0456374461
Hi Harpreet, I am going through the same problem and I don't know if you got an answer. But after five phone calls I finally got a phone number to call to make the claim for extended warranty. If you purchased a product before 2019 from 2nds World, call 1800 003 466 (The Warranty Group) or call Harvey Norman main office 02 9201 6111 if the first number was not helpful. I hope this helps. Cheers
I have the same issue but the warranty group could not find my policy with our name, number, delivery address or date of purchase. Does anyone know the company that the extended warranty is actually provided by?
I bought a dishwasher from you guys and it got delivered 2 days ago. As I was in the Auburn store purchasing, I requested to extend the warranty to 5 years, but was informed that this offer is not available. This was very disappointing. Are you able to help me? I still want to extend the warranty. Thanks
This is a product review site! Not the stores webpage. Lmao
Miele machine
What????
the newest reviews appear to be 2 years old.....has this category changed now that Harvey Norman has bought them out? ref external link
Apparently the service is usually poor still. None of the staff seem to have a care. Maybe just stick to the other companies to be safe :/
Top load washing machine no agitator 8.5kg
What?
And?
I bought a TV from 2nds World Auburn. In invoice it says 1 year + 2 years bonus warranty. When I call the TV manufacturer company they said 1 year warranty form manufacturer but next 2 years from retailers . Came to know 2nds world do not exist . Can any one suggest me where I can take this issue ? I still have one year warranty? and my TV is not working at all.
Talk to Harvey Norman Customer Care. They bought 2nd World; external link . If not resolved, then escalate it to Fair Trading and they can guide you the proper way: external link Hope it helps! Do update us if it is resolved and how.
Cheers
Thanks Dip !!
I purchased a Samsung 470L top mount fridge in September 2017. It was sold to me as a factory second on the basis of minor dints on the side. This is reflected on the code on the receipt. A couple if months ago it started freezing food and linwood in the fridge, even in the lowest setting. I called Samsung servicing who asked me for the serial number. I checked the crushed and found that it had been scratched off. In two places. Samsung told me it was a refurbished model and without the serial number they could not validate the warranty. At no time did 2nds world tell me I was buying a refurbished fridge without a warranty. Obviously I would not have gone ahead with the sale. Samsung could not assist me and referred me to Sydney Appliance Centre who have quoted me between $500 and $600 for repair. I am not going to pay this for a fridge that I am not confident will ever be in good working condition given yhsf it was sold to me as faulty. So 2nds world I have no other option than purchasing a new fridge barely two years after purchasing one that I expected would last me a good few years. I am angry that I was misled and ripped off. And it seems there is no recourse. The 2nds world website does not even have any links on it. I cannot find a customer service number anywhere. So 2nds world, what are you going to do to help me?
Nothing obviously
Get onto the ombudsman for this kind of thing and make Samsung sort it out. They have to fix a fridge even out of warranty. It's law. Extended warranties etc are a waste of money for this reason. They are not needed. We have a right to get our fridges fixed up til they are about ten years old without an extended warranty, or no warranty left at all. fridges are nowdays expected to last about 17 years. ACCC told me you are to contact the shop you bought it from and get a copy of proof of purchase etc. Ring ACCC and ask their advice. They are really helpful. But yes Samsung has to help you, it's law.
Why your all the branches closed??? We have paid you 5000$ and have purchased so many products and we want it’s delivery but you people are neither responding to phone calls nor you are open
They have gone into receivership & no longer in business
Do you sell SMEG ovens? Model number. SFA7390X. Can you tell me how much it is?
Ring and ask
Why ask on a product review site! This isn't their website, dipstick.
Is there any review on installation of freestanding oven? They have the cheapest delivery/install package but are their contract installer licensed electrician and workmanship guaranteed?
Hi Jay, we only use qualified and licensed installers and keep a very close eye on their performance & feedback. We regularly get very positive emails from customers who have used our installation service. This was sent to us by a customer last month (I have removed the name for privacy reasons). "I have previously got my washing machine from you and said i would be a return customer. Just had my oven and stove installed. My installer leon was such a credit to your company name, the washing machine installer was also lovely, i will be telling everyone that this is a much better way then to go to the big department stores as they are no help at all. Thank you again 2nds world and Leon"
We are very confident you will not be disappointed.
Thanks. the second part of the question was unanswered, re warranty on workmanship, (eg free from installation defects and and compliance to existing legislation on electrical installation if required in NSW). Thanks
Is there a 2nds world next to Wollongong? - / there used to a 2nds world shop in fairy meadow though they either closed down or moved somewhere else
Hello, I have no idea. My review was regarding purchasing online. If you rang 2nds World they would tell you where their stores are located.
Regards,
Howdy - ok thanks - I rang up directory assistance and they said there were 2 shops in Sydney / I might take your advice and try to call them - ok thanks again - cheers
Hi Brian, our closest store to you would be our Caringbah store. We can deliver to Wollongong through our standard delivery service twice a week or daily with Australia Post/Toll. Please have a look at http://www.2ndsworld.com.au/delivery for all details.
I purchased a Electrolux ergo rapids 2in1 stick vac one week ago, Have fully charged the vac, but it only lasts for about 5 min, and thn stops. Help please .
Hi Kerry, at which store did you purchase the vacuum cleaner? We will need to get it swapped out for you as it sounds like the unit is faulty.
Two days back, i brought a hair straightener from seconds world and i am not happy with the product. Can i return the product?
Hi IceRock, sorry you hear you don't like the hair straightener. As you can imagine it is difficult for us to take back a used hair dryer if it has already been used (I'm sure you wouldn't want to receive a used one :-) ) but please email your invoice number to online@2ndsworld.com.au (subject: productreview - hair straightener) and we will see what we can do for you.
