I have just signed up for the 60 per month plan I use Netflix and use the computer for emails and general use, will the speed be a problem basic broad band

I recently changed to another provider as the service was really bad, I had the 40mb speed which continually dropped out multiple times through out the day, watching Netflix was a nightmare. My new service is awsome same money faster speed no problems.

They are a division of Escapenet since last week so who knows if this will be better or worse! I’ve been with them only for a couple of months now, not too many problems although I would not take out a contract with any of them, had horrendous experience with IINet, went on for weeks had to get Ombudsman involved, got my money back and cancelled contract with no break fees only because Ombudsman involved. hopefully you will be ok, think it’s a test and try with all these people, just don’t take out a contract! I have NBN connected, have registered with Australian Broadband after having major problems with IiNet but does anybody know if I will get connected when modem arrives or is there something I have to wait for NBN to change over June

There shouldn’t be any need for nbn to do anything. Do you have fibre to the premises?

my ip address on speed test shows iprimus, what does yours show?

what speed is achieved on nbn 50 700 metres of copper from the node given I gotb42-47 with optus swapped modems and isp on same plan dropped to 22-32 mbps?

Matt.

Yep, mine did show iprimus also. My speeds were ridiculously low. Switched to the better provider of a similar name and instantly after the swap had 45mbps/15mbps.

Hi there,

Has anyone had any luck cancelling?

I have been with them for months with bad service and speeds. I would not recommend them at all!

I am now trying to cancel and they are not returning emails or phone calls. Next steps will be the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO).

Hi Pam, Thanks for reaching out. Can you please PM your account number (or mobile) so we can identify your account? It is a simple process to cancel your Australia Broadband and you can do it via email or phone. All you need to do is let us know the date you would like your service disconnected. If you are transferring to another retailer, your new provider should arrange the transfer, but we ask you to let us know so we can ensure your services are transferred successfully and account is cancelled with us.

We sorry to hear about the speed and service issues and and we would like look into your complaint. On average we resolve an enquiry or issue within 4 days and we want to find out what has happened in your case. You should also be getting your calls and emails returned as we track all emails and phone calls and monitor this daily. Our customer service team are also not allowed to close any case unless you are satisfied with the resolution. If you are not satisfied, they will escalate it to their team leader and if the team leader resolution is not satisfactory, your case will be escalated to a customer relations manager. Can you let us know via PM if that happened? You do not need to tell us who you spoke at thsi point as we should be able to quickly track this once we have your account details.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,

Australia Broadband

Hi Australian Broadband, Have already communicated my cancelation via email days ago - twice. You already have my details. Furthermore, I have received no communication back about these emails and I called several times last night - which I was hung up on. And it seems you only bothered to respond after seeing public negative feedback.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Pam

They are all rude. They hang up on you when you complain and do not record receipt numbers for your call. No accountability. Be persistant and get them on the phone and then just cancel your service. Its not worth staying with them!

Thanks for your answer Moana, still trying to cancel.

Have just received a bill - even though I had requested cancelation days ago.

I just to let you know I did ring them up on a number of occasions and they would not tell me who the carrier was. look I had a bad experience it's not saying that you're not going to have a bad experience or good experience just trying but I would not recommend them..

Hope this helps.
